These headphones SHOULD be, by far, the best headphones I've ever owned. Their build quality is excellent. They are solid, albeit slightly heavy, but very comfortable. The sound quality is excellent. I originally purchased specifically for Spatial Audio use with my Apple TV, and they sound fantastic for that. Shortly after purchase they became my main headphones because I thought they sounded better than any of the Sennheiser or Shure headphones I had used for years. These headphones should be a 5/5 … the convivence of my AirPods (pair once, use everywhere) combined with better sound quality than any of my previous headphones. Instead, they are a 1/5. Why? Because they pretty much never work. The AirPods Max were my 3rd pair of AirPods, and they worked exactly as you'd expect …. for about 4 months. Then I got a software update and the haven't worked correctly since. I purchased these in August of 21. In December they got a software update. Since then they simply don't connect correctly (or disconnect) which is also a problem. When you pick them up they turn on for a second and turn off. They just don’t connect about 80% of the time when you put them on, and they require a reboot, and sometimes (at least once a week) a reset and repairing. Once connected the won't disconnect, even when you manually tell them too in the settings. They will either reconnect to the device you are on, or some other device nearby that they can reach. Since they don’t fully disconnect, they don't go to sleep, so they are dead the next time you pick them up. Pretty much every time I want to use these headphones they are dead unless I plugged them in to charge. This is how they have operated for the last 2 years. At the same time, my AirPods and AirPods Pros have continued to work perfectly. The only issues I have with any of my Apple products have to do with these headphones. Software updates have not fixed them. Reboots and factory resets have not fixed them. Multiple calls to Apple support, where we have walked through every support article multiple times have not fixed them. A trip to the Apple repair facility, where they were deemed 'in perfect working order', has not fixed them. Given the overall reviews of these headphones it's likely I got a lemon. When they actually work, they are fantastic. However, Apple's refusal to do anything about it, sticking me with an expensive pair of headphones that don't work correctly is incredibly disappointing. If you buy these headphones return/exchange them IMMEDIATELY if they start acting up so you aren't stuck with a lemon like I am.

If you want to save yourself some money get the AirPod pro 2. I bought these because they were on sale. No distinct difference between them and my pro 2. They aren’t very loud and the sound quality is no different. I was disappointed. The quandary is are the pro 2s that good or the Max headphones just simply ok but for $500 I expected more.

What to say about these headphones))) it is fantastic

Heavy, slips off the head while working out. Watch any workout reel where someone is wearing theses and you’ll notice them have to adjust everytime! Also, oddly skipping forward while playing music. Headphones on working from home, meanwhile the phone is on my desk, and the song skips forward to the next; happened 3 times before my 30 day return period expired. RETURNED!!!! And I reciebed a 25% off discount, I wanted to like these soo bad; I’m all Apple…but these…truly disappointed. Even the audio quality is subpar FOR THE PRICE!! My powerbeats pro sound much better than these.

Over all sounding and noise cancellation is good. But the price is little high.

The sound and build quality are the top of the line.
