I think it is worth the additional money to buy the brand name in this case. Seems to be a superior product.

Still use this in my truck to this day. Pretty long but I wants it long so when I’m not doing nothing I can just watch movies on my phone while it charges

Despite the jokes that the Apple charging cables don't last long, I've overall had a better experience with Apple charging cords than the 3rd party charging cords bought at a dollar store, Five Below or at the gas station. 6.6' seems to be the correct length for at home use. I wouldn't use something so long for the car.

The cord is long and is apple brand. Last one I bought lasted 2 years

Hide this cord, because every family member you have that owns an iPhone will "accidentally borrow" it, as most people have the short one. This is the cord that should come with the iPhone, since Apple doesn't give you the charging brick anymore it is the least they should do.

The Apple A to lightning cable is superior in quality to other comparable brands/options. I’ve tried several different brands and can confirm that Apple provides the best products.

My wife has always wanted to be able to charge her I Phone in the car. We looked at and were ready to purchase a less expensive charger. A helpful employee asked if we could help. He indicated that the one we had selected was excellent. We asked he pointed out the differ him the difference in the charging speed. It was not that much more expensive andwe purchased the faster brand. Happy Wife, Happy Life !

Again, we all know Apple branded products are quality but overpriced. Here, you receive the comfort of knowing that this charger is not going to give you compatibility issues like off brands may...still, most off brands are just fine and way cheaper. So at full retail, go with a cheaper brand (after all, it's just a cord), but when discounted (like this one was), go with Apple for your Apple device.
