Customers consistently note the AirPort Express Base Station's ease of use, impressive range, and strong signal strength as significant benefits. Many appreciate its compact size and straightforward setup process, while seamless compatibility with Apple products is also frequently praised. However, some users find the price to be relatively high and express a desire for more ports. The device's performance is generally viewed favorably.

Would be perfect, if not for Playstation 3

I want to keep this little Airport Express so badly because it is magnificent. However it only has one ethernet port for the modem and my Playstation 3 seems to be anti Airport I have to return it. If you aren't trying to connect wirelessly on a PS3 this thing is gorgeous. I tried for almost two days to find a solution but instead only found more people with the same issue and no resolutions. Will be exchanging it for a netgear or belkin most likely though I really don't want to.

Very good and fair for the price. Just wish it could function with batteries. Outlet for electricity is hard to find in airports.

Expensive and lags

Bought it. Spent an hour on the phone with apple trying to set it up as it was skipping horribly. Fixed it for a little. The started skipping again. Only compatible with iTunes obviously. Bought a Rocketfish bluetooth receiver instead. Like it a lot more. Would not recommend this due to its price, compatibility, and mostly the serious lag in my music.

Don't waist your money

We returned the item as the purpose for a wirless is to be able to move freely around your home and have service, this base did not provide that. Our home is only 1,200 sq. feet and we could not venture far from the base, so we had to go back to the store and purchase another which is a Cisco wireless and it works great !

Nothing but problems

Since installing this in October, we've had nothing but problems. Constantly dropping the signal (it's only about 20ft away from where we sit). I thought it would be perfect since most of our devices are Apple, but is slower than a cheaper router. I should have returned it when I could.

Does not support printing from IPad IPhone.....

I love this device for music, until I tried to install a printer so my mother could use her IPad to print directions etc... No dice. Although the box says it will allow you to print wirelessly from any device, that is not true. If you plan on using an old printer which is not "Air Print" compatible to print from you pad pod or phone than you're SOL. Dont even try it. Unless its on the approved "Air Print" List of printers you not going to get any ink on any page.
Funny thing is I can print from my mac book pro just fine, but this printer wont register on my IPad to print.... that is redic. Whats the difference?!! Lame.
one star for sure until they get that resolved.

Installation failed

I tried to install on an older (Snow Leopard) Apple to replace a previous AirPort Express that died. Getting rid of all the old settings involved hours of Internet research, and I never did get it to work. It simply would not connect with the computer, probably because there are half a dozen modes it can use and I never did guess the right combination.
I ended up returning it and getting another router.
If you have a brand-new computer and a brand-new cable modem, it should work. If you are trying to replace a dead router, find another product.

Not satisfied with speed

Somehow I'm not satisfied with this product. It's giving me very less speed. I've 150 mbps line. I do checked the speed with wired connection. but this router is not even giving half of the original speed. It's giving just between 15 to 20 mbps .. very much disappointed with this product. Actual i was there in best buy to buy some other router. But best buy representative influenced me to go for this product. I went for it upon good faith on apple brand. but it's not live up to my expectations.

Product was not designed to do what I needed done.

I live in an RV park with its own WiFi. I needed that signal boosted, and two staff members confidently told me that this Apple Airport Express would boost the signal, grabbing it right from the air. WRONG. What's worse, that was my second 65 mile (one way) trip for the project. I have not returned it yet, but will. Suggest finding independent verification for product utility for a given purpose, (in the case of aMac product, CALL Apple) before taking the word of Best Buy staff.

Not so easy setup

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
So I got this device since everyone told me its a easy setup and it's simple. When I started connecting it couldn't even connect to my internet; it told me to use a Ethernet cable to connect which I did not have since everything I have is wireless. So I had to go back to the store to buy a cable I had to return after I used it for this single purpose. Bad way to start.

didnt see how it was any better than any other router. Didnt like the fact i couldnt setup certain features like i can with other type routers. wouldnt stay connected to my directv DVR. would disconnect and reconnect every 30 mins or so. traded it for a netgear router and it nor the one prior (1st one stopped working due to old age) ever had a problem connecting to th directv

It's just basic Wifi router

Not good for a big home. It's just for basic need and it is very expensive. Bought this and returned within 15days. Better to get Netgear or Belkin routers around $50 for this same performance.
