Sound quality for music + capable TV Stereo pair

Sound quality is unmatched for a speaker of this size and price. They can be used throughout the house to project music and, if you purchase 2, they can even be used as deticated TV front speakers (directly competing with alternative soundbar + front speaker setups). My only complaint is that Siri desperately needs help. This is, for me, the most important limiting factor of the speaker, which perhaps would justify a lower price, closer to $250.

Easy set up. Great sound. Bass in impressive; depending on the music, you may want to use the low bass option. Happy to go this route as a better sounding and less crappy alternative to Alexa

Initially intended to use primarily to stream the audio from an AppleTV. The sound is much, much better than that from the TV; but then, several products out there offer that as well. What's so special about it are the smart features and the user friendliness. After plugging in the wall and using my iPhone, it was up and running connected to wifi and to the AppleTV in under 2 minutes.

I’ve had 2 minis for a couple of years, and yes, the homepod 2nd gen is at least 3x better. Its got clearer midrange, and wow, the low end the mini lacks is full and expressive. I got so used to the minis that the lows of the homepod 2nd gen really surprised me — so glad I bought two of them. The high end is even more impressive as it completes the audio spectrum with detail, clarity, and crispness that is completely lacking in the mini. With the same music playing on the mini pair and the homepod pair in two different rooms the difference is blatantly obvious — the homepod pair is so much better. The surround audio is amazing as the 10 tweeters of the homepod pair do an excellent job of expanding the sound stage to a very pleasing degree. I really like that I can have siri, from the homepod, play music for long periods so I don’t have to stream from a device and run down its batteries, or worse, keep it charging and ruining the battery life. I had only two related issues in setting up. My original placement of one of the homepods was appx 4ft directly in front of the wifi router and appx 2ft from a philips hue hub. The home app kept showing that the homekit devices were disconnected a lot of the time. Suspecting wifi interference I moved that homepod to another location far away from the wifi and right next to a blinky light display. The homekit devices were okay then, but the homepod would randomly come on and the volume would go to max. I suspected interference from the blinky lights and moved the homepod at least 8ft away from any electronics. This did it and haven’t had an issue with homekit or audio since. If you’ve got Apple music, a pair of homepods or at least a pair of minis is a very rewarding way to play that music and preserve your devices' battery life — highly recommended.

GAME CHANGER! If you are an Apple user, getting this is a game changer! It brings everything together so seamlessly that it almost looks like magic! I love how easy it is to pair it to my Apple TV, my phone, my laptopn, and just every other apple device out there! Sounds quality surprised me A LOT!

Why did I wait so long? This is an Incredible addition to my environment. The sound of the speakers in this system is amazing. The integration with my Apple TV+ has been insane. I’m just beginning to understand the potential and now i want to change all my Alexia over to Siri. How it works with my iPhone and iPad is so smooth. I couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase. Believe me it’s been truly a satisfying addition.

I bought two of these to use as my home theater sound setup and they do not disappoint. Audio is very sharp and the amount of bass these put out is very surprising. These worked seamlessly with my Apple TV 4K.

So loud! Originally purchased 2 for our living room, but the sound quality and volume of just 1 was better than the previous (10 yr old) Sony surround-sound system we replaced. So easy to set up, and love the additional integration of our already existing Apple Smart Home.

Sound quality is good, vocals sound great, volume and bass are also very good, definitely an upgrade from macbook pro speakers. Flaw is connectivity: always a 1-2 second lag when pressing play from airplay2. Native support for third party (non-apple music) works but super confusing to set up, really annoying. I wish it worker as easy as google speakers for spotify/tidal/youtube music. Aesthetics of homepod are also super clean and nice. Another big gripe is siri. Unexcusably bad. Siri team needs to be fired.

Wow does thing have bass. It feels solid in hand too. If you're in the Apple ecosystem, it's easy to control and route audio from Apple devices. But this thing has a permanent power cord and no audio inputs. That's a shame, because it sounds so beautiful, it would be nice to attach other devices.

I almost bought an original HomePod on eBay 3 months ago, glad I didn’t!! This new unit really rocks, it is 3-4 times louder with more bass than my HomePod mini stereo pairs. When I airplay to the HomePod and Bose wave radio at same time it’s like being at a concert. If you are all in with the Apple ecosystem and love music this is a must have for sure.

Easy setup, excellent sound. I paired it with an existing 2nd generation HomePod to create a stereo pair. Doing that makes a profound difference in the sound stage. The HomePod integrates fine with my HomeKit setup. Very happy with the product.

I use it basically for everything, from tv to music and controlling devices, being able to seamlessly use devices without issue is worth it, the only issue is that apple doesn’t allow much customization, however the quality is peak, I don’t think I would change much to make it sound better, 10/10

Sounds great, looks great, connects with Apple ecosystem, reliable. Only knock on this is Siri, but it will probably be a lot smarter when they come out with all the AI updates in Fall. Siri is good enough for now, just don't expect to be able to ask it complicated questions. It's better for controlling Apple apps than searching the web, which it will frequently just tell you to ask again on your iPhone. Overall though, we're very happy with our HomePods. I highly recommend these to anyone who enjoys the Apple ecosystem and is looking for a good sounding smart speaker. Pick up two if you want stereo sound, which sounds much fuller.

I assumed, being an Apple fan girl that this thing was gonna be amazing BUT it exceeded my expectations! The sound quality is out of this world; it puts any sound bar i’ve ever heard to shame. Especially where bass is concerned! Thunderstorms sounds at night for sleeping is a whole new world. The sound when I’m watching tv is legitimately room filling and gives very "I’m at a high quality theater". Also, the use of siri is phenomenal; i dont even use my phone to make calls anymore when I’m in my bedroom (unless i have my airpods in already). I couldn’t recommend the gen 2 honepod any more highly. You won’t be disappointed.

I have the orginal HomePods. I can barely notice any difference in sound quality betweeb the original and this 2nd generation, However, I can notice a diffence in the speed of siri and connection with smart devices. Also I appreciate the detachable power cable because it makes taking the homepod with me easier. One important to note is that you cant pair with the original HomePod to create a stereo pair. However, if you airplay from iphone, ipad, or mac you can select any HomePods you wish and play through them all simultaneously.

I like this speaker a lot for my room. I usually tell siri to play music when i come home from work and wind down. Super easy to set up and the black color looks pretty nice. The volume is perfect and the bass is great. Good speaker for any room in the house. Not too loud that it’d annoy the neighbors which i have done in the past with my other big speakers :( The speaker can play music by itself through wifi without necessarily being played directly from your phone if that makes sense. But you can also connect to it through bluetooth to play any song or video from your phone. Not sure how it works i’m not a genius i just love music.
