    This Apple branded works reliably. My wife needed a longer USB cable for her iphone and tablet. She bought a non-Apple cord and it wasn't reliable. In fact, it seemed to be excessively hot near the lightning plug. I bought her this Apple cord and it works perfectly without worrisome reliability or excessive heat. It costs more, but peace of mind and reliability trumps cheap junk.
