Two years ago, when the iPad Air 2 came out, I "settled" on an iPad Air (upgrading at that time from an iPad Mini). It was a great jump. This recent upgrade from the iPad Air to the iPad Pro is jaw-dropping. I never really felt like my iPad Air was slow but when compared to the iPad Pro I think differently. This iPad is one of the zippiest tablets I have owned. It opens apps incredibly fast and without any delay. It is thinner and lighter than the iPad Air I used to have. And the speakers . . . WOW. I love the fact that there are four speakers. They play from the top whether the iPad is held in portrait or landscape position--and the sound is incredible.
I'm not one who tends to try to stay current with technology. I'm usually okay staying ~ 1 year behind what's current in order to get a better deal. But with this recent upgrade I'm as thrilled as can be. I feel like everything on this iPad runs faster and smoother than any iPad I have previously owned. And with the Apple Pencil (reviewed elsewhere) this iPad is (in my opinion) one of the best upgrades yet.

Battery life is just amazing,10 hours plus. The lowest I got was 7 hours but due to heavy gaming (Hearthstone and Zodiac). Bought the lightening cable to transfer pictures (127 pictures in 1 min or less). Multitasking is just like apple promised. It works. No slow downs so far. Never have to worry about closing any windows or anything of this sort. Camera is phenomenal. Best in the market. People criticize the iPad Pro for not being a laptop replacement but that isn't true. This is a laptop replacement. You can do so much with this and only the people without knowledge won't get the full potential out of this tablet. Between running applications like word, excel, listening to music and growing. I was able to get around 8 and a half hours of battery and finish a beautiful presentation and add pictures that were beautifily edited and transferred from my Sony camera to my iPad Pro. All that in one charge. Beat that Surface Pro Users. The new display is just gorgeous and speakers are loud and clear. Also I recommend getting the 128 gig model. Do not get the 32 gig because you will be struggling to add apps and content. I know it's more but if you really want to take advantage of the pro version 128 gig or higher is the way to go.

I recently upgraded from an iPad mini (original) to this iPad Pro 9.7' because I was needing more storage. My daughter has this iPad in Rose Gold and liked hers a lot, so I got the same, but the gold color. The screen is a nice size for all aspects of the iPad... playing games, viewing photos, watching videos, and surfing the web. The 128GB is plenty of storage and I chose that storage capacity as I have kept iPads for several years, so I wanted plenty of memory. I also decided on this iPad because I have an iPhone 7 Plus and the screen difference between that and the iPad mini wasn't very much.
I like that it is light weight and thin. Adding a protective case does make the iPad a bit bulkier, but if you are prone to dropping it or if it can fall off of something easily then I would go ahead and get a case.
The Internet connection is pretty fast (may depend on your Internet service as well). The sound quality is good and the true tone is nice as well.

Have been using my iPad Pro 9.7inch for about 3 months now and love all the features. Awesome speed, great stereo sound and a beautiful screen. For me this is the perfect size and weight. Easy to carry around.. Great battery life and tons of storage on the 128gigs.

Being an owner of the iPad Air 2 I wondered if it was worth it to upgrade. The answer is a resounding yes., The ability to use a pen on the screen is very helpful. Also, having the option to attach a keyboard that doesn't require Bluetooth is very convenient. The speed of the chip is also very fast. I'm actually typing this review on the Pro. It may not replace your PC but for those who do casual web surfing, editing word documents, browsing photo albums, checking and replying to e-mails, iMessage, answering phone calls, etc,, then this is the one for you. The screen is incredible and battery life is pretty good. Again, the processor is very fast and the RAM amount is more than enough for daily needs. It's very light and portable and if you do not need the 12.9 inch sized version then this will suffice over and over.

iPad Pro is a great tablet! We have had multiple tablets over the past few years but after switching to the iPad I would never go back to any other type of tablet. The iPad can pretty much do it all. It takes great pictures, and has a ton of storage for photos, games etc. Sure it costs quite a bit more than other tablets but it’s worth the price.

