Nice Display ,Not fast!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our first Mac and it definitely is not an easier platform than a PC. Sales person said it will blow your hair back fast. this is totally false. Like any new device I'm sure it will take time to get used to it.

Fantastic desktop computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer in order to edit photos in Photoshop. This computer is absolutely perfect for doing that. The screen resolution is great. Photoshop does not lag on this computer. I upgraded the memory from 8 GB to 16 GB.

Not worth the investment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.not worth the investment, to own a imac with minimal upgrade then it sucks for spending $2k, build a hackintosh instead....

Amazing Display
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this while Best Buy had it on sale recently for a great price to replace my 2011 model iMac. All I can say is that it's more than worth it simply for the incredible retina display alone. A comparable 5K display costs as much as this iMac and doesn't include the integrated computer like this system does. The retina 5K definitely lives up to the hype and is easily the best display I've ever seen. Overall system performance is fast and the RAM is also easily user upgradable all the way up to 32GB. The included Fusion Drive with 128GB of flash storage combined with a 1TB 7200rpm HDD is noticeably faster than just having a hard drive alone as well.

Imac 27 5K Retina with Fusion Drive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a long time PC user and love Windows 10, but I also have a love for Apple products. I purchased the new Macbook 12 inch just recently and loved that product so much that it led me to to consider buying this Imac. I was looking to change my windows computer for a while and debated if I wanted to spend this much, but once I saw the computer in person and saw the 5K Retina screen I was sold. I do recommend that you get the Fusion drive which combines a 128 SSD (Very fast-faster than previous version-(read speed over 710mbps, write speeds over 630mbps) and a 1 terabyte mechanical drive. The OS and frequently used programs are stored on the SSD while other files are store on the mechanical drive-still a fast 7200rpm. Anyway, I am very happy and installed Windows 10 via boot camp for programs that I need that aren't available yet on Mac, The best of both worlds. Also, no matter how you view it, gaming is much better on the Windows side and the upgraded AMD processor runs all my game at 1080p and higher with very high frame rates...I was surprised at how well it plays games. With that said you wont be disappointed: great screen, great I5 processor, Fusion Drive, the ability to load Windows 10 and the stability and friendliness of the Mac OS.

Exceeds Expectation.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I found out all my classes would be online this semester I decided it was time I gave into my desire to have a desktop. I wasn't sure if I needed this "nice" of one, but with how quick technology upgrades, I decided to go with the latest and greatest. I have used this iMac every day since it arrived (a couple weeks ago), and I am still in awe. I love everything about this computer, Apple has proven itself again. I've used Mac's since I was 5 (I'm now nearing 30) and I am never disappointed with the quality. I can't get over how clear the images are, it's almost like I'm really there. I love to take pictures and videos just for fun, and I couldn't be happier with the clarity this desktop offers. I can't wait to start my classes, the screen is huge, and allows me to have several apps open and visible at the same time. I'm so glad I purchased this iMac, it will definitely be beneficial and make my classes easier to complete.

Best computer I've ever owned!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.5k should be standard in today's day and age. Retina imac can handle anything you throw at it and then some. It's also incredibly light and sturdy (I have to move it around a lot) This is a real throwback to the good ol days of Mac, because to be honest, windows is killing it now too and they need to stay competitive.

Apple does it again!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This iMac is beautiful. I haven't had a Mac since they were still on OS 9, so I was a little nervous about making the switch after all this time. But, since Ive been using iOS for a while on both an iPhone and iPad i figured the learning curve couldn't be all that bad. I was right. Not only have I gotten up to speed quickly, I barely had to do anything to get it set up. Even the packaging was a masterpiece of engineering. I thought music was going to start to play when I opened the box.. Once I turned it on it asked me a few questions and then Poof, it was done. On top of it all, the screen is AMAZING! I hurt my eyes trying to get my face close enough to the screen to actually see pixels and whether its my age or the fact that its a freaking 5K monitor, I couldn't see them. Needless to say I'm very pleased. and they created a very easy to use app that just worked to transfer my important stuff off my pc. It just had to be on the same wifi network. I downloaded a small app from apple for the pc then they found each other and began the work. It did take about 3 hours but it moved about 600 GB worth of stuff, so it was fast as far as I'm concerned. the continuity stuff is just cool. phone calls, text messages, and web pages just appear on whatever device I'm using. it wasn't cheap but i don't think ill need a new computer for a while.

Just a fact check for people who don't know
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BestBuy isn't always great with the descriptions of their products, as this is labeled as a 1TB "Hard Drive." This actually comes standard with a 1TB "Fusion Drive," which actually makes a massive difference! Just another perk to buying this terrific machine. I'm getting one from my HS graduation in the next week or so and I'm stoked; great computer! :)

Worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worth the money that was paid for. Picture is super clear. I play starcraft and the game quality is excellent. I think i wont need to purchase another pc for the next 5 + years. I have a few friends that have the older models and they have never had an issue.

Great Computer.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am usually a laptop user but decided to try out a PC instead and the price comparison for what you get with the PC vs laptop was such a great deal. I changed from a Dell Laptop to Macbook Pro in 2009 and loved my MacBook Pro. I dropped it and had to decide whether to replace it or go with the iMac. The convenience of the wireless keyboard and the mouse make it easy for me to use even while in my hospital bed. Love my new IMAC.

Expensive but worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer to compliment my MacBook Pro and IPad Air. The wife and I have pretty much gone totally to Apple products and this computer will not disappoint. Due to a health condition with one of my eyes I have difficulty with viewing small screens for prolonged durations. I went to Best Buy and compared the 27" IMac to the IMac Retina and I will assure you that there is a difference in how crisp the text appears on the screen. Not only that but viewing detailed images on the screen will blow you away. If you are a photographer the Retina display is great for photo editing! I do recommend upgrading the memory as you will see a noticeable difference in performance compared to the standard 8gb. Finally I love the design. No silly towers taking up space and no ugly cables all over your desk!

Display is breathtaking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a pc and replaced it with the imac, serious upgrade. The display is unbelievable, the processing speed is awesome, a lot of money but so worth it. Set up was a snap and I love being able to look up a web site on my ipad and the same site at the same place I was at is available when I log onto the imac (too cool). Great machine highly recommend.

Great Hardware, Operating System is a Step Back
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the huge screen and quick harddrive and the Blutooth keyboard works great. The original Trackpad that I use with another computer worked great but the new MagicTrackpad 2 will not operate anything but the pointer and click button. After exchanging for another with the same results, was told by Apple that I would have to upgrade to El Capitan for it to work correctly. Yosemite came on it and is a step back from Maverick [which I still use on another computer and like much better] in operation. My wife downloaded it and hated it so reinstalled Maverick. I can't go back on this new computer, unfortunately, since it came with Yosemite. I am waiting until user reviews improve to upgrade. Apparently users like El Capitan even less. It seems like Apple, since Jobs left, is allowing Windows user derision to cause them to start "Windowising" OS and I left Windows computers years ago because of the overcomplicated and problematic Windows system. And don't start the Windows fanboy harassing because I was very capable at straightening out the problems [in fact had friends always calling me to fix theirs] but I use my computer to make money and having to patch on it costs me time and money. STOP IT APPLE. Jobs said simple and intuitive is best and he was correct [unless, of course, you love the ego trip of everyone thinking you are the guru who will save their computer]. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of Yosemite and clicked yes on recommend because a choice is mandatory but that is only because the alternative is Windows.
