These Apple Headphones are really good, ive had just about every iteration of the Airpods and have had JBL wireless headphones as well but these are truly the best in class. The noise cancellation is excellent, battery life is phenomenal and the comfort and sound is superb. With that beibg said, its still not worth the ridiculous price point of $550, $399 maybe. But thats the Apple tax for you.

Easily connects to my devices. Extremely comfortable over long flights, and plenty of battery life. I was able to cover two vegas trips on one charge. My only drawback was the lack of an on/off button. The noise cancelling is solid, the ability to turn it on and off was useful for quick conversations, and the ability to pause what im listening to by removing one side of the headphones was also a really solid feature.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing these because I was apprehensive, questioning if they were worth it. After owning them for a while, I definitely like them, the best noise cancelling headphones I have ever owned. The spatial audio is amazing, they are comfortable for my use, I generally wear them for 2-3 hours and then take them off. Battery life is ok, they charge overnight so no worries there.

I’ve been extremely happy with these AirPods Max. The sound quality is outstanding, with deep bass, clear vocals, and great detail across every genre of music. The Active Noise Cancellation is one of the best I’ve used, and Transparency mode feels incredibly natural. They’re also very comfortable to wear for long periods, and they pair instantly with my Apple devices. The battery life has been excellent, and the overall build quality feels premium and durable. They’re definitely an investment, but if you’re already in the Apple ecosystem and want top-tier wireless headphones, they’re absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.

The AirPods Max is well worth the money. I’ve owned many high-end headphones, and these are my top headphones because they solve so many problems for me. I wanted headphones that I can use for Zoom, phone calls, music, gaming. I had a separate pair for each use scenario, but these solve all of my needs. I love everything about these headphones. I’ve received many compliments for the mic clarity when using the AirPods Max for Zoom sessions and phone calls. These are audiophile-grade quality headphones. I’ll put these up against some of my favorite Sennheiser headphones. These headphones are for those that demand the best in sound and mic quality. The fact that they're Bluetooth, have a seamless transition from device to device is a bonus. Buy a USB dongle--such as the Creative BT-W3--, and you're ready to use these with your gaming console of choice. Another fantastic product from Apple. I wouldn't say I like the Airpods or Airpods Pro much, but the Airpods Max is a purchase I don't regret.

Here’s the same review without the dash: I’ve been using the AirPods Max (Pink) for a while now, and they’ve honestly exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is incredibly rich and well-balanced, with deep bass, clear mids, and crisp highs, it feels like you’re fully immersed in whatever you’re listening to. The active noise cancellation is top-tier and blocks out background noise effortlessly, making it perfect for travel, work, or just focusing at home. Transparency mode is equally impressive and feels very natural when you need to stay aware of your surroundings. Comfort-wise, these are surprisingly good for over-ear headphones. The ear cushions are soft, breathable, and don’t cause fatigue even after long listening sessions. The build quality feels premium and durable, exactly what you’d expect from Apple. Battery life is solid, easily lasting through long days without needing a recharge. And of course, the seamless integration with Apple devices makes the whole experience even better. The pink color is also a standout, subtle, elegant, and unique without being too flashy. Overall, these are a fantastic pair of headphones that combine style, comfort, and exceptional performance. Definitely worth it if you’re looking for a premium listening experience.

Love the noise canceling on these headphones and the ability to toggle in and out so you can hear an ambient conversation if need be. The earpiece on these headphones fits my ears comfortably and completely. A marked improvement for sound and comfort than Apple’s in ear product with no worries about them falling out while running or working out.

