I’m new to apple and I want to play music and answer my phone while cooking or add smart device to my home app for the iphone

I bought 4 at one time to set up as stereo pairs in two different rooms. The setup was easy. The sound is great. They work well with each of the Apple TVs they share a room with. My issue is how frequently they disconnect from WiFi. I have to restart the pairs once or twice a week. Each time I use my Apple TV 4k I have to go to the audio setting to have the sound come out of the speakers as well as the TV. Siri is not as "smart" as Alexa or Google which was expected prior to purchase. I purchased Homepod because I am so invested in the Apple ecosystem that it just seemed a natural addition. Outside the nuances, they perform exactly how I expected.

Awesome Smart speaker... I had to wait a bit but it was worth it. All of the things you see online about it are true and it is a powerful little HomePod (size of softball). I might even get another one later in the future but having one for now is plenty...

I had two on bedroom, two on livingroom and this is for guestroom. I love this thing. If you have apple TV you need this.

WOW! I love this mini HomePod. It’s mini but the sound is amazing and I can heard it with my room door closed and a few feet away. Siri is great on this as well. This is my first HomePod purchase but I am definitely getting another one for a holiday present!

It’s honestly really cool and the speakers are really good considering its size.

We use this ALL the time. We have it at home in the living room. The sound is amazing. I can see why people buy more than one if you have a large home and want the sound throughout the house. We use it with our phones, for the TV sometimes, or just using Siri. It's great because as questions arise at home, we yell out to ask Siri the answer without a concern of where our phones might be. The sound quality is very impressive and it is so small you could put it just about anywhere (where there is a plug).

I read all the "'hey Siri', is not Alexa or Google" and that is alright, I can look up things too on the internet, I'm not lazy, but the Apple Homepod is the best in this speaker class and beyond. The sound is the best, better than Bose or any other brand. I bought two and set it up as stereo speakers. Bass to Treble is beautiful and well balanced. You do feel the Bass but it's not overpowering. The sound actually feels like a 3D sound not a surround sound. I bet in the near future, they will be able to incorporate that surround sound with having multiple Homepods configuring with one another about distance and sound levels. You will love this Homepod. "hey Siri" will evolve.

I’ve gotten two of these—one for the bedroom and one for the home office. They have surprisingly good sound, though not as robust as the HomePods in the living room. These do seem a bit smarter than the original HomePods.

Fantastic. I'd been on the fence about adding a Homepod to my ecosystem for a very long time and this Homepod Mini doesn't disappoint. It provides enough sound for a 500sqft living room and responds to Siri requests even with the volume up. It didn't get 5 stars just based on not having the same Spotify support as the new iOS has.

Love this pod so nice to ask Siri to do something and it’s done and I don’t have to use a remote to do anything with you need to buy this you will not be disappointed

Great sound from two of these, crazy how good it sounds with the new tv. Plays and connects with music on phone nicely as well.

Speakers sounded great when used as surround sound in our bedroom. However, they only work through Apple TV (or at least as far as I know). That meant I had to hook up Apple TV to our smart TV which ended up messing with things. Ended up returning them because it was more of a hassle than a convenience.

if you're looking for a powered speaker & have an iOS device, look no further! This has amazing sound in a small package and super easy to use!

The device itself is probably a 4 out of 5 stars for what it is. Average priced smart speaker with decent audio quality that's good for its size. The issue is the software. Siri is okay but the homepods are only compatible with a couple music services (Apple Music and Pandora), otherwise you have to airplay a song from spotify or another service from your iPhone. Not compatible with Android phones. Homekit is also flakey and doesn't work as well the more Homepods and Apple TVs you add. Hopefully they can continue to improve the software but it's a decent device for someone in the Apple Ecosystem.
