The best NC headphones on the market.. for a price

As a headphone enthusiast, I wasn't very enthused with the announcement price of $550 for Apple's flagship headphone. The case is horrendous for the asking price and pairing them with an Android provides about as much use case as any other BT headphone you can buy at Wal-Mart. It's what these babies can do when paired to an Apple device that really adds some useful quirks. Right off the bat, transparency mode is the best of any headphone on the planet. It's simply mind blowing how good it is. Noise-Cancelling is not too far behind as well, besting even the Bose NC700. However, is it worth paying the additional $150-$200? If you can catch these on sale for over $100 off and have already integrated into the Apple ecosystem, I say go for it. Sound quality is good, however, they sound better with the wired cable.

Noise cancelling works great, very comfortable even for movie watching and sound fantastic with movies and music. The case is ugly and sucks. Battery life is great and connection easily swaps between devices

Bought these for the spatial audio to use with my Apple TV 4K instead of using my AirPods Pro. Theyre overpriced but I’m glad Best Buy was able to price match with amazon, use my Best Buy points and gift cards so i paid less than $400 for them. Sound is good but for those who like bass in their music id suggest the skullcandy crusher ANC that cost less than the AirPods max and skullcandy comes with wired a headphone cable as a option to use them wired instead of wireless as the airpods max doesnt you will have to pay a additional $30+ for that lightning to 3.5mm male cable or if you have a male to male audio cable laying around you can use the $9 apple lightning to 3.5mm male adapter to save some money. The smart case is terrible as you need it to place the headphones to sleep as the headphones dont have a physical on/off button. The material is aluminum and i fear they will scratch one day as when removing/inserting them in/out of the case they click on the corner edges. I will continue to use them for watching movies on the Apple TV or iPad containing spatial audio when i dont want to bother those around me and for some music that doesnt have much bass in them but for the rest of my music that have bass i will use the skullcandy crusher ANC.

Elevated comfort, premium sound. Absolutely love these headphones. The ear cushions are extremely comfortable and allow me to enjoy my own little world while using the noise cancelling feature. The only thing I would change is the ability to make them tighter width-wise. Apparently my head is smaller than the average estimation with these headphones but I’m still absolutely pleased with my purchase.

I have to say these headphones are one of the best I’ve ever owned. The sound quality is amazing and it’s fit is really comfortable. They are a little on the heavy side, but not to the level that they are uncomfortable.

Stellar noise cancellation; bass could be better

These are my newfound favorite headphones. The noise-cancelling tech is out of this world. For reference, I wore these while washing the dishes (pots and pans, no less). And while listening to music with noise cancellation on, I couldn't even hear the water running. When it's totally quiet (as in, no music playing), even with noise cancellation on, I can hear a little bit. It does sound muffled and very far away, but if someone is within arms reach and talking, there is definitely a murmur. That's why I knocked it down one star. ALSO - the bass isn't the *best*. I'm deaf in one ear and the bass in music really makes a difference for me. I was left wishing there was more. With all of this said, I also have a pair of studio beats and while those are very good too, these are way better regarding sound clarity, noise cancellation, and even comfortability because of the large size of the ear coverings. Overall, big fan.

My Space Gray ones came today. While they will never replace my Audeze LCD 3 with my Apogee Duet DAC these sound wonderful and brings the best listening experience with the Apple line. Music, movies (Spatial Sound), phone calls/FaceTime all sound excellent and the sound cancelling is the best I’ve heard. I have a huge head and these are very comfortable without being too tight and I wear thick frame glasses.. Maybe I’m used to my heavy Audeze. These are worth the $550, essential for Apple lovers. They feature neutral sound and a wide soundstage. The dynamic EQ option can be turned off in the Apple Music app. These will certainly be my travel headphones, perfect for flying and long passenger rides. My AirPods generation two now will be my activity and fitness sound option. Also, they sound even better connected to my Pono player with 3.5mm to Lightning.

    An audiophile's honest opinion...

