I have been an Amazon user for years and have an assortment of eight echos, dots, shows, flexes, spots and dots. Due to loving my ipad pro and macbook pro, i tried to make the switch to Apple Home. So far nothing but headaches, glitches, and errors. Siri can rarely, if ever, communicate with my Hue bridge. Loses lights DAILY. Apple music connection is a 50/50 shot but sort of irrelevant since the sound quality on this device (and i wasnt expecting MUCH) is so bad it literally hurts my ears and causes headaches at any audible level. The fact that Apple put their name on this low-end Alexa knock-off and put a $100 price tag on it (maybe worth $15 tops) gives me serious concerns about ever making a full transition to the ecosystem. EPIC FAIL.

Great speaker. Easy to use and sounds better than bose

Disappointing. Homepod siri never knows my location when asked a question or understands English. For example, Q: What's the temp? A: I don't know your location Q: What's the temp in Bradenton, FL? A: The temp is Tallahassee, FL is 62. I ditched HomePod mini for Amazon, Alexa echo and it works beautifully.

This speaker sounds good and out of the box, it connected flawlessly. Then it disconnected. Then again. Then again. I've had to unplug and run set up three times now. And I see from others trying to troubleshoot this online that my case is not isolated.

It worked well until it started death-popping and had no bass. I had to get it repaired by a 3rd party as it was just outside warranty. I expect more from an Apple product.

I love my iPhone, but I also love Spotify as my preferred streaming platform. So if you're like me, do yourself a favour and DO NOT BUY THE HOMEPOD MIN. First, to connect the Homepod is a strugglebus of immense proportions. You can't just enable the device via bluetooth (like 99.99% of speakers) and press play. I have to turn on the speaker (if it's not already), ensure the phone and speaker are on the same wifi network, open Spotify and then click on Current Device/AirPlay or Bluetooth and then select the Homepod -- and then takes upwards of 5-10 seconds to even connect and start playing! Then when listening to music, the music cuts out/briefly pauses REPEATEDLY which is soooooo annoying.

Please do not buy this until later on in the year. This speaker can not do much as of right now and has 0 voice recognition and this isn't good because anybody can ask what your last text message was and it will read it out loud without a problem and they can mess with your phone basically. Don't get me wrong this speaker has flawless sound and has barely any distortion at max volume. But if you ask it to play a certain playlist on something like Spotify or Pandora. It will only allow you to use apple music and nothing else. Please take my word and wait until later on this year when they are updating this speaker to do more commands. if you want a good smart speaker get Google Home or Amazon Alexa. They both can do 10x more than what the apple homepod is able to do right now. and it's a lot less expensive than this (only because it's apple and they overprice everything.) If you are just in general looking for a good sounding speaker look at Bose Sony or UE. They all have good sound quality and if you hold a certain button they can summon Siri or Google.

I bought 4 of these and they sound real good when they play... But all 4 of them have connection issues. I been through Apple tech support 90 time & Apple cant figure it out. I wont buy anymore ever again. Be aware

Unfortunately, a joke of an Apple product. I love the Apple Ecosystem, but this product is the only one I have had such a negative experience with. The Airplay function does not work, and it cannot play any music from Spotify, so if you don't have Apple Music you are SOL.... I wanted to like it because of Apple's privacy settings versus Amazon and Google, but I did not expect it to integrate so poorly with my iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.

Returned it after two weeks… not worth the miney. Sounds nice but after 20 minutes it disconnects and good luck getting it to play again. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE

I have owned the Homepod of nearly 2 years now and the experience has been consistent throughout. The sound quality in my small apartment is spectacular. I have never had a better speaker. It all falls apart with Siri. For the record, I also have Alexa in my bedroom and got Google home as a gift (the small ones) so I have experience using all 3. Alexa and Google are extremely responsive. The can answer complex questions sometimes which is surprising. Siri always directs me to my iPhone to look online. Boooo. Siri will also tend to respond to the TV, even when nothing the TV said sounded remotely like Siri. I have run into trouble keeping timers, playing the right songs, adding things to my list, you name it. Siri's dumb. TL;DR, get if if it's $200 and you want an awesome speaker. If you want a good assistant, avoid this thing at all costs.

The sound on this speaker is decent. However, the controls are terrible. Good luck trying to play music on it. There are two volume buttons, but trying to distinguish between play/pause or volume is unnerving. Also there is no OFF switch. It can be set off easily unintentionally, so if you have it on another room, or outside, you may not even know its playing a random song or podcast. You basically have more control over headphones. To set it up, you must first add it to your "Home". There is no easy way to share or stream to it unless first added, which is a major nuisance. It is not portable at all because there is no battery, which makes it much less functional than the majority of good bluetooth speakers that exist today. I did not see any improvement in sound quality using AirPlay to cast to it, vs the other Bose and Sony portable speakers that I own.

I was excited to get this but then it deleted all my rooms and accessories that I had previously connected to my Home app. Now I am struggling to add all my rooms and accessories again and some of them don't have homekit codes and added automatically to the Home app before I got the Homepod but now my Aqara devices are gone and I can't add them back since they dont have homekit codes. This is not by any means easy to set up if you've already started a smart home. Now I have to start from scratch and some of my devices are totally useless because they can't be added into homekit for a second time. My Hue lights connected again with no problem. Hopefully I can get my Kasa plugs to reconnect. I regret buying this garbage.

Purchased March 17, 2018, immediately while playing first song, I wasn't impressed. Speaker doesn't sound bad, but doesn't sound great either. I definitely wasn't wowed, impressed, or blown away. Speaker does sound better than other compact speakers I've listened to, but it's nothing but a mono speaker with a little kick to it. Siri is,,,,,,well typical Siri, misses a lot of requests no matter how clear or precise I speak. Speaker is way overpriced, and personally could not see buying another Homepod just to create stereo, the cost would be insane. Everyone is not the same, what I may not like, someone else is excited over.,,,,,,With all the positive reviews, I tried it myself, and soon realized this is one time the reviews just missed it. I have to wonder, with all the positive reviews and carrying on about how great this speaker sounds, it really makes me wonder what were these people listening to before they purchased the Homepod,,,,hmmmm maybe a transistor radio or a one piece ear plug. Don't take my word for it, try it yourself.

The most unreliable products apple has ever made. Nothing works. God help you if you plan to use Siri.

The Apple - HomePod does support Wireless Multi-Room Audio. The spec is listed as a NO. It needs to be changed as a YES. A costumer was the one pointing it out on a chat support.

Best Buy customer service is CRAP! Bought “open box” HomePod mini from bestbuy.com. The speaker had former owner’s information and wouldn’t pair. I had to restore it to factory settings, which took some time. Went to Best Buy in Amarillo, TX to get discount or store credit for doing Best Buy’s job! But manager declined.
