Q: Can you be heard while talking on the phone? I want people to hear me talk crystal clear.
A: The Airpods Max have a microphone, and it is quite good. A bit better than standard Apple headphones, or even the microphone on the Airpods Pro.
Q: Can I get geek squad protection on them instead of Apple care?
A: No. Apple forces all third-party retailers to sell Apple Care protection plans only. Third-party stores cannot offer their own protection plans for any Apple products.
Q: What is the sound of these headphones in gigabytes per minute?
A: This will depend on what you're streaming through your connected device. Airpods Max can listen to very high quality audio that has been encoded in Apple's proprietary codec, as well as higher quality "lossless" audio files which are generally larger and will use more of your data, but this isn't related in any way to the actual Airpods Max. They will receive the maximum allowable bandwidth of bluetooth, which Apple has said they wish was higher. Forgive me if I misunderstood your question, hope this is useful.

Say Yes To These!
First, I am 69 years old. I narrowed down my headphone purchase to the AirPods Max or the Sony WH-1000XM5. I headed to the store to compare them. I immediately liked how the AirPods felt on my head; cushiony, secure, with wide, comfortable headband that felt undetectable. The Sony XM5 felt too plasticy. The ear pads were too close on my ears. The headband was narrow and bothered my head. I decided on the AirPods which had to be ordered as no blue in stock. I paired them with my iPhone and LG OLED TV. I always have them on because I can understand better with them (think hearing aid). Always use them when I vacuum. Great noise cancellation, almost perfect. Love the music. The case is fine. I charge them when they get low. Be careful when flattening the ear pads as they bang together when putting in and out of case.

I found what I have been waiting for.
I can't say enough good things about the Air Max headphones, especially for travel and use on planes! These headphones are an absolute game-changer for anyone who values peace and quiet amidst the hustle and bustle of travel. First and foremost, the noise cancellation on these headphones is phenomenal. They effectively drown out ambient noise, whether it's the roar of airplane engines, chatter in crowded terminals, or the hum of public transport. This feature alone has transformed my travel experience, allowing me to enjoy my music or podcasts without distraction. The sound quality is equally impressive. The Air Max headphones deliver rich, clear audio with deep bass and crisp highs, making every song or movie soundtrack sound incredible. Whether I'm watching a movie mid-flight or listening to my favorite playlist, the immersive sound quality never fails to impress. Comfort is another standout feature. The ear cushions are plush and provide a snug fit that blocks out even more external noise passively. Depends if they fix them
Only recommend if it’s not going to put a dent in you dropping $500+ on these. Bought these as a gift for my wife and she loves them, however she’s been having some issues with them randomly disconnecting from her phone and whatever she’s listening to just starts playing abnormally loudly off her phone. Also goes in and out of awareness mode randomly. I’m actually at Best Buy seeing the geek squad about fixing them. Hopefully they’re under warranty, being a $575 purchase I would think they’d last at least a few years before having issues. Bought my first car in 1998 for less $ than that and it lasted 14 months. And that thing was a piece of s&@t!!