The top notch quality of this product is evident, inside and out. From the materials used to construct the device, to the sound quality produced, these headphones are worth every penny. Even the noice cancelling feature is amazing. When you have it off, you can still hear your music crystal clear with no compromise on the quality of the sound; and when you have the noise cancelling feature on, it's practically like the world has been shut off around you. Take it from an audiophile like me (who, by the way, normally hates over-the-ear headphones and prefers in-ear earbuds), you just can't go wrong with these. Only flaw (for me at least) is it still uses the lightning charging interface, rather than a usb-c. Thankfully, Apple finally came out with ones that use usb-c now.

I upgraded from Bose 700 ANC and this one has much better audio quality and fit. The youtube reviews saying it's another level is true but it's still expensive. As with any Apple products some negatives are no power button, and the cushions although comfy are $70 to replace. Also I noticed some condensation after 2-3 hrs of use, it's almost perfect.

I'm usually an in ear headphone girlie but wanted something over ear for a change and I really love these! I've used them everyday since I got them. I'm not really well versed on audio quality but they look, feel, and sound great to me. They connect to my Macbook, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Windows PC really well!

Its very pricey, but if are in the  ecosystem then it makes a nice addition. Music and audio sounds great, comfort is easy on your head. Not a must have especially if you own AirPods Pro but great around the house.

Amazing sound quality no matter the input. Music thumps, movies are balanced, and podcasts are crisp and clear. The active noise cancellation is hands down the best I’ve experienced, I’ve been on at least 5 flights since purchasing and these are amazing at keeping those sound waves out. Spatial Audio tracks immaculately well. The battery life has gotten me through entire days of traveling. Great set of audiophile grade headphones.

Title: Exploring the Apple AirPods Max: A New Era

In recent years, Apple Inc. has continually revolutionized the world of audio technology with its innovative products. Among these, the Apple AirPods Max stands out as a testament to the company's commitment to quality, aesthetics, and cutting-edge technology. Since its introduction in December 2020, the AirPods Max has captured the attention of audiophiles and casual listeners alike, setting a new standard in wireless over-ear headphones. The AirPods Max is Apple's first venture into the over-ear headphone market, and it has been a remarkable success. One of the most notable features is its design, which combines elegance and functionality. The headphones feature a breathable knit mesh canopy, which distributes weight to reduce on-head pressure, and stainless steel frame arms wrapped in a soft-to-the-touch material for a high-end finish. The memory foam ear cushions provide comfort while ensuring a superior seal for immersive sound. From a technological standpoint, the AirPods Max is equipped with an Apple-designed dynamic driver that produces sound with high-fidelity audio. It incorporates computational audio powered by the Apple H1 chip in each ear cup, which results in superior sound quality and spatial audio capabilities. This spatial audio experience utilizes dynamic head tracking to create theater-like sound, making listeners feel as though they are in the middle of their favorite content. Another standout feature of the AirPods Max is its active noise cancellation technology, which uses sophisticated algorithms to deliver an unparalleled listening experience. This is complemented by the Transparency mode, which allows users to hear and interact with the world around them while still enjoying their audio content. This dual functionality makes the AirPods Max versatile enough for various environments, be it a bustling city street or the tranquility of one's home. The integration with Apple's ecosystem is seamless, offering users a hassle-free experience with automatic switching between devices and easy setup with a single tap. The AirPods Max also supports Siri, enabling hands-free operation with voice commands. Battery life is another strong suit, offering up to 20 hours of listening time with active noise cancellation and spatial audio enabled. Despite its high-end features and impressive performance, the AirPods Max has faced some criticisms, primarily regarding its premium price point. Many consumers argue that the cost is prohibitive, especially in comparison to other high-quality headphones available in the market. Nevertheless, for those who prioritize sound quality, design, and seamless integration with Apple devices, the AirPods Max remains a compelling choice. In conclusion, the Apple AirPods Max represents a significant leap forward in audio technology, reflecting Apple's commitment to innovation and quality. Its combination of design, functionality, and technological advancements makes it a formidable contender in the world of high-end headphones. As Apple continues to refine its audio offerings, the AirPods Max embodies the potential for future developments in wireless audio, setting a high bar for competitors in the industry.
