Many appreciate its compact size and straightforward setup process, while seamless compatibility with Apple products is also frequently praised. However, some users find the price to be relatively high and express a desire for more ports. The device's performance is generally viewed favorably.

I bought this because I have a number of devices running a one time every now and then and my previous one wasn't strong enough to support them all quickly. So I was told this one would do the job. Well it doesn't, the signal is very week about 30 feet away. Not satisfied, but I reckon I'm stuck with it.

Great basic wireless router or extender

This is a great, simple wireless router to hookup and use. I bought an open box unit to use as an range extender for my existing full Airport Base Station and to put a wired printer onto the wireless network, but now realize that this unit can serve as a full standalone router. The only issue I had was that the open box unit was not reset to the factory default settings and was thus asking for someone else's password. After looking up the factory reset procedure and applying it the setup went smoothly. Given the reset procedure is pretty simple it would have been nicer if Best Buy performed the reset before resolving the unit.

This Apple product may be good 2 years ago. However, it doesn't fit well our needs nowadays. It has only 2 100Mbps Ethernet port and old technology of wireless. If you want a router that you can stream media contents or you have more than 2 wired Ethernet devices at home, don't buy it.

I purchased the new Airport Express after recently acquiring two new smart phones. My internet speed had always been good, however, these added devices had put a strain on my current set up. I had a very good Net-gear wireless N single band router connected to my 10 meg internet service. The router was less than a year old and did a good job with my laptop, XBOX360, and Apple TV. But when we added a tablet, and two smart phones to the mix, the system was having issues. I bought the new Apple Airport express because it is a new dual-band design which I read that will give the best connection to each type of device connected on the network. Set up was incredibly fast and intuitive, only taking about 15 minutes including the time it took to unhook the old setup. Using my network utility, I was only getting 144 mb/s with my old router, but once hooked up to my Airport Express, that number shot up to 300 mb/s! Web pages load nearly instantly, and all of my devices are faster! I have everything running wireless with the exception of my Apple TV which is wired directly to the Airport Express for maximum speeds to stream video. The lack of additional wired ports is the only downside to this fast, little white box. If you are wanting to have wired internet connections to multiple devices, you might want to get the Airport Extreme, but for only $99, you simple cannot beat this little guy!
