Great sound. The reason I give it a 3 star is that to have this speaker play you have to connect via home kit. It takes over when you say Hay Siri. It was like trying to find needle in a haystack trying find the setting to turn off Siri on the HomePod.

While I mourn the end of the full-sized HomePod, the Mini is a useful device in its own right. Is the sound as great as the "big" HomePod. Nope, but it's surprisingly good for such a tiny orb. It's quite responsive to Siri commands, and the NFC and Thread support are icing on the cake if you happen to be a smart home addict. Recently, I found another good use for one of these. We have a pair of the big HomePods acting as sound for our TV, but when it's late at night, I have to jam my hearing aids in to listen at lower volumes. We picked up one of these Minis, and I put it next to me on the couch. We assigned it to an unused room, and now we can add it to the mix at night, with me adjusting the volume on it so I can hear without us cranking up the main pair. In the end, these things are typical Apple: you initially think, "Well, yes, but how useful will it really be?" Then over time, you find out just how well-thought-out it is.

Situation I found myself in last year: Alexa had just gotten dumb. I mean DUMB. Moreover, no amount of opt out settings could stop the unsolicited suggestions that I really did not want to hear about. Alexa integration with Apple Music was also poor. So for the simple purpose of controlling g music, smart home devices and setting kitchen timers, it just made sense to get HomePods. Siri is still very far from being a great digital assistant but for simple voice control, she gets the job done painlessly if you’re home tech is Apple centric.

I had been putting off converting from Alexa but I wish I would've done it a long time ago. This is great! It's very clear. Doesn't take up much space. Great speaker for listening to music. If you have AppleTV it is a great "remote control" too!

If you have Apple devices, then this is for you! It’s incredible of the sounds on this device. I got it on sale on Black Friday for $199. I may be hard of hearing but there is sometimes where Siri doesn’t understand my darn Deaf accent lol. But overall, the bass is really good, like really nice. And the sound is pretty loud. Plus, PLUS, if you play it over YouTube, it will play RIGHT IN SYNC, unlike the other Bluetooth speakers I have, it has some delays. But this one is just perfect! Airplay to this thing is really amazing, it connects instantly with no problems. If this is for you, pick it up! :)

Easy to set up. Sounds great. If you’re and “Apple” person and want sound throughout your home this is a great way to do it. I do wish these weren't so limited on commands. Alexa and Google seem to play better with other devices. But still love it. We have 3 and the larger HomePod and love them all.

Amazing sound for its size! I got 2 paired / stereo and it’s way better. Yes, not good bass, and ITS NOT the regular HomePod , but it’s great, faster, simple, EZ and very convenient. Get 2 for pair and you won’t regret it for you small office or room or kitchen. Want a party ? Not these.

I've had the HomePod mini for nearly a year and I absolutely love it! I initially bought it to use as an alarm clock/white noise speaker for sleep but now it runs my life and I've become subservient to it. All you have to do is say Siri or Hey Siri to get its attention. Then you can set alarms, reminders, send texts, make phone calls, and much more. The speakers actually exceeded my expectation as far as sound quality. I've used it to listen to music and watch tv, and while not the best It's better than you'd think. 9/10 (I deducted some points because a few times it has activated without being prompted and scared the actual pee out of me)

I am thoroughly surprised by the sound quality of this little speaker. Crisp and clear. The set up was ridiculously easy and took less than five minutes. I bought this to play music for my baby but I find myself using it more frequently to play podcasts as well.

We have one in every bathroom now. They are so easy to use and sound great!

Excellent sound quality and intuitive setup. It will recognize multiple users which is a great feature.

Got the HomePod mini on sale at a great price. I set it up in my small office and it sounds fantastic for a small speaker. It isn't portable so it stays on my desk and it won't go anywhere...my portables are always borrowed and nowhere to be found, but this one plugs in.

It’s a cool little speaker is producing soothing music to high volume music. I wish this a would’ve been wireless and rechargeable.

Great sound for the size, very convenient to have in the bathroom for music in the shower. Would have felt better if the price was lower.

Sounds amazing and very interactive with Apple TV and smart appliances

I had a Google Home Mini I got for free years ago, but never really used it. The sound wasn't super great, the bass was poor, and some songs sounded very compressed. Additionally, the voice assistant never really understood my requests (e.g. "Play playlist X" or "play song X by X"), and I would get ads for artists that I specifically ask Google to play, even if I didn't listen to them on the speaker that much, it just didn't feel great to be tracked like that. So far, I love my HomePod mini. The sound is great, capable of being loud with great, punchy bass. Siri, while still flawed, so far has understood my requests better than my Home Mini. Additionally, I've been able to play my iTunes library without the need to connect my phone via Bluetooth. I have yet to really use it as a smart home device (I lack anything to use with it), so can't comment on that. But as a speaker, I love it.

Overall great after a slight stubble setting it up. I had to go back and reset it to get through the setup for some reason. Likely my fault. The ease of use and integration with my other Apple products is everything I hoped for in buying it. The response to commands is accurate. The sound is terrific.

It is pretty good for the size of it, the full size has much better sound though. I do like it overall though, the intercom function is pretty neat and I like that if you play a song it plays in all rooms. Overall I give it 4 stars as its great but I expected a little more power from it and for the price I expected it to be more around the 50 dollar range. I guess I can't be too picky though....
