Air Pod Max a Bit Short on Sealing and Battery
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Aesthetically very pleasing over ear headphones. Connectivity is fairly simple and the sound has great quality. I rank them behind the Sony WH-1000XM4 for the following three critical reasons: 1. Sony’s over ear headphones have more of a softer cushion that allows for greater sealing on the ears. This helps keep ambient noise out and coupled with the noise cancelling, the user has a much better quality of sound. 2. Similar to the first, if you wear eye or sun glasses, Sony’s deep cushioning has a much better sealing for the frame of the glasses. This may sound trivial, but ambient noise is very irritating when you want to enjoy truly noise-free listening. That very minute space between Apple’s Air Pod Max’s product and your ears makes a difference in the listening experience. Finally, 3. Battery life. Sony’s battery life is MUCH longer. I rarely charge my Sony (and I do use them quite a bit), while I have had to noticeably charge the APM quite a few times. With that, if you like the sleekness of the APM, go for it. Just know that the sound quality will be inferior to the Sony and you will have to charge them more often. For Apple: on the next iteration, focus more on the over ear cushioning and battery life, and your product *should* be on par (possibly beat) the Sony WH-1000XM4.

Great gym headphones
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the headphones, and I have no problems with them. I like how the fit and the sound quality are notched. I do wish they get a little louder, but that would be my only downside.

Make Sure to Weigh your Options
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When my Bose QC45s died after a few years, I decided to make the switch to Apple Airpods Max, despite the consensus that the QC45’s and Sony XM4s are some of the best in the market, especially in noise cancelling. I chose Apple due to its amazing connectivity to the Apple ecosystem and the audio quality people were praising. However, this was coming as a trade off to the superior noise cancelling, battery life, hard cases, and PRICE that the Bose and Sony competitors were flaunting. If you’re considering buying the Apple Airpod Max headphones, first consider what your priorities are. The Airpod Max headphones meet MY needs, but admittedly, I am disappointed by the lack of a hard case, the aluminum ear covers that are prone to dents and scratches, the lackluster noise cancelling, and the short battery life (especially as someone who tends to wear headphones for 75% of the day). Overall, I still am happy with my purchase and the sound quality of my headphones, but it would be a dishonest review to not mention the cons to watch out for.

LOVE them
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very skeptical about these headphones because of the price point. I originally started with the Beats Studio 3 and I had those for a few years but I felt like and upgrade could be fun. I love these headphones so much. The one difference I noticed between the AirPods and my beats was they even though they are both advertised as over the ear headphones but the AirPods are true over the ear head phones. They fit around my entire ear which makes them so comfortable especially if you have a few ear piercings. They are probably the most comfortable pair of headphone I have tried on, especially if you are wearing them for extended periods of time. My last thing I love is how seamlessly the headphones connect from my phone to my iPad and then to my Mac. That is probably one of my favorite things about these headphones that makes them better than the beats. Even thought I love these headphones I do have to say you don’t really NEED these. If you can afford them then of course I recommend them but you don’t need to break the bank for these.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are honestly the best headphones I have ever used. Annoyingly Good
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the Bose 700 as well and it’s not even close. I will add the apple features are a huge bonus. Sound is crisp and detailed. Comfortable, good looking without screaming expensive. Perfect in the apple ecosystem. I will say, if you don’t use with Apple products, it’s probably not worth the extra over the Sony xm series or Bose 700. AirPods Max do sound better, but not $200 better without the added apple features.

A major disappointment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS - More comfortable than any other headphones I've tried. - Sounds is great, but not more than the Bose equivalent. CONS - You can't turn them of. They're supposed to turn off automatically after not being used for some time, but they don't. Their battery drains as does my iPad's better, probably because they keep connecting. - quite heavy - don't fold

Love mine. Expensive but worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use mine literally every day. They have a nice metal finish and the protective case that comes with them is “Decent” is protects the finish, that’s about it. But I do use the case sometimes but I am pretty rough on headphones with tossing them in my gym bag or backpack when im on the go and they have done a good job. Battery life is great, noise cancellation is great and the ambient mode comes in handy. — For example I am a head coach of a basketball team and have to drive a noisy bus to away games, i throw these headphones on and it does a great job blocking out the noise. The ambient noise works well as well, if I am working in a public place and just need to be aware of whats going on, they work great. The price is high but I got them on sale and threw some gift cards at it as well so it wasn’t too much out of pocket.