Don’t read too much into the 3 star rating. This was actually tricky to choose the right rating for a few simple reasons. The AirPods Max are very, very good all-around headphones. I mean they basically cover every single base required for this type of headphone. Battery will get you a reliable 20 hours, if you’re including something like a couple long work meetings using the microphone, too. The call quality will not disappoint. Used it on a couple different devices, from everything from a basic phone call, to FaceTime, to group meetings on Zoom. And in every case, didn’t have an issue. As for music/movie sound quality, again they almost certainly won’t disappoint. They’re perfectly good. As for comfort, I found this aspect put it solidly as a serious competitor in its field. Felt plenty roomy around the ears, and nothing got notably uncomfortable after even a full day of use. In fact, the only thing I would say is a legitimate fault of it is the function/volume crown (knob) at the top. It’s extremely sensitive and you can easily accidentally crank the volume right as you’re putting the headphones on. But it’s not enough to necessarily be a dealbreaker. So if it clears every bar in its category, why 3 stars? Because it doesn’t clear any criteria better than any competitors. I think most people would find the Sony or Bose edge these out in comfort. The Sony really does still have an edge over the others. Maybe not by a mile. But a solid edge. And the call quality is just as good as others, but not necessarily notably better. I feel at this price, it should stand out as the solid best in at least one criteria. It doesn’t really have faults that are a real dealbreaker, which is actually quite impressive for a first generation product. But it doesn’t really have anything uniquely innovative. And being Apple, that does make it feel like it’s not worth the price tag. Maybe the next generation will be super impressive and innovative.

i had very high expectations for these and they quite frankly have overdelivered. First off let me try to describe how PHENOMENAL the audio playback is on these bad boys. it’s brought back a feeling of hearing some of my favorite songs for the first time as I’m hearing frequencies of the song i never knew was there. everything sounds so crisp and oh so clean even at high volume! no muddy/distortion sounding. it’s truly a profound experience. i also would like to mention how remarkable the noise cancellation is. YOU are fully locked in and it’s just you and whatever audio you are enjoying. but the option of “transparency mode” is there as well which at first was mind blowing for me lol. perfect for when you want to enjoy some tunes but also need to be alert of your surroundings. I will say there is one downfall I’ve noticed and it may not be a big issue to some but the smart case provided with these headphones is quite weird to me? it offers no protection except for the cups. i don’t think Apple hit the mark with that design. but don’t let that take away from how truly special and profound these headphones are. if you can look past the price ($550) pick these up and really give them a chance. i am excited to continue my journey with these :)

They feel soft and the sound is just perfect because you change it to different ways even to the point where you can put noise cancelation from any noise so your music will sound even better without any interruptions. Not to mention another thing I really loved was that I’m able to removed and replace the ear pads .

I have the Bose 700 as well and it’s not even close. I will add the apple features are a huge bonus. Sound is crisp and detailed. Comfortable, good looking without screaming expensive. Perfect in the apple ecosystem. I will say, if you don’t use with Apple products, it’s probably not worth the extra over the Sony xm series or Bose 700. AirPods Max do sound better, but not $200 better without the added apple features.

These headphones are worth the price! I was very pleasantly surprised with the sound quality and the overall build of the headphones. In my opinion they’re not as heavy as other reviewers said that they were and I found them to be very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I really like the fact that you can listen to them while they’re charging, major plus in my book. Prior to the AirPods Max I was using one of the Sony XM1000 models that doesn’t allow you to do so. These are definitely big headphones, so if you’re looking for something compact, these aren’t for you. Another cool feature is “Spatial Audio”. I cued up the final episode of “The Falcon and Winter Soldier” and was blown away! I was in the midst of the action! I’m not a person who has super high standards when it comes to cases for my headphones so I don’t mind the silly case Apple provides, nor do I care that they never truly turn off. The trade off you get is being able to charge your AirPods max for 5 minutes and get 1.5 hours of listening time. There are other gripes that I’ve seen reviewers have but I’m not going to die on any of those hills. These are a very nice pair of headphones and I’m glad I bought them.

The sound quality is great, and the noise cancelling works extremely well. The batteries last a fairly long time and I have had no issues with power. It feels good to put on at the beginning, but I have to say that if I keep it on for longer periods of time (1 hour) then it becomes a bit uncomfortable to keep on. The only other thing is that it doesn't pack down to a very convenient shape or size.

