Customers consistently note the AirPort Express Base Station's ease of use, impressive range, and strong signal strength as significant benefits. Many appreciate its compact size and straightforward setup process, while seamless compatibility with Apple products is also frequently praised. However, some users find the price to be relatively high and express a desire for more ports. The device's performance is generally viewed favorably.

EXCELLENT coverage in our house

Our home has a little over 5,000 finished sq ft (3 levels) and we were having trouble with top of the line Netgear routers so we installed 2 Apple Airport Extreme routers and 1 Apple Airport Express router, for good measure. These new routers leave Netgear in the dust as far as I'm concerned. They're consistently reliable and the coverage is excellent.

My wife and I purchased this router about 2 years ago. I've never had an easier router to set up in my life. The app that you use to control the router is amazing and apple has done a great job with this. I wish the range of this router was better, but its the best router for the money that I have found to date.

I'm a big Apple fan products. I have the Apple Expreme Router. I purchase two of these Apple Express. I want my house to be fully wireless with great speed. I'm suppose to get 13Mpbs according to comast. Once I finally updated my technology and test everything. My Mpbs is now 25 (my highest). I love how everything is connect. I love it!

As with all of my apple products, this is no exception to the well-running, flawless, seamless lineup of offerings! I love it, was easy to set up, I've never had to fiddle around with it, visitors are always able to easily connect to it. It's just great!

I purchased the new Apple Extreme and decided to get this as well for a stronger Signal. Extreme works well, but if you have kids, you know that there are a lot of devices working at the same time. Purchased this for a little extra boost.

I purchased this to add the wireless network to my motorola DOCIS 3.0 cable modem. I chose this one because it has dual band and in my spacious home that gives me 4 bars in the remotest corners of the house and 5 bars everywhere else.
Also, as a techie I have multiple O/S in the environment: Windows 7, SESL, RHEL, and OS X. This router can handle disparate O/S. At $173 it was expensive and coupled with the motorola cable modem put my communications hardware at ~$260 - ouch! But I have no remorse as it has given me a rock solid wireless network.
One caveat: my blueray DVD player's wireless adapter couldn't see this router. It may be an issue with the security protocol and might be an easy fix. For now, I just used the LAN port to connect to the airport extreme and I'm okay.

I tried to set this up right next to my G & N+ dual band wi-fi. I worked for hours yet couldn't get anything but super slow speeds. Then I moved it to a totally different location in the house where I had an ethernet plug. That's when this little wi-fi came alive. I'm getting over a 9 million bit rate on wi-fi on my IPhone, IPad, & my Mac Book Pro. I'm only getting 10 million bit rate when I'm plugged into my ethernet. Now that's what I'd call screaming along! Now if only the instructions were easier to figure out. No real support other than what I found on line thanks to others who've battled the same problems I had, I'd say Apple is a failure as far as support yet once you've got it up and running nothing can beat it. I'll eventually hook it up to my 6.1 surround sound system plus a printer and hope it earns its keep. I'd keep it just for the fast wi-fi alone. Not cheap, Apple and the quality it builds never is yet I keep buying more and I'm not done. Call it our Apple fix. They make great stuff and we keep buying more. Patience has its rewards. I'm glad I kept working the problem till my Express came to life. It's worth the hassle even if the setup isn't always easy.

Fantastic product. I use it as a wireless bridge for my smart TV (that doesn't have built in wifi) because I can't run Ethernet cable across the house from my modem.
Use with other newer apple routers, time capsule, airport extreme for best results when extending a network or when using as a bridge or for AirTunes/AirPrint

Heard great things about the airport Extreme and picked one up to replace a Buffalo router that got fried in a lightning storm last night. Although the AE was quick and easy to setup... I quickly discovered that it is impossible to configure the internal interface on the AE to match an existing network's IP configuration. I have several existing devices using static IPs that are not in one of the 3 pre-configured DHCP ranges Apple provides, and after confirming with AppleCare via telephone, it is impossible to change either the internal network IP range or broadcast address beyond one of the 3 provided configurations. It's certainly not worth spending hours manually connecting to every device in my house to change their IP (and DNS) configurations just to match the AE, so this one is going right back to the store. Very disappointed.

I bought this Apple Airport Express to replace an older version unit I had sold on e-Bay, (for almost full retail price, I might add...). I use it to extend my WiFi signal from one end of our ranch style home to the other - 1700 square feet. It works well in partnership with my Apple Extreme Base Station. Set up is virtually plug and play with a few minor adjustments depending on one's personal requirements. I can watch streaming video in full 1080p hi-def on my Roku device 50 feet away from the Airport Extreme Base Station without any signal loss or hiccups (stop, start, pixelation, etc.) A great device with a powerful antennae and range for only $99. Apple got this one right, again!

I should have gone this route a long time ago. Apple products have always been reliable for me (since 1987) and this is no exception. Since I use Mac computers, it synced easily and beautifully.

This is a great router by its self or you can pair it with a AirPort Extreme like I did to boost your signal. All I did was download the airport app on my iPhone and I was up and running.
