Sound is designed to lower on its own after a certain period of time of no use. I am an older person with hearing loss and the level it lowers to I cannot hear. There is no setting to change that. Also there is no reminder option that will alert you through the HomePod. It only sends a message to the iPhone. I was changing from Amazon Echo to HomePod, but the Echi device has a lot of better features. I returned this and bought 2 Echos.

Was kind of a pain to set up. When I wanted to use Siri on my phone and I was in the room with it it took over.

Amazing bass background with music & movies on Apple TV, Siri voice commands to forward and rewind or start movies from the beginning really quick and cool, but as a smart speaker ? I really do not recommend it, is just doesn't worth it as expensive still is, I got 3 for the last 3 years now since 2018, 2020 and one mini on 2021 and each firmware update there is a new bug with issues commanding with HomeKit, sometimes doesn't recognize the songs purchased within my music library, later it does, sometimes tells you, you have to make a scene when doesn't recognize ''light on'' voice command, it responds back that ''you have to create a scene for that'' or sometimes says, ''Did you request something on HomeKit?'' I thought so!!'' its a joke as a SmartHome speaker and has just been discontinued I heard, I really do not recommend it as a smart speaker with HomeKit, even though with Apple TV is the most perfect one with voice commands and excellent bass

This worked great. We were able to easily pair this one with our first HomePod so we wave stereo.

This works well with all my Apple devices. Very responsive and can hear my requests from anywhere in the house.

Received one as a Christmas present. Came with iOS 13.2.1 in the system. The HomePod wouldn’t control the lights or send texts or phone call that are listed in my phonebook. It did play music. Loved the sound. Called Apple support. After 3 hard system restarts to bring it back to factory settings it wouldn’t update to the latest iOS of 13.3. There suggestion was to take it back. So I did.

Great sound. But frustrating for a smart home. Like the Cousin Eddie of smart speakers.

We love the HomePod. We got an additional one for both levels of the house. Love the white color as our trim is white.

This is a great addition to my home. Connects great with my iPhone and acts as a serving helper.

I’m not sure why anyone spends money on either HomePod. I’ve had both the full size and mini and neither work well; the pairing process is easy but trying to actually use the HomePod is a chore. Selecting to play music through the app causes the music app to perform so slowly, and the HomePod takes forever to start playing. It’s surprising because of how well Apple’s ecosystem works. However, I won’t buy another HomePod.

Love the HomePod. Works great with the Apple TV to create a smart TVs speaker.
