Great sound, easy setup. I use a pair for stereo sound and as a HomeKit smart hub for home automation.

Worse buy ever. Very disappointed in apple with this one!

I own several Apple products and I really wanted a smart speaker. I listened to several other speakers in the Bestbuy store that were on display and I was not impressed by the audio quality. The HomePod was not on display so I could not listen to it in the store. However, I decided to go with this speaker because I have serval Apple prodcuts and an Apple Music subscription. I am beyond impressed by how great the music sounds! But truly the sound is beyond amazing. Siri can hear me even when I’m playing my music very loud. I can whisper “Hey Siri” and it responds. As far as being smart it seems to do everything I need. It makes calls, sends texts, alarms, reminders, timers, weather, news, podcasts, and more. And siri is the boss of finding any song I want I can just say a few lyrics and Siri finds the song, I can say “hey Siri play me songs I like” and it plays music for me. The music capbability of this speaker is just so far ahead of all other smart speakers on the market currently.

A1 to Apple, sound quality was clear not distorting noises Siri worked fine I’d recommend it not sure if it’s still being sold but the newer version would be just as this one.

Not worth the money! Not Bluetooth and only works with Apple Music .

It's probably me, but it works sporadically and not well.

Wait until it works. I returned mine. The sound is great, price is reasonable but it pauses and stops continually. I looked online and saw that many others are having the same problems. I rebooted, plugged, unplugged and changed devices from which I was streaming. The result was the same. Works for a few minutes and then goes into a routine where it plays, pauses, play, pauses, play, pauses. When it works it will be a nice little unit. Not now.

Music has too much base. Siri activates and plays garbage music

Just didn't work out for our intended use. I really wanted to like this thing. it's cool looking and it has Siri! All of my smarthome devices are tied into HomeKit and I use AirPlay for multi-room audio around the house so this seemed like it would be a perfect fit for the family. Unfortunately it proved to be a constant source of frustration and after a week of use we went back to using our google home mini, and then on black friday upgraded to the google home hub, which added a screen, and still cost half as much as this. If it had worked as intended I wouldn't have minded the cost but it just fell short. Everything we asked it to do, Siri always just wanted to send information to our phones rather than speak the answer. If I'm in the middle of cooking and ask how many tablespoons are in a half cup, google simply tells me, while Siri would say she sent a link to my phone ::facepalm:: Considering I'm able to get google to control basically all of my homekit accessories through various integrations (directly like with Hue and Harmony, or indirectly via homebridge) the only real benefit left was going to be the ability to play music from pandora via airplay to various zones in the house. This too ended up causing frustration in it's actual operation and I decided it was easier to just make each zone capable of airplay and chromecast so that google could be used. I love Apple stuff but this really missed the mark for me. Hopefully it will get better over time with software updates but for now I'll be returning mine. Also a note to all manufacturers of these little smart speakers, please give us a line output to hook up to bigger speakers!! Considering the airport express has been discontinued, it would have been really nice if this homepod mini included the combo optical / 3.5mm audio jack.

First of all, all the negative reviews on here seem to be from people who did not do their research prior to purchasing. This is specifically for people in the Apple ecosystem if you want to maximize it's potential. If you do not have an iphone/ipad and are not subscribed to Apple music, this purchase is NOT for you. The sound from this thing is AMAZING. Apple always puts out quality product, which is why people pay their premium prices. I have not had any issue with Siri, even thought I was skeptical because it seems to kind of suck on my phone. The ease with which to play music or ask it questions cannot be understated. Works flawlessly. Also connected it to my hue lights and it works great as well. I already completely forgot about my echo. If you are in the Apple ecosystem and subscribe to Apple music, you will NOT be disappointed in the sound/ease of use/quality of this product. Absolute homerun for a small portable speaker.

I buy this one open box, i't wasn,'t working,not good.

I love my home pod, the setup was as easy as any apple product, just hold your iPhone close and bam! I noticed it took a day to learn some features (such as the commands on my Dyson air purifier) but most tasks are instant...I.e. my lights, music, weather. You can switch your music to the speaker with Apple airplay but if you want to just request music you need Apple Music just as a heads up. The sound is amazing, really sharp highs and deep bass. Also the mics are really good and it is true that is will pick up your voice even with the volume up. I can request the next track with the volume at about 90% in the next room. Pretty amazing... I also really want to give credit to Ronna at the Erie PA Best Buy as she took the time to explain how the product worked and answered all of my questions. She is awesome!!!

Default piece, Apple didn’t updated software. Factory fault.

I am an audiophile with $15,000 of stereo equipment and valve amps in my primary home. I wanted something simple with reasonably good sound Quality for my vacation home to which I could stream music from my iPhone and I bought a pair of these. I bought these purely for music and not for any of the other bells and whistles. These are some of the most amazing engineering I have ever seen in any product, with absolutely astonishing sound quality. How they got such deep bass out of such a small package is a miracle . The Saint-Saëns Organ symphony is my test and these can rattle the windowsThey are not only worth every penny. They are a bargain. I ended up subscribing to Apple‘s music service as well because it is just so easy to call up any music I want by complete album.

My dogs kept barking cuz of the bass response. Not good

Small footprint on the counter and gets the job done. Good sound and answers Siri commands.
