I have way too many headphones/earbuds in my home. My wife says that I have a problem, and she's probably right. My first reaction when I saw Apple introduce these headphones was; I can't wait to try them out. I've been using their AirPods, and AirPods Pro since release so I had high expectations for them. Then, they announced the price, I had to pause. I really didn't think I was going to end up purchasing them. I do own a few headphones around the $400 mark, but the Max's price seemed a bit too high for something unproven. Fast forward a few months, and I finally had the opportunity to purchase these headphones. My curiosity won out and I took the plunge. They finally had the Sky Blue color I was looking for, and I placed the order. I have zero regrets purchasing them, and they have become my default, goto headphones. Sound quality is unmatched. There are other headphones that come close. Sony and Bose have some great headphones that cost a couple of hundred less that have great sound. Those headphones get very close to the sound quality of the Max, but the Max wins out by a bit. The Max have great, great separation, and some amazing bass. Regardless of what type of genres you listen to, you will find some nuances to your music that you probably haven't noticed before. Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode are also both amazing. The noise cancellation does a great job of muting the world around you for the most part. It struggles with some low frequencies from my experience but easily drowns out most noise. I've yet to hear a better 'transparency' mode from any other manufacturer. Transparency mode on the entire AirPods line up is unmatched. It sounds natural and not robotic/amplified. I have heard others complain about weight being an issue. The Max are noticeably heavier than most of the other wireless headphones. After using these for over a month, I can confidently say that I don't notice the weight at all anymore. I use the Max for hours on end for movies, music, podcasts, and calls and I don't have issues with them sliding around, or feeling pressure. They are comfortable for me. What pushes these headphones ahead of the competition for me are the Apple ecosystem features. The fact that they auto switch to whatever ever device I am using, iPhone, iPad, or MacBook, is amazing. Just like the other AirPods, once you pair it to one Apple device, iCloud connects it to every other Apple device. Access to iMessages, Siri is great. The connection is solid and once again unmatched. I can go outside, all around my home and not lose connection or hear stuttering/drop out when I leave my device in the bedroom. The cost is considerable, but if you are considering some of the slightly less expensive offerings from Sony or Bose, and you are already invested in the Apple ecosystem, I'd give these a chance. I am glad I did, and I would be hard pressed to go back to a different set of headphones.

I f you do not have any Apple products I would not recommend because many features only work on Apple devices Pros 1. Pair flawlessly with Apple products 2. Noise cancellation is great 3. Exceptional call quality without a microphone arm 4. Most comfortable headphones I’ve had for long periods of use 5. Transparency mode is like you’re not wearing headphones 6. The control knob and bottom provides great feedback. I prefer these to touch controls without haptic feedback. Cons 1. They can’t automatically switch between a pc and iPhone 2. The case makes no sense. I am always worried that a pen or something will get stuck through the mesh when they are in my backpack 3. They are charged with a lightning port. 4. Expensive 5. The battery percentage does not display on a pc laptop Undetermined The spatial sound sometimes seems fake

So glad I bought these! I work in an open office environment and it is always loud. These headphones are absolutely perfect! I love the mesh on the top, it doesn’t dig into my head and hurt like other styles do, even when I wear them for hours on end. And major points for them fitting comfortably around my ears, no pain or pressure points like many of the round versions. And the noise cancellation? Out of this world amazing! The battery life is fantastic, and they charge up quickly.

Excellent sound! Everything that you would come to expect from a premium apple product. Bass is not overpowering and actually adds to the crisp sound experience. Very easy to pair with apple device and also to switch devices. I have an iMac, iPad, and iPhone and am able to connect to all 3 seamlessly. to sure how it would work on non-apple devices but it is bluetooth so I am sure connectivity would not be an issue. The noise cancellation is awesome and rivals that of the BOSE headsets which actually do this the best in my opinion. The transparency mode works exceptionally well and the spatial sound is INCREDIBLE! Just like watching a movie in the theatre when watching movies and video on iPhone, iPad, or computer. Another really cool feature is that you can connect with your Apple TV to allow for a personal viewing experience that does not disturb any one else in case you're watching TV late at night. Aesthetically these things are very nice! Mesh ear cups are comfortable, though after long periods they do get a little warm. Ear cups can be replaced as well after wear, though for $60. The headset is a bit heavy due to the aluminum, but doesn't really bother me much when wearing them. One thing I would change is the case. For a $550 headset you would think that it would warrant some type of hard shell case, but you have to get that after market. Also battery lasts a while, but does drain if not placed in case, since that is the only way they turn completely off. Other than those small things I think these are an exceptional purchase and am enjoying them immensely!

