I like having a longer cord when I need it. These seem to work fine and last as long as any others. They don't last forever though, but I do give them a lot of wear and tear.

Hide this cord, because every family member you have that owns an iPhone will "accidentally borrow" it, as most people have the short one. This is the cord that should come with the iPhone, since Apple doesn't give you the charging brick anymore it is the least they should do.

The Lightning Jack is only used by Apple and they contain a chip that will determine how the jack connects to your iPhone, etc. The Lightning Jack has multiple pins on either side of the connector, but only the two outside contacts per side are designated plus or minus to start with, and when you plug in your device, the Lightning Jack chip negotiates which other ones are in use. One of the dirty little secrets with 'Apple-compatible' products is that there are a multitude of 'knock-off' 'lightning jack' chips out there that work for awhile, but some subtle change (upgrading your iOS, etc.) will tell the chip to respond differently, and if the chip isn't legit, then it may not know how to communicate with the device and not negotiate the pins separately. Of course, some legit manufacturers use legit chips from approved Apple vendors, and they will always work properly. Some cheaper ones (like many you see online) will use the knock-off chips and you may have them work for awhile but then mysteriously quit, and unfortunately they won't tell you that they're using an approved chip, but if you see the MFi (made for i-device) logo they are required to be legit. This cable is legit and will work.

I was in need of a new cord for my iPhone 7 so I went on BestBuy.Com to see what was offered. After finding this cord online I had thoughts that the length of the cord was too long so I went to the actual Best Buy store, purchased the cord and it is perfect. It gives me plenty of reach where ever I decide to plug it in and recharge my phone.I will never buy the shorter cord again.

aving gone through three of Apple's power cables in the year since I bought my iPad due to the notoriously flimsy connector at the Lightning end of the cable, I came looking for *anything* with better construction. This cable is brilliant, plain and simple. The connections at both ends are designed to completely eliminate the flexing issue that causes Apple cables to separate from the business ends. and the braided nylon sheathing promises to make the entire cable last longer. Great design, low price. Way to go
