The sound quality of both of these as stereo speakers are amazing. Siri can detect my voice even when sound is loud. I don’t use Siri function much but the speakers are excellent along with ecosystem.

The Apple HomePod’s two strongest features are the ease of setting it up (just hold your iPhone near it and tell it that you do want to set up the HomePod) and the quality of the sound. I have an expensive surround system in the same room and actually prefer how music sounds on the HomePod. This is probably the cleanest sounding speaker that I have ever heard. I have only set up one Home device (a Wemo outlet switch that controls a light), but that almost set itself up, it was so easy. Works great! Siri is also helpful in finding nearby stores, etc., playing news summaries, and providing other information.

OMG I love these! I have the normal home pod and now have 3 of the minis around the house. I have the same music currently playing on all 3 levels of my home. They are quick and easy to set up. Takes less than 3 minutes.

Works very well. Trying to update the whole house to Apple (previously had Alexa devices) only complaint is that even if your in the other room and whispering, the HomePod will pick you up instead of your watch or phone a lot of times. Set up was very simple as well, much like most apple products.

Love my new home pod. I use it instead of my TV speakers and it works great. Plus, none of those annoying Alexa notifications all the time.

I absolutely love this little speaker. This speaker sounds amazing. Has the perfect amount of bass. It easily pairs with other Apple products including the Apple TV, which is my favorite part. Watching movies with the HomePod paired is just like being in the movie theatre. Siri is super responsive and you don’t have to yell over music playing to get its attention like you do with other products. I will be purchasing more to put in other rooms.

Very happy with the HomePod mini, so much so that after buying my first, I bought 2 more. This one ended up in our bedroom. They sound great and the fact that they have AirPlay is a great. I highly recommend the HomePod mini.

This HomePod mini is everything I expected it to be. It works perfect with my iPhone 12. I only use it to play my music and the sounds when I sleep I don’t even have the volume all the way up. Definitely buying a second one.

I’ve had Alexa devices for years but usually purchase Apple Products. I had always hesitated to spend the full price for the Home Pods. However with the huge 4th of July sale, I purchased one. I loved it so much that I purchased THREE MORE! They are amazing and the sound quality is superior to the Alexa devices. It still does many tasks like they did but I like the voice better. I selected Australian Man voice. They look sharp, are much more sturdy and EASY AS PIE to set up. They each took less than 5 minutes to set up! Highly recommended!!!

I've had an Amazon Alexa for years now in the kitchen, and it's done a good job of playing music and it's nice to get alerts about Amazon deliveries. That said, the sound quality and capabilities of the HomePod are already wayyyyy better than what Alexa can do. It sounds like a mini home theater despite its size, and I can easily play songs just by putting my iPhone near the HomePod. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is an Apple household. We have iPhones, iPads and Apple TV, so this is a great addition to add to the house.

I bought this for my spouse to use in her salon for music. Previously she was using a Google Home speaker, so she was due for a sonic upgrade. And the HomePod definitely produces better sound than a Google Home, no question. But unfortunately, the speaker just didn't work well for her. Her biggest problem was caused by plugging her Square mag-strip card reader into her iPhone while music was playing. No matter what she tried, plugging the Square reader into her iPhone made music on the HomePod pause (I assume the either the phone or speaker saw the Square reader as headphones or an audio device being plugged in). I tried to fix it, but couldn't ever figure it out. It drove her nuts though, especially since the old Google Home never had this problem. She is the type to just want things to work and be simple, and saying "Hey Google, play my salon mix" is about as easy as it gets. After a month with it, the pausing issue was on her last nerve. She decided to return it and she put that money towards a Dyson hairdryer, and resumed using the Google Home for her music needs. My second, and more general, gripe is the price. I purchased the HomePod in December 2019. At that time, there was a holiday price of $199. I think, sound-wise, that $199 is the right price for this speaker. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great, but it still sounds like a bluetooth speaker, which means a limited soundstage and some lack of clarity (particularly the highs and mids). It's just inherent in the design of a small object stuffed with speakers, you get a small footprint in exchange for a lack of clarity or separation. In my opinion, $299 would be much better spent on a pair of Sonos Ones in a stereo configuration, placed apart from one another. You'll get better stereo separation and a wider sound stage with a pair of Sonos versus the HomePod. You can also keep adding Sonos speakers as you see fit, to service multiple rooms or even create a surround system. Lastly, it is also worth mentioning that the HomePod is already a 2 year old product. Sure, it sounds great for a bluetooth speaker, and it does sound better than my $139 JBL Charge 4, but it doesn't sound TWICE as good. If you pay more than $199 for this is in 2020, you're paying too much. In conclusion, if you must own a HomePod, wait for it to be on sale. $199 is a fair price for a 2 year old bluetooth speaker, but $299 just isn't a fair price anymore when you can get two Sonos One speakers for a dollar more. Also, if you're getting this for a similar use-case as my spouse, don't be surprised if using your iPhone for other activities while streaming music to the HomePod causes problems for you.
