Would not go above 450nits outdoors. Worked with apple support and confirmed it was not a settings issue. Swapped for a new one and it had them danger exact issue. HDR content locked screen brightness at 300nit and capped at 1000 nit in very very few scenes. Never reached anywhere near whole screen brightness of 1000 and not even close to 1600 nit peaks. Returned product as it was not working as advertised nor would it fit my use case. Far to heavy to hold and tiny edges make it difficult to hold. Screen palm rejection is lack luster making taking notes and drawing a pain as it constantly moves they image and zooms art random.