Great Headphones
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great pair of headphones. I wouldn't pay the full $550 for it by any means, but if you come across these on sale or see it discounted more elsewhere, remember you can have Best Buy price match these headphones -- it's what I did. Perfect if you're in the apple ecosystem - switching between devices is even more seamless than with my AirPods Pro. Sound quality is excellent. Headphones are very comfortable. If they don't feel right on your head or too tight on first wear, don't forget to lengthen the band at the parts that attach to the cups. It may not seem like you can lengthen the headset, but you can. Noise cancellation is very, very good. The case it comes with is very, very stupid due to the fact it's required to put the headphones into in order for them to go into sleep mode and not drain battery faster. It's my only con for these headphones. Keep in mind, you can purchase accessories online that can put these headphones to sleep that are better than the dumb case they come with. Still, it would be nice if Apple provided a way to put these into sleep mode with the buttons.

Glad I Took The Plunge!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are worth the price! I was very pleasantly surprised with the sound quality and the overall build of the headphones. In my opinion they’re not as heavy as other reviewers said that they were and I found them to be very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I really like the fact that you can listen to them while they’re charging, major plus in my book. Prior to the AirPods Max I was using one of the Sony XM1000 models that doesn’t allow you to do so. These are definitely big headphones, so if you’re looking for something compact, these aren’t for you. Another cool feature is “Spatial Audio”. I cued up the final episode of “The Falcon and Winter Soldier” and was blown away! I was in the midst of the action! I’m not a person who has super high standards when it comes to cases for my headphones so I don’t mind the silly case Apple provides, nor do I care that they never truly turn off. The trade off you get is being able to charge your AirPods max for 5 minutes and get 1.5 hours of listening time. There are other gripes that I’ve seen reviewers have but I’m not going to die on any of those hills. These are a very nice pair of headphones and I’m glad I bought them.

Long term use may have complications
|Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned my pair of Airpods Max from the day they came out and have been extremely pleased throughout my time owning them. Sound quality is better than any other wireless headphones I've tried and used including Sony XM5s and Bose's Quietcomforts. Because of the adaptive EQ feature, these headphones adjust the sound signature to suit whatever genre of music you listen to, making them the most versatile over ear headphones I've used. The noise cancelling is also amazing, cancelling out everything that I've thrown at it while not causing any discomfort or headaches with extended use. The transparency mode is unmatched; it literally sounds like I'm not using headphones when it's on and can have a complete conversation with people while listening to music. With that all being said, I used to wear my pair everyday for hours at a time, treating it more like an everyday accessory than a casual pair of headphones and as a result the fabric portion of the headband has deflated to the point that the steel bars of the headband has begun to press uncomfortably against my head when using it for longer than 30 minutes. The issue began about a year and a half after owning and using them religiously. I was able to have the headband replaced free of charge due to having Applecare+, however, the issue happened again after another year or so. Results may vary depending on how often you use them and how long you use them for at a time, but it is something to keep in mind should you decide to make these your daily driver headphones. Long term gripes aside, these are the best wireless headphones that I can recommend.

Love it
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These over-ear headphones are acclaimed for their premium build quality, exceptional active noise cancellation (ANC), and seamless integration within the Apple ecosystem. They deliver high-fidelity audio with a balanced sound profile, making them suitable for various music genres. The AirPods Max also feature a comfortable design with memory foam ear cushions and a stainless steel frame. However, they come at a premium price point, which may be a consideration for budget-conscious consumers.

