I have been using the cheap cords to charge my iPhone and iPad and having trouble with slow charging and messages saying they are not compatible. OK so some work. But I decided to get a spare Apple cord to save the hassle. Verdict - Both charge faster and stay charged longer now. I'll never go back to the "FAKE" cords or chargers. Thank you Best Buy for setting me straight again.

I was debating between this and the Insignia (BB brand). I ultimately went with the Apple just because of name/brand familiarity. It's only $5 more to get the true Apple cable, so it just seemed like the better option. Nothing special about the cable itself - it's the same one you get in the iPhone/iPad box, which I guess is what makes it special - it's not different from the original.

Had so much trouble finding an IPhone charging cable that actually CHARGES! (you'd think it wouldn't be hard) But this one works GREAT! Had this one over three months so far and it's still going strong. That's pretty good for an iPhone charging cable, lemme tell ya. Don't bother buying a cheap imitation charging cord. Save yourself the headache - get this one, it's worth the cost.

I usually go for apple made products first. Not disappointed this time either.

Apple brand cords are the only cords we (my family) will be buying from here on out. The "apple certified" no matter the brand will stop working with your devidpce sooner or later -- and usually sooner!! I just wish they would make the cord stronger so that it too would not need to eventually be replaced. The 9-pin seem to last longer than the 30-pin. But it's still an issue I'd love to see resolved. Especially since the battery on our newer iphone 5 & 5s runs out very quickly so it needs to be plugged in the majority of the time.

The product works great. Frustrated that iPhone6 only works with a cord manufactured by Apple. And of course, their product is more expensive!

I think in general, a person can't go wrong with an Apple product! This charger ensures that your Apple powered device will receive the correct currents to charge without damage to the battery. Not all generic chargers pull the current electrical currents and can result in your Apple battery life diminishing. When dealing with Apple, use only Apple accessories.
