Great Product! I used the HomePod Mini as my home "hub" for apple home kit. Pod works as advertised and was really simple to set up. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for a simple home kit setup.

Bought this for my college aged daughter for Xmas. She likes the small size and the sound. Easy to set up.

The Minis don't have the big size that the OG HomePods do, but the sound quality is fantastic, they work seamlessly throughout my home, and for the price, they can't be beat. I will usually try to hold out for a sale here at Best Buy on them, and buy a couple. And because I am a Total Tech member, I get AppleCare+ included. It really can't be beat, and I prefer it to wading out into the shark-infested waters of the gray market for the OG home pods.

I was rather disappointed in the features of the HomePod. Unlike my Google nest mini, I cannot start Spotify music from it, or Apple Music (possibly because I don’t have premium Apple Music); rather, I have to airplay from my phone/other Apple device and it cannot serve as a Bluetooth speaker for a non Apple device. It can’t turn off a light from my smart plug in 15 min (can only turn on/off immediately) and it only has very basic Siri functions where even my iPhone can do more. The only real upsides to it is that it can turn off my bedroom lamp and that it has decent sound quality. Glad I bought it as open box because I would have been even more disappointed if it was full price.

First I want to say that I am happy with my purchase. The HomePod is a good sounding and reasonably competent smart speaker. I purchased this on Black Friday and at that price I think this was a fair deal. The things that stop this from being a 5 star review are as follows: The reviews I read stated this as the best sounding smart speaker and this may be true, but in my opinion it is not the best sounding portable speaker. I have a Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker that is of smaller form factor that I feel is a better sounding speaker. As a smart speaker, Siri is ok but I have a Google Home Mini that is more competent at internet type questions. I don’t have any smart home devices that Siri or Google can control so I can’t speak to that, but the grand kids have a lot of fun asking Google stupid internet questions that Siri doesn’t handle as well. I have asked questions that Siri did not answer that Google did. It would be nice if the HomePod supported music platforms other than Apple Music like Spotify or Pandora. Now this was not a real issue for me as I had Apple Music for free with my phone service but for other users this may be an issue. Pluses for the HomePod. I would like to mention that the HomePod can answer a phone and do so for multiple users. The Google Home Mini can place an internet call with a predetermined phone number For caller ID but it cannot answer a call to your phone (it can answer duo phone calls). The HomePod can place calls from your phone and answer phone calls to your phone. It does this for multiple users as it determines which phone to use by your voice. I wanted this feature so my wife can answer her phone while being busy in the kitchen which is where our HomePod is setup. Another plus for the HomePod is that setup is so easy. Granted you have to be an iPhone or iPad user but most of the setup is copied from your iPhone or iPad. Things such as WiFi setup and Siri recognizing your voice is all taken from your device.

Great sounding speaker. Stereo pairing sounds amazing and they are very easy to use. Works nicely with Apple TV for movies too

The sound is awesome and it is a good price. I give it 3 stars because I bought it to use at work and my work Wi-Fi is protected of course and it won’t allow peer to peer connection, so I can’t use my HomePod mini there. I have Bluetooth speakers that work just fine in that environment but don’t sound nearly as good. So if you want to use these speakers in a protected work environment don’t buy them, the hassle of trying to get your IT department to authorize the MAC address just for you to listen to tunes is not very high on their todo list.

From sound to practicality, that’s Apple engineering. One note to take into consideration. That’s not its primary role to be a portable sound speaker. It’s a home hub that integrates Apple supported accessories while playing powerful clear music

I love it so much I went back and purchased more. It is surprisingly loud considering its size and the audio quality is great.

We are using two homepods in stereo with an Apple TV and it sounds great. It isn’t as capable as a higher level soundbar - meaning it’s doesn’t create the wide sound field for movies, but it is decent nonetheless. Where it really excels is with music. These things can get loud and they sound great, however the bass might be too heavy for some people. I like the bass, so no complaints here.

We’re filling our house with sound. They sync and play together beautifully. The sound is amazing especially considering their size. Sets up in about 10 minutes from your iPhone. The whole home intercom feature is cool as well.
