I have the Sony Xm5 as well and its little more bass, where the Apple has more clarity. You would be happy with either but for the Apple loyalist these are prefect. Find some online video reviews and understnad some of the complaints before you buy. The issues where minor for me and I've looked pass it to enjoy them.

They have good sound quality and EXCELLENT noise cancellation. If you have an iOS device then setting up is a breeze. However, I can only somewhat recommend these if you get a good price match or they’re on sale. I paid $429.99 with a price match. At that price, while still overpriced, I can live with it.

These are the most unbelievable, amazing sounding, crazy good noise canceling headphones on the market. Get them on sale and spend the extra money! You won’t regret it
