I went from an iPad 2 to this iPad Pro and couldn't be happier.

Now the 9.7" pro is on promotion to make the cost to close to that of iPad 2017, while it's features are much better than those of iPad 2017, such as the A9x processor, the TrueTone display etc, so this is an economical purchase if the new 10.5" pro is too expensive to you. The 9.7" pro possesses almost all the features that the 10.5" has.

This iPad Pro is a phenomenal workhorse. Though it only has 2GB of ram there have been no signs its suffering. I've run t through the gamut of multi tasking and split screen usage. The new A9X processor is a beast. Everything is very fluid and smooth. We bought the Apple Pencil and thought I'd never care about it but it's so cool. It's not just for drawing. You can navigate and use it to interact on all levels with the screen. Yes the cost s higher now than the two year old Air 2 but the specs on this will future proof your needs for years to come. Apple optimizes their apps for efficient ram management, something Android doesn't do well at all. This means with 2GB of ram you're getting the equivalent of approximately 4 gb of ram performance found in an Android tablet. The 12.9 iPad Pro has 4gb of ram but much of the extra two gb's goes towards powering the larger, more pixel dense screen. Yes it does benchmark a little higher than the 9.7 but the real world differences are not noticeable, and unless you need the larger screen this is the perfect size for weight and portability.. The base cost did go up $100 but the base of the Air 2's storage capacity is half of the Pro. So you get 32gb instead of 16gb for $100.00. Plus all the other extras and upgrades in a better screen,camera,processor etc,etc,etc.. But the capacity alone is worth the extra $100.00. The new trutone screen is excellent it adjusts the white balance to the ambient lighting of every room you're in. That means the screen will look more natural and white. There are so many other features that make this a worthy upgrade. No complaints whatsoever.