Replaced an ipad mini 2 with ipad pro 9.7.
Pros i noticed in my few days of usage:
1. its blazing fast, thanks to the A9 chipset.
2. Screen even though glossy, is noticeably less reflective than any of the other ipad models.
3. Camera a 12mp shooter is pretty much in 6s territory. great shooter.
4. Battery life is great, get about 11-12 hrs of usage (mix of watching video, browsing and other stuff) on a full charge.
5. Great speakers, 4 of them and with a hint of bass. Changes acoustics based on the way the ipad is held (vertical or horizontal)
6. Smart connector for keyboards. Not sure what are the other use cases for the connector; but seems like peripherals dont require another power source if it can connect using smart connector.
Cons:
1. Only 2GB RAM, wish it had more like the 12.9 inch pro.
2. Camera optics does not sit flush with the body, not a big deal but feels like a handicap.
3. Doesnt come with the fast charger like the 12.9 inch pro.
4. Design pretty much that of an ipad air 2
i would recommend an older ipad users to upgrade, but if you are currently using an ipad air 2, i would say wait for the next iteration.

This is my 4th iPad over the years, and they keep getting better. The last two times I upgraded because I was running low on space. 128Gb should hopefully hold me for a while, I was struggling on 32Gb on my iPad Air. I really didn't have any issues with the Air's performance but moving up 2 generations with the Pro has certainly helped. The 2 window multi tasking is nice, and battery life is great as always. I spent a long time debating the 9 inch vs the 12 inch model, and ultimately I went with the 9 due to weight - this thing is very light and comfortable and I can hold it for hours without fatigue.

So I had been using a 4th generation iPad with Retina (IPWR). Always liked that one but with the release of iOS 10 I felt the aging of the hardware. I even had to downgrade to iOS 9 to restore responsiveness. I had been wanting to upgrade to a more current model but this really helped to motivate me to upgrade to the iPad Pro (IPP). The benefits are below.
Size: Overall size is significantly reduced. Yet the actual screen size is larger. It’s 1/10th inch shorter but nearly an inch less wide, primarily due to a reduced bezel size. It’s also about 1/5 lb lighter.
Display: The wide color display doesn’t not present a significant improvement for my purposes, but it is still Retina resolution so everything from web pages to photos are always crisp and beautiful. Text is clear and easy to read. Where the retina really shows it’s beauty is when I compared it to my mom’s 2nd gen iPad. Makes that one look downright nasty.
Performance: As compared with my previous, the increase in processing is very noticeable. With iOS 10 my IPWR was bogged down. Typing in text to a web form or other application would result in long delays between tapping the letter and it actually appearing. No delay at all on the IPP. There is also significant improvement in the responsiveness of games, rendering of web pages and all other functions.
Audio: Okay, you’re only going to be able to do so much when the form factor is this small. But the IPP’s four speakers create much better sound with a noticeably wider range. Low end sounds are most noticeable. And yes, Virginia, it still has a headphone jack. Especially important when I’m a passenger in a vehicle and want to listen to my vast music library.
Cameras: Wow! I’m still amazed that the 9.7” IPP has a better camera than it’s big brother the 12.9”. The improvements of True Tone flash and noise reduction make for much better photos that my IWR. Face detection is near flawless. The front facing camera is a huge upgrade as well. 5MP on the IPP which is much greater that the 1.2MP of the IWR or even the 12.9” IPP. The Retina Flash feature does help a lot with low-light, close shots and selfies. But don’t be unrealistic and expect it to fill in the background with brightness.
Wi-FI: This unit shines here. Whether I connect to my Airport Express Time Capsule or the WiFi supplied by my AT&T router, the signal is strong and fast.
TouchID: Ah…..perhaps the most welcome addition of upgrading. I did have to make two attempts to get my prints fully registered. But once setup, it’s working flawlessly. I can touch it from multiple angles and orientations and it recognizes my print every time. It’s so nice to be able to unlock my device with such ease and reliability. I’ve been missing this on my IWR ever since my first experience with it on my iPhone 6. It’s also nice when developers utilize this feature as well. I no longer have to enter my credentials every time I launch the App Store, my AT&T app or my banking app.
Other items to note:
The improved motion sensors, accelerometer and the addition of the barometer make other apps more reliable and responsive. iOS 10 features like split screen and swipe over and Siri are very helpful to me too.
I opted for the 128GB model and having the extra storage really pays off for me. My iCloud photo library is over 30GB and music about 25GB. And I don’t even keep all of my music on it, by choice.
For me, the only negative aspect is the battery. I would happily trade the thinner case for more battery life. It’s not at all bad, but IMO you can never have too much battery. :)