I’ll keep this short. These are expensive, they’re heavy, they work really well with Apple products. They sound great and the noise cancelling is excellent. The case is dumb and the form factor is large. Comfort is good but long wear sessions can be fatiguing. Try them if your in the market and own an iPhone but also try the Sony WH-1000XM4/5s. Lastly, avoid if on Android function loss is too great to consider, default to XM4’s. Good luck.

Apple's AirPods Max over-ear headphones are a fantastic pair of premium wireless headphones that deliver exceptional audio quality, comfort, and features. Sound Quality The sound quality of the AirPods Max is simply superb. The custom 40mm dynamic drivers deliver incredibly clear highs and midranges along with deep, powerful bass. Vocals come through with pristine clarity, while instruments have excellent separation so you can hear every detail. Whether you're listening to rock, pop, hip-hop or classical, the AirPods Max renders music with exceptional accuracy and breadth. Noise Cancellation Another standout feature of the AirPods Max is the phenomenal active noise cancellation. Apple uses eight microphones combined with software to block out a remarkable amount of ambient noise, allowing you to really focus on your music or calls without distraction. The noise cancellation is highly effective at damping loud environments like airplane cabins or city streets. Comfort While some over-ear headphones can feel heavy or clamp too hard, the AirPods Max are incredibly comfortable thanks to the knit mesh canopy headband that evenly distributes weight. The plush memory foam ear cushions are soft and breathable as well. You can comfortably wear the AirPods Max for many hours without fatigue. Features Apple packs the AirPods Max full of useful features like seamless device switching between your iOS devices, quick pairing, touch controls, Siri access and spatial audio with head tracking for an immersive listening experience. The 20 hour battery life provides ample listening time and 5 minutes of charging gives you 1.5 hours of play time. Design The AirPods Max feature a sleek, stylish design with an aluminum and stainless steel frame, mesh headband and telescoping arms. Five color options are available including space gray, silver, sky blue, green and pink. A Smart Case is included to protect your headphones when not in use or while traveling. Overall, the AirPods Max deliver a first-class wireless listening experience thanks to their truly exceptional sound quality, leading noise cancellation, supreme comfort, smart features and premium design. If you want one of the very best pairs of over-ear headphones available today and don't mind paying a premium price for premium quality, the AirPods Max will absolutely delight. They are a must-have for Apple users looking for audiophile-grade sound in a wireless headphone.

I recently had the pleasure of trying out the AirPods Max in the stunning Sky Blue color, and I must say, they are a true delight. From their sleek design to their exceptional audio quality, these headphones have left a lasting impression on me. First and foremost, the Sky Blue color is simply captivating. It's a refreshing departure from the traditional headphone hues, adding a touch of elegance and personality to the AirPods Max. The color perfectly complements the premium materials used in their construction, such as the stainless steel frame and soft, breathable canopy. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, and the Sky Blue shade makes a bold statement while still being sophisticated. In terms of performance, the AirPods Max are nothing short of outstanding. The sound quality is immersive, with rich, balanced audio that brings music, movies, and podcasts to life. The high-fidelity audio combined with Apple's Adaptive EQ technology ensures that every note is crisp, every instrument is distinct, and every beat is felt. The active noise cancellation feature effectively blocks out external distractions, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in your audio experience. Comfort is another area where the AirPods Max truly excel. The memory foam ear cushions provide a plush, comfortable fit that can be enjoyed for hours on end without any discomfort. The headphones are also surprisingly lightweight despite their sturdy build, making them ideal for extended listening sessions or long commutes. The integration with Apple devices is seamless, as expected. Setting up the AirPods Max with my iPhone was effortless, and the automatic device switching feature allowed me to seamlessly transition between my iPhone, iPad, and Macbook. The controls are intuitive, with the Digital Crown offering precise volume control and playback management. Battery life is impressive, providing up to 20 hours of listening time on a single charge. The Smart Case included with the AirPods Max not only protects them but also puts them in an ultra-low power state to conserve battery life when not in use. Overall, the AirPods Max in Sky Blue exceeded my expectations in every way. They deliver exceptional sound quality, comfort, and style, making them a must-have accessory for any audiophile or Apple enthusiast. While they come with a premium price tag, the overall experience justifies the investment. If you're looking for a top-of-the-line pair of headphones that offer both performance and style, the AirPods Max in Sky Blue are an excellent choice.

