Remarkably good full dynamic range and excellent bass even at low volumes with music. I was pleasantly surprised as just how good the spatial audio and lossless, high res, and Dolby compatible use is when available on Apple streaming. There is a reduce bass function you can use at times. I sometimes use it with the television. Excellent speakers

I now have 3 HomePods Gen 2 in my house and they are incredible for what they are. If you are in the Apple ecosystem and want something that has incredible sound in a nice-looking package, these are for you. Yes, the price is not cheap, especially if you pair them for use with your Apple TV, which I did. However, you do get incredible sound that will make you wonder how they do it without a dedicated sub. If you like Apple products, you won't be disappointed with these, especially if you pair them. They truly fill the room. The only downsides I have found so far is that you can't change the EQ on them and they won't work with something you need to plug in, such as a turntable. I've found that the auto EQ works for almost everything I have used it for, including music and movies. For my money, they are as good or better than a Sonos or other soundbars, but maybe not as much as as more expensive systems dedicated for Atmos. But at that level, you're spending a lot more and getting something that doesn't look nearly as unobtrusive.

To preface: Im a die hard Apple ecosystem user. I have it all. So naturally I was excited to try this as I like my current homepod mini that is hooked up to my Apple TV. The mini just isnt loud enough for my ADHD need to listen to music while showering.. I have a large Gen 4 Amazon Echo in the Bathroom, for this, that I was looking to upgrade. I tried this device for 2-3 weeks before returning it. For starters: the sound quality and speaker volume wasnt much better than my HP Mini, and worse than my old Echo. It also had a lot of glitchy issues with Alarm settings and other features (some of this was eventually fixed with IOS 26.2 update), but the connectivity in general to my phone and other apple devices was very lacking at times. Also, dont even get me started with how inadequate Siri is as a smart assistant. I would ask it questions to often be told essentially to reask from my phone.. if I wasn’t busy getting ready or something and could do that I wouldnt be asking to begin with. Alexa especially with the Alexa + is so much more intuitive and helpful. I was really upset because I Really wanted this $300 device to meet expectations.. I exchanged it for the $100 cheaper Echo Studio (2025 edition) that now has Dolby Atmos and am far happier. Apple really dropped the ball on this device, and Siri in general.

The only purpose this device serves is for Apple fans to buy because they could. As far as smart speaker, hubs go, it’s pretty lacking, but that’s not the hardware’s fault. The device is built well, just like any other Apple device. The quality of audio out of these speakers is fantastic, and I can see why people would use these as a home theater with Apple TV. But it certainly doesn’t replace a legit home theater system.

I have had all Apple's HomePods and do believe this one (2nd Generation) is the best! It sounds very good w/ nice bass. Some may say the price is a bit high for such a speaker. However, being a 'Apple Home' it just makes sense to have HomePods vs something else.

Bought this after loving my HomePod minis and hoped for a big sound upgrade. It does sound better, but not 2x the cost better. Returned it and got a pair of minis and am much happier with that!

Big sound, small footprint - works with all my Apple gear! Just had to let it update initially, which it did automatically once initiated by iOS. Once updated, was able to use it with MacOS. I don't really use it for Siri, just to play music. It has no problem playing from either my computer or iPhone. The sound is surprisingly loud for its size. I really like it!

Love it! Recommend you buy two for the stereo output. A single speaker sounds great as well. It’s loud, music sounds great, love using it with my Apple TV 4K for a surroundsound. Use it in my master bedroom, would sound good and a small to medium living room. Siri is not great but if you’re in the Apple ecosystem, you know that already.

Very happy with this new model! I now have 2 of these as L/R stereo front speakers, and 2 mini HomePods as L/R stereo back speakers being used with my Apple TV 4K newest model. I also have a bunch of other mini HomePods scattered throughout the house, and they all sound amazing. These HomePod 2nd Gen offer just the right amount bass with the high excursion woofer.

Immersive sound and seamless connection between my apple devices. I love the base, but I must say that the technology is old and Siri still sends you to your phone when you ask her a question which defeats the purpose of a smart speaker a little.