This 9.7 inch iPadPro is the perfect size for me. And the display is absolutely awesome. Bought the 128gb model, and have plenty of room for all of my music, photos, and apps. I didn't think I would need the 4 speakers, but they are pretty awesome too. I bought this to be able to use at home, and to put my work calendar, contacts, notes, and emails on. Plus I wanted to be able to take it to meetings to take notes too, so I bought the Smart Keyboard too - it's just the right size for carrying around, and the keyboard makes a great cover too. (I'm writing this review from it using the Smart Keyboard!)

I have been debating getting an iPad for years. Since purchasing a new home, I've decided to go ahead bc I can use it control/take advantage of all the tech we have. I chose the iPad Pro bc I didn't want to wait for the next iPad Air and wanted something that was future proof. The pro is fast, battery lasts for days with everyday average use, and has been everything I want it to be! The screen looks great, it doesn't get hung up on any of the apps or browsing, and works great as a bonus "remote" for the house.
I would say that my my biggest gripes would be the OS and the accessories. It at times feels Ike it's just a larger iPhone, which works in some instances, but I would love to treat this more like a more versatile replacement for my laptop. As for accessories, I passed on the keyboard (mostly bc of actual use vs expense) but did get the pen which was worthless! It was always dead, a pain to charge (especially while out and about), and most of the uses I bought it for have work arounds.
All in all I would still highly recommend this product!!!

The Ipad Pro (128 Gb memory) is significantly faster than our existing Ipad Mini in all aspects of operation. Its size makes working on documents and spreadsheets much easier than on Ipad (yes...I did those on Mini). Was going to purchase 12 in Ipad...but after reading reviews re portability, and in store testing writing docs and reading websites...thought the Pro likely more useful and much easier to handle. The first Pro developed a sticky Home button after 1month (believe highly unusual if Mini sturdiness and seemingly invincibility are a reflection of Ipad quality).and BB replaced it on the spot under warranty..no questions asked. BTW...I had purchased a new HP laptop 3 months prior to the Pro...the HP went back for warranty repair twice..lthe second time it was announced by HP as nonrepairable (bad motherboad), so because I had Geek Squad warranty coverage BB allowed me to transfer all costs of the HP towards the Ipad Pro...an immense upgrade in useability and ease of use. I am now truly an Apple product convert! Also, needed an Airprint capable printer to pair with our Ipads...so purchased a Brother inkjet printer. Miserable product..poor print quality compared to old Canon inkjet, and Airprint from Ipads was unpredictable. BB allowed an immediate return and refund with which I purchased a Canon TS6020. While I did have some problems setting up the Canon (could have done in 30 min if not following the documentation..and ink cartridges and printer heads had to be cleaned multiple times before working properly), the Canon is far superior...in print quality and ease of use with Airprint and I was very surprised to see that "all I expected" to be printed actually was..and with great clarity and quality of images and text. So, Ipad Pro and Canon TS 6020 are excellent products and I am extremely grateful for the ease of service with BB own warranty coverage and service!

If you're on the look-out for a new Apple tablet, then you'll probably be wondering whether to pony up for the huge iPad Pro 12.9 or keep things a little more compact with the 9.7-inch version. Both are great, but cater for very different audiences and come in at varying prices. While the 9.7-inch iPad Pro has a smaller and lower resolution screen it retains the same pixels per inch (PPI) of the 12.9-inch variant and that means it looks just as sharp. Screens aren't just about resolution and the small Pro has a fantastic LCD panel, probably the best we've ever seen on a tablet. For a start it has a huge colour gamut – that's the range of colours it can display. This means it can display a more varied range of colours than the bigger screen can, and it can do it more accurately too. That's great if you're a designer.
The newer iPad Pro also comes with a great trick called True Tone. This adapts the colour-tone of the screen based on the ambient light around you. It makes reading in bed or lower light a lot more comfortable. If you're a designer and want perfect colours you can turn this off.
The cameras are also much better on the smaller Pro. In fact it has the same front and rear facing cameras as the iPhone 6S. That makes it the best tablet to take photos on bar none. By comparison the 12.9-inch model is years behind.
Finally there's the size to consider. I found the smaller iPad Pro a great deal easier to transport and to use when out and about, particularly on a plane where the large iPad Pro just wouldn't fit comfortably on the folding table.
If it sounds like I'm recommending the 9.7-inch iPad Pro over the big one you'd be right, in most cases it's better and it's cheaper.

