Safari will not open. I was transitioning to a Mac from windows. The constant verification of Apple ID was driving me nuts. Than safari would not work at all. Decided to stay with Windows. It was a very frurstrating experience. Also it took a long time to boot up the computer.

I bought this iMac for my photography business and it's amazing! I mainly use it for editing photos and organizing my calendar. It's big, easy to use, and holds a lot. It also has nice speakers. I love all Apple products, but this is one of my favorites!

I was uncertain about going with the iMac as I have been with IBM compatibles all my life well except when IBM's were using DOS I had an Apple II GS & thought it was pretty nice but drifted away. Well after several different IBM name brands it would always seem that I would would hit with the blue screen or some other stupid error message. 1st want to say thanks to the guys at Best Buy from the sales person to the Geek Squad members they all were helpful & would let me play around on their store demo. The more I would use it the more I wanted it. Trust me it will grow on you. I especially want to thank everyone I ever talked to at AppleCare as your dealing with some of the most professional people and very polite. Each time I called my issue was solved quickly. This is a big jump for me but the learning curve has been very rewarding as no matter what I got figured out I thought Wow! thats so cool & something that your only able to do on an Apple. I love the 27" monitor as I've never seen colors so amazing on a monitor as everything seems so crystal clear that its unbelievable. This i5 runs at a speed that just blows me away. Everything is so easy to get up & running as I also have my iPhone 6S all sync up which was so simple as I will never go back to an IBM compatible brand. If anyone is one the fence about making the switch I would definitely say go for it as you won't regret. I will never go back as Im surprised that it took e so long to do it.

I have absolutely no complaints with my new iMac. The 5k screen delivers the best picture quality I have ever seen on any tv or computer monitor. The setup was fairly painless, even though I had about 150 gigs of data to transfer from my old PC to my new Mac. Three weeks into my purchase and I can no longer imagine my life without this amazing machine.

Pros: Out of the box, very easy to set up. Display is big (almost too big, if that's possible) and beautiful. Very fast and responsive and the user interface is a great experience. Cons: The mouse controls are sometimes awkward and there is no disc drive.

I love the desktop and iOS X, on top of that I can install my windows ten on it. That gives me more flexibility, since some of the program I frequently work are not on IOS. Great display I should mention, I liked the performance. Good buy.

Awesome product - iMac does not disappoint

My wife and I saw the 27" 5K with 1TB at Best Buy on sale for $1599, and we thought what the heck, lets go for it and give it a try. We are avid Apple users. We own iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch, Apple TVs and more lately an Mac Book Pro, (I don't even want to know how much we've spent). We were not disappointed. The iMac screen is awesome, great resolution and it gives you great real state to work. Speakers are great too, always used at less than half volume because they are loud. The only down point for me was the startup speed and app opening speed, that, compared to that of my Mac book Pro, which uses a SSD, seems not as fast (I did not say SLOW!). If you have the money and perform serious tasks and look on having this iMac for years, try and go with at least the 2TB fusion option. If you are not very much into speed details, this will serve very very good. On the processing power though, I compared my 13" MacBook Pro (late 2015) and my iMac 27", and the iMac really showed incredible results: on single core the iMac scored 4590 vs 3463 of the Mac Pro. On multi core, the iMac scored 12243 vs the 6855 of the Mac Pro. Huge difference here. In summary were extremely happy with our product. Next time around we would buy the SSD option though.

Great monitor and speed for my projects

This iMac replaced an 8 year-old MacBook Pro whose 2nd set of RAM chips died unexpectedly. Being retired and no longer having the need for heavy-duty computing mobility, I decided to return to my habit of Mac desktops started back in 1980! The 27" monitor is plenty big to accommodate having multiple apps open and the chips are up to multitasking. The Migration Assistant is almost pain-free. CAUTIONS: The QuickStart guide doesn't clue you in on the fact that there are On/Off toggle switches on the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and they need to be turned on BEFORE you power up the iMac the first time to enable pairing; BEFORE using Migration Assistant, ensure that the OSX version on your new iMac is the same as or later than that on your source, otherwise the migration process can mess up the Photos libraries and not enable you to access your pictures in the Photos app; even with a seemingly trouble-free migration, some of your permissions might be messed up and you'll have to tinker with things. Even with all of this, I suspect this process is much easier than anything in the windows environment! Seriously consider this iMac, especially since you will have the ability in the future to increase RAM up to 32GB. Enjoy!!

    monitor hinge breaks

Heard a loud crack from the next room. The hinge on my 27-inch screen broke. Now the tilt can't be adjusted, it tilts down. Research online shows many other customers are having the same thing happen. Manufacturing defect using a plastic piece to hold such a heavy monitor. Apple denied that it was a "program repair" issue. I'm out of my warranty. I strongly believe this repair should be done without cost to the customers.

My husband strictly wanted Windows PC but I convinced him to switch to a Mac...easiest set up ever. Opened box and was up and running within in 5 minutes. Love it with my iPhone...I can respond to text messages, FaceTime, and make calls all through my computer!

    Easy Windows Conversion

My Best Buy on-line purchase and shipment was without issue. Once the iMac arrived, I was able to convert from my Windows PC to the iMac much easier than expected. Between the Apple provided conversion software, Apple Store Workshops, and Internet articles, no functionality was lost. The one issue encountered, was from the bundled Trend Micro Internet Security software. It caused an issue with the operation of my Epson v370 Photo scanner.

I purchased the iMac 27", which was refurbished Geek Squad certified and it's like brand new. It took a few days to get used to the size (it's a BIG screen) but I love it now!
