I purchased a HomePod on launch day and have listened to more music since that day than ever before. I used to use Spotify, but it was never convenient to make my own playlists. I did not like Spotify’s playlists or radio, but Apple Music via Siri has been great! The radio stations stick to the genre better, and it is easy to trigger them anywhere in room with voice. Classical and jazz music sound great coming from the HomePod. The highs are very clear and the bass is solid but not too boomy. I also have a Google Home Max, so can compare both speakers. The Max has bigger woofers so it sounds better with HipHop / Rap or Electronic Dance Music. There is more bass on the Max, but the highs aren’t as clear as the HomePod. I decide to keep both... I use the HomePod mostly for quiet and calm music such as classical or jazz, and use AirPlay to stream from YouTube, Tidal, take phone calls, etc. I now use the Max for more party type music and asking Google questions. The mics on the HomePod are better than Max and can hear me at full volume, but the Max cannot hear at full volume unfortunately. I recommend the HomePod with a Google Home Mini on side if music quality is primary focus and don’t need a lot of bass and want some additinal smart features. Eventually maybe HomePod Siri will be able to handle questions better and won’t need a Google Home product also, but for now the sound is good enough alone to justify keeping it.

These are great for communicating between rooms. Love that I can play the same music throughout the house while I’m cleaning. And the keep getting better as Apple adds more with Apple Intelligence.

Another great Apple product! Smaller than the HomePod, but still very strong! Small enough to tuck anywhere.

Took one star for the HomePod not being factory reset (it was bought previously used, however bestbuy should make sure these are ready for set up) I’m happy with the sound quality and the structure of using HomeKit. So far, it’s nice seeing that it just works the way it’s supposed to, without any back sass like Alexa gives, and without trying to sell me on more stuff like Alexa. The only thing I was irritated with, was having to reset the device 3 times before it finally set up. It was initially stuck on set up for 20-40 mins each time before the 3rd reset worked.

I got these for my parents, who REFUSE to put anything Amazon Alexa or Google Home related in their home because of privacy concerns. These speakers are far better quality then the alexa speakers(who now copied this form factor). They punch far above their size in their sound quality, and are quick in responsiveness. I definitely suggest these to anyone interested in Apple Homekit, or anyone interested in a privacy oriented voice assistant(so long as you have at least one apple device).

    Great Addition to HomeKit Home

I purchased a HomePod to add HomeKit voice control for my wife since she does not own an Apple device. There were other features that the HomePod could provide that I didn't think mattered that much to me, but the longer I've owned it the more I've appreciated the other quality of life features it has to offer. For one, I find myself using it to control our smart lights far more often than I thought. It's easier than reaching for my phone, and Siri is able to hear me from incredibly far away. The speaker itself is also very good, and we listen to far more music throughout the day now than we ever did before. I've had an Apple Music subscription for a while, and now feel that I'm getting more use out of it than ever. It's also surprisingly useful for "dumb" smart things like setting timers. We use that all the time now because the alert can very clearly be heard no matter where we are in the house. Overall it's a great little smart speaker that we use more than I even thought we would. It definitely benefits you more if you're deep into the Apple ecosystem, but if you're already far enough in to consider an Apple smart speaker anyway I think it's something you'll enjoy.

If you’re in the Apple ecosystem, HomePods are a must. We have a handful of them and they are used daily. Only reason I didn’t give 5 starts, was I bought an open box excellent condition and there was no manufactures warranty, meaning they had this for while. It’s not a deal breaker by any stretch, just would have been nice to know upfront.

First thing -- Apple HomePod is meant for Apple Music subscribers and those who want to listen to music in their house in the background every day, while cooking, working, playing, relaxing and anything else you do at home where music can enhance an activity. (Dancing like no one is watching included.) Second, it is the most useful if you have Apple and/or HomeKit products. You will need an iPhone or iPad to even set it up. Siri may not be the brightest, but frankly I don't need to order an Uber, buy Amazon stuff sight unseen or have a pressing need to know a Ferret's average length. I love the HomePod so much I bought two! Yes, I am anxious for Apple to update the software for stereo and house connected music playing, but I am ok with waiting because I get so much benefit from it now. It is liberating to be able to play music - any kind I wish to hear at any volume I desire - by simply asking Siri. I love adding reminders, using the timer and alarms, and, yes, I have asked Siri to do a measurement calculation for me while I am cooking. I have Hue lights throughout the house and it is wonderful to just speak into the air and have the lights turn off or on. Does anyone really need the convenience ? Of course not. But once you get used to integrating "Hey Siri ...." into your daily life, it feels like it has always been that way. A small step towards the Jetson's way of life. Now if only I could purchase a flying car...

I love these little guys. They sync up together for my AppleTV so I get better audio that the TV speakers, and no longer need my soundbar. I also have one in my kitchen for when I’m cooking, and another in my bedroom for white noise. I can also use Shortcuts and other automations to make everything feel seemless and it all just works.
