Apple Cord Quality

The reason why is the other day, I plugged it into my iPhone 6 Plus and got the Not Certified message and it would not charge the phone. Took several retries to get it to stop giving that error message and begin charging again. At the moment it's charging without issue but YIKES! What does that say if even Apple's own charger malfunctions like this.
