For some reason charging seems to work better with the branded cable, as well as battery preservation. Definitely worth the extra $$ to get a cable that will last longer!

You can never have too many charging cables

You cannot go wrong with the official Apple product, and you know it will always charge properly. Some knock-offs will not and can potentially damage your device even. Very happy with this cable.
