Sometimes they would work. Sometimes they would not. The Apple cable works every single time. Buy what you know will work.

A cord any room should have

The outlet is so far away from my bed that I need something that can reach past my nightstand, curving around it so that I can set my phone on the surface. I highly recommend it.

Handy longer cable!

I have enjoyed the extra length for that.

Finally a long cord!

I don't like knock off chargers because they can cause problems if you try to plug them into a MacBook, so this Apple branded extra long charger is the way to go!

Great Cord Length For Charger

The cord length allows for the phone to be more usable while charging. I prefer this length over the original length that comes with the phone. I highly recommend it as a second option.