Really good headphone.. for apple products.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really good wireless earphone. Very easy to use and set up with apple products. If you are an android owner I would suggest either the Bose QC ultra or the Sony xm4 or xm5. Not that these won’t work but you will be missing out on some features (like Spatial Audio) so, I would recommend the others I mentioned. I would also look for a sale not full msrp, they are worth the price but I see a new version coming soon. So on sale I would highly recommend , anything under 500 is good. Got mine for 449, but then changed colors and paid another 30. It was worth it to me. These are very good for music, with neutral sound, but very good. For movies these are amazing! The spatial audio is apple magic. I use mine mainly for movie and shows and these work flawlessly with Atmos and Spatial Audio programming. Very comfortable as well.

Best Headphones for an Apple User
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All I can say is WOW!!! For a 1st generation, Apple pretty much hit this out of the park. If the price point was $400-$450, this would have easily gotten a 5 Star. There are a few cons that I want to point out on these. Price is the biggest con with these. I cannot justify paying $550 + Tax for a pair of headphones for a typical non audiophile user. As a normal consumer, $400 is pushing the upper limits for a pair of headphones, but because this is Apple, they priced these higher than normal because they can actually get away with it. The other cons are the case and not having a 3.5mm adapter if you want to plug it into an airplane or computer. First off, both of these are not deal breakers for me, it would have been nice for them to include a 3.5mm jack, but being that it's Apple, they will find any way they can to squeeze consumers for every last penny. The case does what it needs to for the most part. I am concerned that the mesh part of the head band is not protected at all since that's the most vulnerable part. But, this will lead 3rd parties to come up with a protective sleeve or cover for it. The AirPods Max are heavier than the competition due to the aluminum & stainless steel material used here. Apple did not cut corners when they designed this and I am glad because they do not look or feel cheap at all. Starting to see why they charged $550. They look classy in a throwback kind of way. The ear cups and head band don't protrude out and pretty much follows the curvature of your head. Despite it being heavier, the mesh band does a great job at spreading the weight out as to not develop any pain at the crown of my head. The clamping design on the ear cups will bear most of the weight. The ear cushions are nice and soft and I did not feel my ears getting hot or sticky like the leatherette ear cups on the competitions. Even though I didn't feel any pain on the crown after hours of usage, I did notice that my neck was a little sore. If that's the case, you can just lie down or lean your head back on to a pillow or something. As for the sound, these are the best sounding headphones I have owned. My go to prior to this was the B&W PX7's. I really like the sound on these because it was balanced and clean without too much bass to muddy up the sound. The Sony XM4's would be great if they were the only headphones on earth, but they are not and I am not too much of a fan of their sound signature. I feel they are a little too warm and bass heavy that muddies up the mid's and highs for me. They too also got hot after wearing for a while. The AirPods Max are well balanced with just the enough bass to give the song a little life. Although, I did wish there was a little bit more sub-bass for the rumble effect. But all in all, the sound on these are so clean and does not distort even at max level. The sound separation are so great that I am able to hear more instruments on these than any other headphones I've tried. If you have an iPhone, you can go in and change the settings around to boost the soft sounds. You can do this by going into Settings/Accessories/Audio/Visual/Headphone Accommodations. I have my set at Balanced Tone and Moderate. If you have the money to spend and in the Apple eco-system, these will be the best money spent for your ears. Just keep in mind that out of the box, they might not sound great, but after some burn in time, you will start to appreciate what Apple has done with these.

Apple - AirPods Max - Pink
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Apple AirPods Max in the stunning Pink color, and they have truly elevated my audio experience. The premium build quality and attention to detail are immediately apparent. The over-ear design provides excellent comfort for extended listening sessions, and the sound quality is exceptional, delivering a rich and immersive audio experience. The active noise cancellation is highly effective, creating a cocoon of silence in noisy environments. The seamless integration with Apple devices, along with the intuitive controls, enhances the overall user experience. While they are an investment, the AirPods Max in Pink are not just headphones; they are a stylish accessory that complements both fashion and function. If you're looking for premium sound quality and a touch of elegance, the Apple AirPods Max in Pink are a fantastic choice.
