Picked up a pair of HomePods while they were on sale during Christmas. I had to update the firmware/software before I was able to configure as a stereo pair. For music, these sound unbelievable with great bass. However if you want the full functionality you must be an Apple Music subscriber. Now the downside. If you are picking these up to use as speakers for your AppleTV, I was dissapointed with the volume even turned all the way up. My budget 2.1 soundbar which costs less than a single HomePod produced much better sound quality. Overall I am satisfied with the product at the discounted/sale price, but would only recommend if you are an Apple Music subscriber, and your primary purpose is to listen to music.

Nice sound for its size. Works well with my HomeKit items.

It's not as loud as it could be. It is cool, and it comes with a 20 watt usb-c brick. Apple is also working on the software so it will interact even more with your smart phone in the future. Could be a good investment if you want to see all the possibilities apple will come up with as they continue to update it. For the price there may be options that are louder and have a display but if you just want something to control your bedroom, this will do.

This is, if you are an Apple user, one of the best speakers you can own and certainly the best at this price point. I paid over $400 for mine shortly after release with AppleCare, and with it currently going for $199 I'm tempted to grab another one. Other than Siri's imperfectness, I honestly do not have a single complaint. I also own a pair of Sennheiser HD650s with a Schiit Stack ($450), AirPods Pro ($250), have owned Bose QC15 ($300) and Beats Solo2 ($200 or something I forget) and this, throughout the entire time I owned the previous products, got the most use. My HomePod follows me everywhere I live, and it will continue to do so until it dies.

It delivers on everything, and has the best connectivity I’ve experienced in a smart speaker with a TV. If you’re in the Apple world with an Apple TV, I definitely recommend it. The base sound on this is not as full as the Echo, which is the superior music speaker. I wish the base were stronger. HomepodMini is the superior TV speaker.
