Not a laptop or an iPad Replacement

My review is after about 3 months of extensive use on this. I purchased this unit and the iMac 27" to see if I could successfully use it as an laptop replacement. My job requires working a lot on Office Applications and I travel to customer sites. So the idea was that for heavy work I would use the iMac at home (I have a PC at work) connected via Microsoft OneDrive where I would store my project files. When ready, I could have my iPad only when visiting customers or traveling, access same files via Office Apps on iOS and modify, create and present as needed. I expected not doing an extensive amount of work while on the iPad. In addition this should replace my iPad mini. I did buy the Apple Keypad. Given the above "idea of use", here are my thoughts: Cons: a) Not an iPad mini replacement. While smaller and lighter than a traditional iPad, this is still a large tablet and not easy to use one-handed; b) The Apple Keypad only allows a couple of variations of sitting the tablet up and none of them provide the correct angle of view for lap or desk environment - angle is too high. Birthing issues like the original Microsoft Surface had and which were handily solved with the variable kickstand. What happened to market research?; c) The keypad is not great for typing - keys are too close together and it is not backlit - so nearly impossible to use unless you are sitting under a bright light and/or have slender pianist type fingers; d) Neither the iPad Pro or the Keypad include a holster/slot for the Apple Pen (50% chance of losing it); e) The Apple Pen is massive and not comfortable to use for note-taking at all (is quite good if use it as a digital brush) Pros: a) Retina screen is incredible; b) All the iOS apps including Microsoft Office and Check Point VPN work perfectly and seamlessly, while connected with OneDrive (or your choice of cloud storage); c) Since my iPad Pro with keypad is the size of a 50-page notebook I don't need a bag anymore. Just carry it and a functi-function dongle and I can go to customer sites, take notes, and present slide decks etc. easily. Just don't assume you can write a book. The touchscreen allows for diagrams and arrows etc. in the midst of the notes; d) battery seems to last forever - easily complete a full day of work; e) Quite sturdy - while experimenting with one-handed handling in week 1, I dropped it from about 4 feet up. Took a small ding on the edge, but screen is fine and everything is working splendidly. So if you are looking for a decent full-size tablet, highly recommend it. Not quite a laptop replacement as yet.

Works great has a really nice screen! It multi tasks really well and am super happy withers performance on the jobs I need it to do. I like the full processing word, spread sheet and presentation software it comes with. And just how fast it does everything task. it not a full laptop but it sure does a lot more than I really thought it would.

    IPAD PRO for Work

I have an IPAD 2, and a newer Ipad Mini already. I needed something faster and wanted to try out the ipad pro. It's a fantastic device, and I couldn't be happier with it. I like to markup PDF specifications at home, and sometimes count devices on plans using Bluebeam Revu. The Ipad Pro works just as good as my laptop. I now take the IPAD PRO to meetings instead of the laptop. I was able to print to my printer at home and both printers at work although I have not yet figured out the "plotter". I am not using AirPrint to the printer, I am havng to convert to PDF (really easy hidden feature on IOS, click "airprint" and then swipe out) and then use an app called SharpDesk Mobile to scan the PDF image and send it to the printer. it has a couple of extra steps versus being able to airprint, but at least I can do it. I am quite impressed with all the extra functions I have learned I am able to use it for. I bought it just to read PDF specs on the couch.. it does a whole lot more than I thought it would and a lot of the software I am already using works perfectly on it. Going forward, I will always have the latest IPAD PRO version in my bag of tricks.

I've had my iPad 2nd generation forever. It stopped supporting updates so I needed a new one. I mostly use it for games, document processing and volleyball stats/video. Works really fast and is nice and light weight. The size is perfect for my needs. Any bigger and I might as well have a MacBook. (Which I already have :p).

The smaller IPad Pro is great. The processor is fast and the camera takes great pictures. The four speakers make sound awesome. It is very light and portable. The screen resolution and colors make the screen appear crisp and very easy to see and read. I had an iPad Air and this was worth the upgrade. The rose gold color looks awesome.

I have thee other iPads and they just keep getting better. The screen in amazing and it is so much faster that my others, even the iPad Air. Well worth buying and this is just the right size. The larger iPad Pro is just a little too large for me to handle.

The iPad is fast and very responsive. The displays is gorgeous with new features such as true tone. The battery is AMAZING it last so long I can't believe it. I bought this iPad to take notes for my classes and it has been an AMAZING experience. Buy an Apple Pencil and you set for life with this IPad Pro.

Bought this ipad to replace a stolen ipad air 2. Pretty similar to the air 2 except it's faster (probably mostly because it's new) and the upgraded camera is nice. I also went with a larger storage option 128gb this time around which I recommend as apps seem to take up more and more space. No complaints so far.

This is the second iPad I've bought. The iPad Pro does it all. I use it mostly for work and love it that I can take handwritten notes with the same speed and ease that I could on paper. I also use many business apps and work on the go. It's so much lighter and just as powerful as my laptop. It's great.

This iPad is amazing, light weight, fast, and charges much more quickly than my previous iPad. I recommend it for anyone that prefers something smaller than a laptop. The available pencil is a very good addition for those who are creative on demand, students or those needing to make notes or designs.

I really like my iPad Pro. It's fast, takes great pics, and has ample storage. But is it worth the premium price over an iPad Air? For the things I do with the iPad, it's marginal.