Great "Desktop" replacement

I'm writing this review based upon switching from a full fledged WIndows 10 desktop to an all iOS based environment using the iPad Pro 9.7.
The iPad Pro 9.7 is a great upgrade over the Air 2 with respects to horsepower, battery life and overall use, I feel that Apple really created a beautiful product that can take advantage of many productivity apps and accessories to truly make this a "desktop" replacement. I use the term "Desktop" loosely though as the iPad is great in may regards to video editing, word processing, browsing and audio/video playback though Windows 10 or MacOS would be better for a person looking for the true desktop experience.
I however was looking for something where I can be synced with my contact (that is in the iOS) world without having to deal with Windows, by attaching a Microsoft Universal Keyboard I can use it with my iPad to write documents, chat via iMessage or Facebook and keep a very minimal footprint on my desk.
The iPad is extremely quick and hardly ever struggles to keep up with what I want, what really is cool is that this iPad has quad speakers so you will always have the best sound no matter where the iPad is positioned. I feel that this is a better tablet than the 12' since it's the best of both world really... not to small and not to big.
Yes, the touch ID sensor is the same one found in the iPhone 6 it is quick enough for my needs. The camera though is extremely beautiful and is very quick.
All in all, I'd go with the 128GB vs the 32GB so you can keep media (pictures and videos) on the device itself without worrying about space.
Highly recommended.

Works Great. This tablet when combined with the optional pen allows for very precise drawing. This was the main reason we picked this tablet over other devices. The camera takes good pictures. The size is great for on the go use. A relative of ours has the bigger version and it seems cumbersome in comparison. It seems to charge quickly and the charge lasts a good amount of time. We took a trip the day after we got it, 3+ hours each way plus time visiting family, and did not need to plug it in until the return trip. It streams videos nicely. On the downside it is expensive. It also would not stay connected to our home network until we upgraded our router to a newer one with the newer security WPA2 settings. This was frustrating since it would disconnect from our network every 2 minutes. A new modem/router fixed this but was an additional expense on top of the tablet. Overall we are very happy it.

This iPad is the best update to Apples iPad lineup since the retina. It has all the awesome features of the big iPad Pro in the most perfect screen size. This is the main reason why I purchased this product after returning the larger iPad Pro. The Apple Pencil is a must have to fully experiment with this iPad's capabilities and innovation. The four speakers make music sound very nice and clean while the application Procreate combined with the pencil unleashes the Picasso in you. Always make the extra efforts to get the 128gb version of this and you won't regret it. Although all apple products aren't budget friendly, the cost of these machines is justifiable due to perfect and flawless OS apple delivers once again without any disappointment to customers. Perfect 10/10 review!

I've had an iPad (2nd generation) for many years and still love it. However, I had to upgrade when it started to slow down. The iPad Pro has been amazing. I love the screen, new functions, responsiveness and processing speed. It's been perfect for work and grad school - it is light weight, easy to travel with, and I can do almost everything on it that I can on my laptop.

I had gone back and forth between the iPad Air 2 and this iPad Pro before landing on the Pro. It's everything I'd hoped it be. The Pro is light, fast, has good battery life, and a great screen. I don't know that I necessarily need all of the advantages it has over the Air 2, but feel confident that this should be a good travel companion for me for a good number of years.

I purchased the Apple iPad Pro 9.7 to replace a Samsung (Android) tablet that ceased working when my cat knocked it off a 2-ft high coffee table onto a carpeted floor -- extra sensitive components, I guess!
I have one of the original (1st Gen) iPads, and it still works great, so I decided to give the newest generation iPads a try.
The new device is excellent and has better than average battery life, but it's a bit pricey compared with the capabilities I had with the Samsung tablet for about half the cost. I really like the iPad Pro, but there are a few features of the Samsung that I miss.
Still, I wouldn't discourage anyone from purchasing the iPad Pro ... it's fast, the size is really convenient, and nothing compares with Apple quality and support.
