If Apple is already your main…

I grabbed two of these on sale, but only used one initially, primarily for music. To that end, it banged, great sound. I only recently paired the second one with the first recently, but, no surprise, bangs even nicer in stereo. The limitations to connecting non-apple products is a major drawback, but I use mostly apple products, so limits the negative for me.

    - individually they sound better than the Echo Spot, but probably more like the 2nd gen echo. - in stereo, better than either. For NPR and background dinner music it's entirely acceptable. - siri seems to be more sensitive than an echo. don't seem to have to yell at it - C did the initial setup. This was a mistake. Siri just didn't understand anything I said. Redid it and siri is behaving - Play NPR / Adele / etc works as expected - airplay is nice to have. really nice that I can just move the phone near the homepod and it transfers. doesn't work with the ipad. - Pandora is supported. That's nice. Nothing else though. But..... - if you switch the default music service to Pandora then asking Play NPR, stops working. - Play NPR One will lead to playing a song with "One" in the title. This seems to fall under 3rd party app and not supported. Airplay works fine. So these are going back into the box.

Sound quality was better than I expected. And firmware updates over the last couple of years have solve small issues I've had. Like when Siri voice was not loud enough, even after setting up as such. Also, if you're putting together a robust, thread smart home setup with Apple's HomeKit, I think its essential to have 1 or 2 of these around the house.

Good Addition to the Apple Ecosystem

It’s a good companion to the Apple ecosystem if you’re into keeping everything the same. Just hate that you can’t use it as a regular Bluetooth speaker for other non apple devices. Good sound but don’t expect HEAVY bass.

We have this setup in our toddlers room. Its loud for a 12x15 bedroom. Its convient to use siri to play music or use as a white noise machine for when our toddler is sleeping.

I have placed two of these in my office to listen to music and take calls/send text. The sound is amazing (as a stereo pair). The only challenge I run into is if someone remotely says something close to “Siri.” The speakers will pickup the voice and begin searching. Other than that, I love my mini homepods.

This product is amazing. The sound fourth size is outstanding and it comes in my favorite color orange you can’t go wrong with any of Apple products especially this one. I got it on sale for $80 for the deal of the day. Cheers.

The HomePod is an incredible speaker. It really shines when you want to listen to music while walking about in a room v. facing the speaker head on while sitting on a counch. Unlike the other front firing speakers the sound stage on this speaker is great. The bass is very fast, smooth and consistent. In my testing, the HomePods are not only better than the Google Max in terms of sound and design, but can hold their own with my KEF bookshelf’s which I paid over $1,200 for on sale! The HomePods are better for everyday listening. I have an iphone X and I have no problem AirPlaying any source to the HomePod. Also, I have no problems using the HomePod with HomeKit. In the end, Apple Music is my favorite music source so issues like HomePod only responding to music commands from Apple Music isn’t an issue for me,

This speaker is awesome as a bedside speaker. I use it to set alarms to wake up and sometimes to call family when I am relaxed in my room. Sometimes it doesn't pick up the phone calls that I try to transfer, but I'm sure that it can be ironed out with a software update.

    Very weak volume

Sounds good but it has no volume to speak of. I have two of these and both are weak. A $40 Alexa Dot outperforms it. My advice to anybody thinking of going into the Apple echo system for home control, use an Apple TV for your base. As far as apple control is concerned use your iPad or use your phone. If you’re expecting any kind of volume out of this thing I would wait until the next model comes out and hope that it’s louder. In my case, it’s too late to return them or I would do so. Don’t get me wrong: they have a very good look to them and are very very well manufactured as is typical with most Apple products. It’s just that this one is not ready for prime time. Especially not at $100 a pop apple, you can do better than this for the money.

I've been enjoying my Apple HomePod Mini. I am able to use siri to play music, do basic math, and set timers. It's like having a little assistant always with me. Siri also helps to write down my grocery items so I can remember to get them. The sound is great and helps keep me entertained while being at home.

A humble little device that's made a big difference to our enjoyment of music and our everyday lives. Asking for NPR, or the weather forecast, or some bossa nova, or a song I remember a few lyrics from; it's all just a "hey, Siri" away. A great Valentine's Day gift!

The sound is amazing. I have two of them stereo paired to my apple tv. They work great for watching tv and films in an apartment living room. Handoff from iphone/apple music works great, too. I don't use any of the smart 'ask siri' functions, so i can't comment on those. But the sound really is remarkable.

Bought during a Black Friday deal, which knocked about 100 quid off the price, making this a very good deal. Sounds better than what you'd expect when you see and handle it. Plenty loud, but not to the point of being potentially too loud. Very clear with good highs, mid and lows for a speaker it's size. Might have a hard time filling the space of a huge open room, but would be fine in most homes. Siri is hit or miss, but mostly good with basic commands (changing volume, skipping/replaying/pausing songs, etc.) and not so great when it comes to asking it to play songs by title or artist using an Apple Music subscription (often plays something very different than what I asked for). For the price I paid, I'm very happy but at normal retail price I think it's a little high for what you get, but such is Apple. If you can get it discounted or don't mind the price, it's a great product perfect for use in a fitness room, home office, bedroom or even a decent size family room or kitchen. I do wish it had a built-in battery so that it'd be easier to move from room-to-room.
