    Great. Except Matter protocol required.

We had Alexa running our whole house. And then Bezos started overstepping in really weird ways, and we wanted him out. And now he is. Apple keeps our data private. We like it that way. The voice recognition is far better than Alexa. The only issue that we have is that this runs on the Matter protocol, which means that we had to replace all of our light bulbs in our house because HomePod does not work on regular SmartThings protocol, and there is no way to get it to work. Matter, or nothing. Which sucks. But it was worth it to keep Bezos from monitoring everything that is happening in our house.

Great sound for the size. Setup was simple. Siri and HomeKit integration works well. The small size gives it the ability to be placed just about anywhere. A little pricey for the size but to be expected with Apple.

definitely one of my impulsive buying that i didn’t regret. so easy to use, so easy to connect. and even though the size is small, the quality of the sound is terrific and was shocked how loud the music is.

I got this to serve as the hub for our smart devices and it works great but weve been plesently suprised by other aspects. The sound quality is good given the size of the speaker and the kids are loving to use the intercom feature since its setup in the game room. A solid addition if your already using other Apple products and have a few other smart devices around the house to pair.

Works well, and the sound is good. It wasn't as big as I expected, which is a good thing since I was able to place it at the corner of my desk. Only issue is it sometimes disconnects after a song ends, but this issue has only happened while using Apple Music.

we have an open floor plan where the kitchen, dining room, and living room are all open to each other. We the HomePod mini in our dining room. We primarily use it to listen to music while cooking dinner and eating at the dinning room table. The sound quality really surprised me especially if you're within 20' of it. Further than that, and you won't notice the bass response as well. I believe this to be because it uses passive drivers. We found that Siri has responded to us 100% of the time, even across the room 40' away, and we don't have to yell... Cool things are the multi-person detection, Siri plays from my wife's Music library when she engages Siri and will switch to my library when I request music. Also the hand-off feature is pretty slick. A little slower (iPhone 12 mini) than what i was expecting but still good enough to use. I also use it to get weather reports, quick lookup questions, hear what's on my calendar for the day, and

Small and easy to place with big sound. Siri understands my commands perfectly from across the room. Overall sound is good, but could use more bass. Missed out on the original larger iPods, would prefer those. A sub-woofer would be a good addition.

The quality and range obviously isn’t as awesome as the standard homepod, but pairing them up and strategically placing them around the house has definitely leveled up my streaming at home. Easy to pair up and use. Definitely recommend the mini for small spaces like a bedroom

Very easy to set up and pair with another HomePod Mini. Sound is quite good for such a little guy. I love just being able to ask Siri a question without using the phone. All in all a great purchase. Only problem is that I think this item is a little pricey, but it is after all, an Apple product! If you are looking for a cheaper solution, you can get the Amazon Echo Dots for about 40% of the cost. I frequently use both Siri and Alexa and find that perhaps Siri is a little smarter, but Alexa is very trainable. I like both and either of them make a good addition to my home system!

Pretty good sound for the size and stereo pairing is super simple. Also, there's a nifty little feature where you can be listening to something on your phone, then just tap your phone to the HomePod, and it starts playing from the HomePod. As always, Siri isn't nearly as good as others for answering random questions, BUT is wayyyy more reliable for simple requests. I can count on Siri to understand me 99% of the time when I tell her to "turn the lights on" or "what's the weather." Google/Alexa definitely have more to say, but are never as reliable. --at least not in these little devices. My advice: keep this one for music and home automation commands, and keep a Google/Amazon device nearby for random questions.

I picked up two of these to pair and use as my desktop speakers alongside my iMac. They didn't let me down! The sound is pretty good even though it doesn't have the ability to sense where it's placed in the room similar to the original HomePod. I appreciate that they are lighter on the bass, but I still would love to have the ability to adjust the EQ similar to other speakers on the market. Sometimes the initial connection to my iMac will only pickup one of the two HomePod Minis so I will connect back to my internal speakers and then it will pickup both on the second attempt. I would love to see the option to make the HomePod Minis the default source of audio for my iMac so that I wouldn't have to worry about connecting each time I sit at my desk. I would also love if these were wireless or supported Bluetooth 5.0 but I suppose I'll have to wait and hope for that down the road from Apple.

I bought two of these speaker. If you have two speakers they have a stereo sound. I do enjoy the sound. I play nature sounds at night to fall asleep. The size is perfect to set on a small table. I think the price point is good too for this Apple product.

Good sound quality for the size. If you want loud go with the regular HomePod. Siri works well and it will connect to and access your iCloud/iTunes/Apple Music without connecting through a phone or computer. Intercom ability with multiple speakers is also a nice function.

I bought the mini as an accessory to the full size HomePod. For this purpose it is a great device, especially since I have several other devices integrated through the Apple Home app. It has decent sound and voice recognition ability. With another home pod connected, it can be sync together to play audio or use as an intercom system in the home. However, I would not recommend it as a substitute for a quality sound bar or Bluetooth speaker especially since it must be plugged into an outlet to maintain power. Also, the full size HomePod is far superior in sound quality albeit at a higher price point. With that said, for the price this is a good purchase if you want added Apple integration on a budget.

Better for stereo music than the original HomePod

We started off with one HomePod for listening to music while I work, and although they seem very bass-heavy to me the overall effect was pleasing, so we bought another one to try as a stereo pair. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a lot of smearing between the two, so we moved them to the living room to replace our TV speakers where they work much better. However, that left the office with no speakers, hence the HomePod mini purchase. Not nearly as much bass, which is fine, and the more coherent sound allows them to work better as a stereo pair. I think I like a pair of the HomePod minis better for music than a single HomePod, although for "home theater" the original HomePod is preferable.

Great sound quality for such a small speaker across the entire range from highs to lows and also has advanced Siri capabilities. And at the price, is a much more reasonable buy than the full size HomePod
