I had repaired them temporarily with electrical tape and that worked for awhile. When one of them failed I decided to buy two new cables. I bought the Apple Replacement cables in open box which saved a little bit of money. The cables came very quickly and were in boxes that all looked brand new. They work just great!

Original Apple Cord is the best cord

However, I keep coming back to the Apple brand. Others are not always effective in the charging or break very soon after buying them. Apple products may be slightly more pricey, but well worth it.