Great pair of headphones. I wouldn't pay the full $550 for it by any means, but if you come across these on sale or see it discounted more elsewhere, remember you can have Best Buy price match these headphones -- it's what I did. Perfect if you're in the apple ecosystem - switching between devices is even more seamless than with my AirPods Pro. Sound quality is excellent. Headphones are very comfortable. If they don't feel right on your head or too tight on first wear, don't forget to lengthen the band at the parts that attach to the cups. It may not seem like you can lengthen the headset, but you can. Noise cancellation is very, very good. The case it comes with is very, very stupid due to the fact it's required to put the headphones into in order for them to go into sleep mode and not drain battery faster. It's my only con for these headphones. Keep in mind, you can purchase accessories online that can put these headphones to sleep that are better than the dumb case they come with. Still, it would be nice if Apple provided a way to put these into sleep mode with the buttons.

Best Headphones for an Apple User

All I can say is WOW!!! For a 1st generation, Apple pretty much hit this out of the park. If the price point was $400-$450, this would have easily gotten a 5 Star. There are a few cons that I want to point out on these. Price is the biggest con with these. I cannot justify paying $550 + Tax for a pair of headphones for a typical non audiophile user. As a normal consumer, $400 is pushing the upper limits for a pair of headphones, but because this is Apple, they priced these higher than normal because they can actually get away with it. The other cons are the case and not having a 3.5mm adapter if you want to plug it into an airplane or computer. First off, both of these are not deal breakers for me, it would have been nice for them to include a 3.5mm jack, but being that it's Apple, they will find any way they can to squeeze consumers for every last penny. The case does what it needs to for the most part. I am concerned that the mesh part of the head band is not protected at all since that's the most vulnerable part. But, this will lead 3rd parties to come up with a protective sleeve or cover for it. The AirPods Max are heavier than the competition due to the aluminum & stainless steel material used here. Apple did not cut corners when they designed this and I am glad because they do not look or feel cheap at all. Starting to see why they charged $550. They look classy in a throwback kind of way. The ear cups and head band don't protrude out and pretty much follows the curvature of your head. Despite it being heavier, the mesh band does a great job at spreading the weight out as to not develop any pain at the crown of my head. The clamping design on the ear cups will bear most of the weight. The ear cushions are nice and soft and I did not feel my ears getting hot or sticky like the leatherette ear cups on the competitions. Even though I didn't feel any pain on the crown after hours of usage, I did notice that my neck was a little sore. If that's the case, you can just lie down or lean your head back on to a pillow or something. As for the sound, these are the best sounding headphones I have owned. My go to prior to this was the B&W PX7's. I really like the sound on these because it was balanced and clean without too much bass to muddy up the sound. The Sony XM4's would be great if they were the only headphones on earth, but they are not and I am not too much of a fan of their sound signature. I feel they are a little too warm and bass heavy that muddies up the mid's and highs for me. They too also got hot after wearing for a while. The AirPods Max are well balanced with just the enough bass to give the song a little life. Although, I did wish there was a little bit more sub-bass for the rumble effect. But all in all, the sound on these are so clean and does not distort even at max level. The sound separation are so great that I am able to hear more instruments on these than any other headphones I've tried. If you have an iPhone, you can go in and change the settings around to boost the soft sounds. You can do this by going into Settings/Accessories/Audio/Visual/Headphone Accommodations. I have my set at Balanced Tone and Moderate. If you have the money to spend and in the Apple eco-system, these will be the best money spent for your ears. Just keep in mind that out of the box, they might not sound great, but after some burn in time, you will start to appreciate what Apple has done with these.

I’ve had these headphones for a year and they’re holding strong. I use the almost 5 days a week for almost 4hrs a day. The battery life is great I charge mine once a week. I know when I first got them they felt tight but now they’re way more comfortable. It’s probably due to wear and tear but overall good quality
