I started off with the iPad 1, traded to an iPad Mini, and bought an used iPad Air from a friend. This by far and away is my favorite iPad I've ever had. Its thin, its fast, it lets you multitask. When the iPad 1 came out I always wanted a good pen for school and this lets you have it now. The optional keyboard cover is great. No batteries to deal with and its very lightweight for travel around town. The speakers are the best I've ever had a in a tablet and better than a lot of laptops I've used before. The screen is wonderful and a joy to read on because of the way it adjusts itself to the surrounding light. Overall, I really love this iPad. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

The iPad Pro is state of the art and the Best Buy tech was very knowledgeable about the product. I couldn’t be more pleased.

I was sooooo glad to see that Apple had made the iPad Pro smaller. And I'm thankful that Best Buy had it on sale at the time of my put purchase. I'm enjoying my purchase just as I type.

First off, I'd like to point out that I tend to love Apple products, but that I have never had much love for the iPads. They just never fulfilled a particular need that I had at all. I returned my iPad 2, iPad Air, and iPad Pro 12", and I have generally stuck to my MacBook Pro for photo and video editing and other major work, and an iPhone for everything else. In fact, I loved my iPhone 6S Plus! It was almost everything I needed and fit in my pocket! And until now, I thought I would want nothing more.
Alas, Apple goes and does what they always do: release another shiny, new product. And then I start drooling. However, I have learned from the past, and asked myself if I could reasonably afford an iPhone AND an iPad. I couldn't find anything that I would want to do on the iPhone that I couldn't do on an iPad. In fact, everything that I used my iPhone for (calling, texting, web browsing, news, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Netflix (thank you to T-Mobile for Binge On!), Camera and Photos, music, Waze, Google Maps, Notes, FaceTime, MS Word, banking, and misc. time-killer games) is actually easier for me on an iPad, believe it or not. I can type faster and see much better with the larger 9.7" screen, but I also have the benefit of having access to both iPad and iPhone apps, vs just iPhone.
So I went in to a local Best Buy (after calling a million nearby stores, nobody seemed to have the exact model I wanted... popular model apparently and I wasn't willing to wait!) and traded my iPhone 6S Plus for an iPad Pro 128GB Wifi+Cellular in Space Grey, and paid the remaining difference. Once I pulled the trigger, I popped my T-Mobile SIM card in, cancelled my phone line and added a data-only line. I make calls and texts through Google Hangouts for free, or I also use iMessage and FaceTime (I love the way everything syncs to my Macintosh through the apps and I can go to gmail.com and make calls and texts from my browser). Apple Music, Pandora, YouTube and Netflix stream free (I went through 44GB of data in a month using those services alone) and everything else is just as well as if I had an iPhone - just bigger.
Granted, I cannot put it in my pocket. This was intentional. I found myself nearly always on my phone in some capacity or another, especially when I'm in social situations. This makes me lose situational awareness and disconnects me from the rest of the world. Once I started noticing this behavior, I started to wonder if I needed this constant connection to the Internet, or if I was missing out. Now, I carry it around with me (which isn't at all bad, especially when grocery shopping and using Reminders/Notes) or shove it in my backpack when I'm on my motorcycle. In the car, it keeps me from texting and driving, and with the tablet car mount off of Amazon for $25, I can control music and Maps in the car. Paired with a $9 case just to protect from scratches, I love this setup.
I also happen to love being able to edit movies through iMovie, which I don't do very often, but it's nice to be able to manipulate videos on this size screen. Much more convenient than my iPhone was. The four speakers are absolutely phenomenal: loud, crisp and they sound as though they're surrounding you. I would rather watch Netflix on this than my MacBook Pro Retina (and the Mac is no slouch!), it just blows the iPhone out of the water (of course). And the screen is absolute magic: sharp, true to life color, sensitive. Touch ID is always great, very quick, and I love that apps are starting to integrate it now, such as the Capital One app. It's very thin and light overall, and with a CPU, GPU and front & back cameras that are on par with the top of the line iOS devices that Apple has to offer, you're missing out on absolutely nothing. In fact, the cellular chip within this device is actually faster than the one in iPad Pro 12", and has more cellular bands, not to mention the more advanced camera.
All in all, I love my iPad. I use it for 95% of everything I need a device for - Photoshop is one of the only things I cannot beat on my Macintosh. And for me, it’s been a great replacement for my iPhone. Especially since I pay significantly less monthly for my data plan through T-Mobile to do the same thing, and don’t need a device in my pocket every moment I’m out of the house. Is replacing your phone with a tablet going to everyone’s preference? Absolutely not. But it works for me, and I have absolutely no regrets with my wonderful iPad.

Battery Life is Still Awesome

Upgraded from an iPad Air (Gen 1) Wifi to this. Wanted to be able to use cellular data when i was on the go, but wasn't sure about battery life. One of my favorite things about my old iPad was being able to go days at a time between charges, and I worried that the cellular might kill the battery substantially faster. That is not the case. I use it about an hour a day, and can still go most of a week between charges. Seems to lose less than 5% a day when idle.
Outside of that, its exactly what I expected. Faster for sure, and I think the screen is nicer. Can't put my finger on it, but it just looks... better than my old one. Anyway, I paired it with one of the smart keyboard cases which is also awesome. I'm very happy with it overall.

I purchased the 9.7 iPad Pro w/WiFi & Cellular to replace my 1st generation iPad and am totally blown away with its performance. It is a great size, lightweight and has the best resolution/display, camera, sound.
Am so glad I opted for the cellular feature as it allows me to answer phone calls and text messages. It is the most used item in my household especially when my grandchildren are visiting.