I have and have had numerous pairs of high quality headphones, from Bose to Audio Technica and Sennheiser. But the AirPod Max headphones are by far the best sounding and most comfortable pair I've ever had. The sound is true and there's a good mix of bass and treble. The over the ear fit is SO comfortable! I can wear these for a long time and not have any discomfort. It's like there not even there. Great build and product. The only 2 possible negatives are the case (it's weird, only covers part of them and looks like a bra!) and the price. Very expensive. But for really high end headphones that's what you're going to pay.

These are so much nicer than expected. I own the AirPods Pro, the Bose qc35ii, qc45, Sony 1000xm4, and the beats studios. Out of all of these my favorite two are the qc35ii, and the AirPods Max. They have two very different sound signatures, and they have two very different uses. For iPhone integration the AirPods Max are phenomenal, the way they’re so seamless and easy to use on apple devices makes them my go to on the go. The sound quality is great, just make sure you adjust the maximum volume threshold within your device. The ear mapping DOES make a difference, and so does the fit on your head. I love these for the transparency mode. They’re great to use in the office and I like the ability to cancel out outside noise during meetings I also enjoy the ability to let sound through so I can be aware of my surroundings. There’s a downside to noise cancellation and it’s honestly the fear of not knowing what’s going on around me. For phone calls these aren’t GREAT. They’re good. As with any apple device I’ve ever used for calls the wired headphones are still superior to everything else in regards to call quality. For calls I use a poly voyager headset as my first go to, the qc35ii are AMAZING for calls, and the AirPods Max are somewhere last. But if it’s all I have I know they work just fine. For music they’re great. The battery life is great, and just the ability to move between devices in the “Apple ecosystem” seamlessly as long as it’s connected to your Apple ID is great. The blue color is super nice in hand and honestly stands out compare to the rest. While the neutral tones are great the blue is more of a periwinkle and it’s the best color in my opinion.

As an enthusiast of high-quality audio experiences, I recently had the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of Apple's AirPods Max. These headphones are a testament to Apple's commitment to superior sound quality, design excellence, and user-friendly features. Firstly, the sound quality is nothing short of remarkable. The AirPods Max deliver a rich, balanced audio experience, with deep bass, clear mids, and crisp highs. The Active Noise Cancellation feature is a game-changer, effectively blocking external noise, allowing me to fully engage with my music or podcasts. The Transparency mode is equally impressive, seamlessly blending ambient sounds, which is particularly useful in outdoor or public settings. The design and build quality of the AirPods Max are exemplary. The headphones boast a sleek, modern look with a robust build that speaks to their premium nature. The use of high-quality materials like aluminum and stainless steel, combined with the soft, breathable mesh of the headband, ensures both durability and comfort. Even during extended use, I found them to be exceptionally comfortable, thanks to the memory foam ear cushions.

The Apple AirPods Max are a premium offering in the headphone market, combining exceptional sound quality with Apple’s signature design and ecosystem integration. The audio experience is immersive, with rich bass, detailed mids, and crisp highs, complemented by active noise cancellation that effectively blocks out ambient noise. The spatial audio feature enhances the listening experience, especially when watching movies or playing games. The build quality is top-notch, with a luxurious feel, though the weight might be noticeable during extended use. The price is steep, but for those deeply invested in the Apple ecosystem, it’s a worthwhile splurge.

