He loves the color & that he can play his music more easily. I like that I can get his attention from anywhere in the house with the intercom feature.

I am glad apple got rid of them

My main reason was to setup apple home with this speaker. I rarely listen to music on it. Good sound quality and bass. I eventually ended up buying a couple of more mini speakers to support this one. This is discontinued as of this writing.

Great sound, locked ecosystem

However, you need to be deep in the Apple ecosystem to fully enjoy using the HomePod. Apple Music support only, no Spotify, no direct Bluetooth connection, airplay only. There are quite a few features that need to be added that are coming in future software updates, so, if you don’t have all Apple products, this isn’t necessarily the best choice. For those deep in the Apple ecosystem, it’s a great device.