The iPad Pro 9.7 incorporates a great screen, fast processor, stereo speakers in an easy to use personal device. The evolution of the iOS as well as the wide range of apps make it the ideal tool for doing serious work as well as providing options for leisure ranging from streaming video to music to gaming. This iPad is as good as it gets for the moment.

Having owned several iPad models within the past few years, including the 12" iPad Pro, I would say that the 9.7" iPad Pro is the best iPad ever made - it's nearly perfect. It's the ideal size for reading, productivity, and gaming, it's compact and portable for taking anywhere, weighs almost nothing, has an awesome screen, and Apple finally supports stylus input (yes, I said stylus) and the ability to use a keyboard without having to connect it via bluetooth.
Is it a "Pro" device? ...I don't know; but, apps seem to be getting better and the iPad Pro seems to be leading the way in what mobile apps should become. Many apps are quickly adapting to take advantage of Apple's new keyboard and Pencil accessories. There's a lot that could be accomplished with the iPad Pro; however, lots of tasks, like web development still require a computer with regular OS. With that said, there are apps that would allow one to remote into their computer a home/work from pretty much anywhere, and the 9.7" iPad Pro is a good size tablet to allow for that (the 12" was awesome for remoting into a computer - I just hated how big and heavy it was).
Anyways, this tablet is awesome - and if you go with the 4G/LTE model it makes it more of "Pro" device.

I have been waiting to upgrade from my iPad2 but the original IPad Pro was too large. I can't believe how much lighter and faster it is - and the screen is unbelievable. The sound quality can't be beat. I've already watched more videos on it than my old iPad2. Well worth the wait and investment.

I purchased this iPad day 1 and have been absolutely blown away. I have had every iPad with the exception of the iPad Air 2. I decided it was time to upgrade from my iPad Air and I am glad that I did. I was able to land the Apple Pencil and Apple Type Cover at the nearby Apple Store and they are both excellent paired with this iPad Pro. I am typing this review with the type cover and it feels great. I highly recommend the type cover by Apple. I considered upgrading to the larger iPad Pro when it was released, but it was just too large. I had a feeling I wasn't alone in feeling that way and that eventually Apple would come around and they did. In typical Apple fashion they shorted this iPad in the Ram department, but so far I haven't noticed. If this is something that bothers you then you can certainly wait for the next iPad Pro 9.7 as it will likely have 4gb of Ram. However, I am more than happy with the current iPad Pro as is. I have found that the Apple Pencil when connected via Bluetooh does drain the battery faster, so I would recommend if you are not using it to turn off Bluetooth. However, know that if you shut off Bluetooth you will have to pair the pencil again by plugging it into the iPad. No big deal, but the ability to just turn off the Pencil when you are not using it would be nice. At the end of the day I would not hesitate to recommend this iPad for those looking to upgrade. I, also, have the latest MacBook Pro and a 2010 iMac i7. My desktop isn't used much and my MacBook Pro is being used less now that I have this iPad. I do not think this iPad will be my only computer, but I do think I can perform 80% of my daily computer tasks on it. I hope this review helps you in your decision. Thanks for reading.

I have had every version of the ipads since there existance. The Ipad Pro 9.7 is very superior to all of them. First the screen with the sensors that change the screen to match you surroundings makes the screen so natural looking. The brightness next to my ipad retina blows the retina ipad away. The speed is quite noticeable. There is not one this that I don't like about this ipad, oh yeah I forgot to mention the tremendous sound you get out of it. I would highly recommend this to everyone.

Purchase made as an upgrade to the 4th Generation iPad. This time, went with Wi-Fi + Cellular. Blazing fast speeds at all tasks. Good (not great) battery life with cellular enabled. Turn off cellular mode when not needed to get great battery life. Smaller form factor then previous model; but still feels good in the hands. Makes the 4th Generation iPad feel like a brick (it's that light). Better multi-tasking abilities than with previous generations.

Love this new Ipad pro. I have been using the original iPad and Ipad Air and now upgraded to iPad Pro. Huge change from the basic model. Love the camera clarity - was able to see a big difference in the Face time clarity. All the Apps work seamlessly and a good size too. I was debating myself whether to go for the bigger iPad or this new 9.7 inch. Glad I bought this new model..better pixels, good storage and at the right cost. Great job Apple.

I don't see a whole lot of difference between iPad Pro and my other iPad Air, yet better camera, better sounds, and iPad pro is faster. I also purchased the pencil which I really love, the down side on that is the pencil also has to be charged. Wish they would come up with a good cover that would also store the pencil without the fear of loosing it.

I was looking for a new iPad after my last one was violently destroyed by a child in my life. I knew I wanted a larger one than my old iPad mini but not one that was too enormous. This iPad is perfect. Plenty big to search the web and watch shows but small enough to not be clumsy. I went with the cellular version even though I do not have it connected to a data plan. The GPS functions ( not available on Wi-Fi only iPad) still work great whether connected to a network or not and it works great off my cell phone hotspot.

Coming from any ipad less than an Air feels like a night and day difference. Quick, light, loud on sound, and sharp. The best tablet on the market today. The Ios operating system is fantastic and crisp paired with the quick hardware, it's a one-two punch. Can't wait for an Apple Pencil to try out on this. Size is perfect, not too big, not too small. Mr. Jobs got the size right from the very beginning.