I am a bit of a geek when it comes to headphones. And the same holds true for Apple products. I have owned a pair if AirPods Pro true wireless headphones and was impressed with their innovative and simple operation but had to part with them as they did not fit well and would not stay in my ears or form a tight seal in my ear canals. The high price of the AirPods Max over ear cans really put me off the notion of buying them. And the fact that they only work with the Apple AAC Bluetooth codec, or with the lower standard SBC Bluetooth codec seemed to make the price-to-value gap even more pronounced. Last night I picked up a pair of blue AirPods Max at my local BestBuy and am completely sold on them. What changed my mind? They were on sale at what I felt to be a more reasonable price. And Apple just released its public beta version of TVoS 15 for the Apple TV 4K product which features Apple’s spatial audio with head tracking capability. Spatial Audio enabled video via Apple has been available since last fall on the iPhone and iPad. But not on Apple TV 4K. And it is also coming to the Mac very shortly, More and more Spatial Audio content - video and audio - is being added as well. Spatial Audio for Apple Music debuted earlier this month. Watching TV last night streaming “The Tomorrow War” on Amazon Prime Video via Apple TV beta Software update was a phenomenal experience with the AirPods Max. The immersive multi-channel like effect with directional tracking is crazy good. Apple TV allows you to pair two Bluetooth devices so two can watch together. AirPods Pro will also work with Apple TV 4K and spatial audio. But what about listening to music? I stream a lot of music and have been testing out various tracks on Tidal, Amazon Prime Music, and Apple Music, to rave results. I am not talking about lossless quality tracks but solid hi-fi tracks and spatial audio tracks and am super impressed with the clarity and quality of the audio. Do your own research by all means but I am sold on these. The versatility, excellent fit and finish, funky design, and ease of use across all devices is a win. I am hoping pricing will continue to ease on these as volume sales increase and Apple fully delivers on its device and content transformation plans.

I previously used the Sony XM4 and I really like these compared to those. They're pretty comfortable and the noise cancelation is great. The transparency mode on these is actually really good too. It kind of caught me by surprise! I know some people say that these are a little heavy on their head, but I mainly use these when I'm doing computer work or just hanging out so it doesn't bother me. I like to use earbuds when I'm working out so I can't speak to how these are at the gym. If you can catch these on sale or find a price match, try them! I probably wouldn't buy them at full price.

Are they worth $500? Eh, debatable. Am I mad that I bought them? Absolutely not! They are so nice. The sound quality/bass is wonderful. They are definitely a luxury item. They have a good weight to them, they’re sleek, and most importantly they are very comfortable! I can wear them for hours, unlike my airpod pros that would either fall out constantly or make my ears sore after only an hour or two. Love that you can replace the ear pads too, as I wear makeup a lot and plan on getting a second pair of ear pads for the times I’m not wearing makeup and/or sweating. I also pop them off and let them air out after wearing them for an extended time as condensation builds up a little inside under the mesh. They hold a charge pretty well too. I wear them daily for several hours and have only charged them twice. I did buy little clear Spigen covers/cases for the ear can (I think that’s what they’re called) to protect them from getting scratched or worn as they do tend to clink together when getting them out of the case. If you are on the fence and you can afford the hefty price tag, don’t hesitate any longer and buy them! I had the same wireless skullcandy headphones for like 8 years before these, and I foresee these lasting a long time with proper care and upkeep.

Overall, I would recommend, but only if cost and weight are not deciding factors for you. TL;DR: Noise cancellation - Great! I had no idea my home and office were so loud until I tried these then took them off. Noise cancelling does have a few exceptions, like running water and other high frequency sounds like dish clanking. Sound - Quality is excellent, especially for streaming video. I used them wirelessly for conference calls; they can be wired as well with a lightning to aux cable. Weight - These are quite hefty compared to similar products, weighing in at around 40% heavier than the closest competitors. For me caused neck and upper back pain after only short periods of use (less than one hour). Design - I loved the mesh ear cups compared to other over ear products I've used. I found them comfortable, breathable, and safe for my sensitive, allergy-prone skin. Price - These are immediately recognizable as an expensive item whereas competitor headphones are likely harder to recognize. This easy identification was a downside for me as I'd rather go with a set that is NOT such an obvious status symbol. Bottom Line: The hefty weight and hefty price...err, outweigh...the value for me. That said, if you are not concerned about the exorbitant cost or about putting your financial choices on display in such an obvious way, these are a great product for those embedded in the Apple ecosystem.

I was hesitant paying the price but as a professional Musican who likes to block out the rest of the world when working on a project these have been AMAZING! The sound quality is great and detailed. Great sound stage and instrument separation, The detail is pretty great as long as you don’t use the noise cancelling feature (still pretty great at isolating sound) and the spatial feature can cause some weird issues with clarity if not using a recording specifically designed for that feature. I bought the cable to use them wired but other than a little more definition of bass frequencies (and I do mean a LITTLE) I don’t notice much difference. Very comfortable for long periods, integrates well if you’re in the Apple ecosystem. I would like to have it be something that has a better way to use wired (better cable with inline mic) as I’m not allowed to use Bluetooth with my work computers or phone and that would have been a great option. Overall VERY happy with the purchase. I actually tried REALLY hard to find a reason to return them comparing to a number of other headphones I already owned and these still won.
