I bought the speaker to help me with my connected devices on the AppleHome app but now I just use it to stream music

Setup was easy, Siri can somehow always hear me so I never have to shout, the controls are all easy, it syncs up with my other Apple devices really really well, and it sounds way better than it has the right to. It’s super bass-ey without drowning out any of the mids or highs.

This is a good sounding speaker for its size. If you pair the speaker with another HomePod mini sounds even better. They're some issues though that Apple still has not figured out. Pairing speakers work well with iOS devices and Apple TV. For some reason pairing speakers does not work with Macs. There is delay on playing any videos on Mac with the speakers. Apparently, pairing the speakers to play with other devices is not a good idea. I have realized that this speaker is best working independently as a single or pair, then you will have a good experience.

Its awesome! it has a great quality audio, but I think it's kind of hard when you don't have an iPhone device, so I think Alexa works perfectly in that part

great sound for such a small speaker and the microphones work really well for hearing when you talk to it even with music on. I got this one for the kitchen . I have 3 one in the bathroom and bedroom. combined with my apple tv ad the surround sound speakers it fills every corner of my apartment with sound. So good smart speaker if you are in the apple ecosystem.

Great sound, easy setup, and great response from siri

I wanted to like this smart speaker. I'm totally invested in the Apple ecosystem, and thought this might be a nice addition. It was going to replace a Google Home Mini, which is clearly inferior in sound quality (not that I used it to play music anyway, but some do). First thing first: Siri is still eons inferior to Google's smart assistant, hampering this devices main function of being a smart device. Sound quality is just ok. Honestly, after having it for about a week, I came to the conclusion that it would only be worth considering had it been wireless. The fact that it needs to be plugged in makes it tough to choose as a small form-factor smart speaker. Siri is still way too limited to serve as your main smart assistant. I ended up returning it and replaced it with a Google Smart Display, which does much more for less money. Apple still gets lots of my money, but in this case, for $100 you can do much better.

The sound quality on these are decent, but if you are able to pair 2 to create a stereo sound, that would be the best scenario. Since I am in the Apple ecosystem, these are a no brainer and I like to listen to music throughout the day. They do not get very loud, but when you have multiple ones around the house, they are adequate.

[Employee of bestbuy] Amazing home assistant can do many things to help whether it be lights temperature or even play music although sometimes, depending on how many devices are connected in the house, it may get confused or just not respond at all 

Didn't think I even needed this but mano man..how did I ever live without. Great for background music during dinner, cocktail parties...or just leaving it on for the dog when we leave ...without turning on the whole tv soundbar system...just ask Siri. Just ask Siri for anything..you can even make a phone call on it ..and so so much more. Get one and you will be asking yourself how did I ever live without this?

Highly recommended. Bought this to use at my business while we work. It sounds great and is plenty loud enough to fill a room. We can turn it up to about 80% and jam out from time to time. Employees love it. I ended up adding a second HomePod Mini for stereo sound and that made the sound even better. Can't beat the price and the future proofing with Thread compatibility and the upcoming Matter smart-home protocol.

I bought the HomePod based upon two criteria: audio fidelity and integration into the Apple ecosystem. The HomePod performs flawlessly in both categories. First, the HomePod integrates easily into the Apple ecosystem. It “plays nice” with two iPhones, an iPad, two Apple TV units, and Apple Music. Setup was a breeze; it was mostly “automatic” in that regard. I had read where others had some difficulty and the setup felt “cumbersome.” I did not share that experience. The HomePod works really well with Apple Music by itself, and with Apple Play on the iPhone, it will play other streaming services and will also play what’s in your music library. Note that this isn’t through Bluetooth, but through WiFi. I use both Siri and Alexa smart services (I also have an Amazon Echo). I find that both services work equally well for me. Admittedly, I don’t have a “smart home,” and my experience with such services is limited. But Siri gives the weather, sets alarms, plays the news, answers questions, etc. as well as Alexa, in my experience. Second, the sound from this little pod is freakin’ AWESOME! I’m a professional, classically-trained musician and audiophile. While not stereo, the sound stage seems deep and spacious. The bass response is fantastic without being muddy or overpowering. The kids are clear and concise. The highs are crisp without being crackly. Overall, a very well-balanced sound. I can only imagine setting two of these up as a stereo pair. My ‘Pod sits in my office, which is about 12’ x 14’ and it fills the room quite easily with music that is linear, smooth, warm and extremely clean — even at high volume. Since the HomePod “hears” the room and its onboard computer automatically adjusts the sound output accordingly for optimal blend and balance, The music is always well-placed and appropriate for the listening space. My musical tastes are quite eclectic, and the HomePod handles most styles with alacrity and capability. The orchestra sounds like you’re in the concert hall. Choirs are transparent and clear. Jazz is smooth and clear, but warm. Ambient and spa music that includes lots of nature sounds are faithfully reproduced. It will even handle the thump and drive of dance and chill tracks. The ‘Pod is surprisingly objective in its color; it doesn’t “favor” one style over another. That said, every speaker system has its inherent “sweet spot.” This one seems to favor ambient/jazz/fusion. The response seems fairly flat to my ear, without a particular EQ tweak in any direction. Since the iPhone has selectable EQ patterns, the ‘Pod will reflect those choices faithfully. The quality of build seems typical of Apple products: robust, refined, sleek, unobtrusive. Fit and finish are flawless. The controls are touchpad type, and they work well. However, the ‘Pod shines when it comes to voice recognition and vocal commands. It has, I believe, 7 microphones, and those ‘phones will hear you — even over loud music — and you don’t have to yell! I got the Space Grey. I can’t imagine the white staying clean. The power cord is fabric-wrapped and of an appropriate length to reach to an outlet without stretching and without coiling up on itself. My ‘Pod is situated about 3 feet from an outlet, on a small table, and the power cord drapes very naturally. Overall, the HomePod is sleek, unobtrusive, and sonically refined. A very capable piece of sound equipment that not only does not disappoint, but will delight the listener. I’m thoroughly impressed with the HomePod.
