I first bought the HomePod mini, because I didn't want to spend 300$ on this kind of music device. While the mini is ok, but a bit disappointing due to its small size (and the corresponding sound quality), the "big" HomePod does everything right: ease of use, great sound quality, nice design. And the best thing: together with the "big" HomePod, the mini now also makes sense!

You won’t believe until you hear these. I have on or two in each room, can’t believe the quality of sound from such a tiny piece.

Honestly, this is the most disappointing Apple product I’ve ever purchased. First, this is a *WiFi* speaker; not Bluetooth. That means that if you’re WiFi isn’t PERFECT, or you don’t have WiFi, it won’t connect. Second, the Home app is both confusing and does not operate in the way that Apple’s own website says it does. Third, if you get two for a stereo pair, you can expect them to very rarely work in concert with one another. One speaker would automatically connect to the 2.4GHz and the other to the 5GHz Wifi for no reason (I use a mesh Wifi system). After disabling the 2.4GHz signal altogether, one speaker absolutely refused to connect to anything. Within days of purchasing two of them, I could no longer pair them, connect to them, or control them in any way. Through every reset possible and even contact with Apple support, I was informed that one of the speakers was likely defective and needed to be replaced. Not years, not months, not even a week after purchasing and one was simply “defective”. Save your money and get a simple, wireless Bluetooth speaker. The only reason I won’t give these one star is because they did sound great for the first day I had them. After that, I had nothing but problems. Apple really dropped the ball on these by unnecessarily over-complicating every aspect of the user experience. Oh, and if you don’t have a “peer-to-peer” WiFi system (whatever the heck that means), expect certain functions to simply not work. I knew that they aren’t wireless (have to be plugged into an outlet at all times), but they aren’t Bluetooth either. Overall, I do NOT recommend purchasing the HomePod Mini until Apple adds Bluetooth, fixes the Home app, and gets rid of all the unnecessary bloat to the user experience. This is a speaker, yet feels like a failed concept that accidentally went into mass production

I have two of these things and they’re the worst product Apple makes. They work great for a couple weeks then become the most finicky piece of tech I have in my house. They will just stop working for no reason. They’ll drop connection randomly. I’ve rebooted my router multiple times, updated them, and they still have all these problems. I regret buying two of them. Feels like I’m using a cheap Android product from Five Below.

all around sound quality is good, like the fact that i can just say “hey, siri”

I am loving the I-Pod mini, it has great sound for a little speaker.

The sound is amazing. I compared it to all of my different Echo speakers and none of them are anywhere close in sound quality. I have had no issues with Siri at all and she works great with my smart home setup as everything in our house is both homekit and alexa enabled. I think the retail price is a little too much for it, but getting it on sale for Black Friday I felt the value was definitely there.

Love these. Have 5 of them with no complaints. Can not wait for the O G HomePod to come back.

Great little speaker with surprising sound for it's size. Works excellent with my home automations in Homekit.

Speaker is great but sound quality doesn’t have that much depth. Siri on the other hand is creepy good so much so she can hear a low voice requests. I believe it’s is way overpriced even for apple.

If you are invested in the Apple ecosystem of computers, mobile devices, home kit smart accessories, and home entertainment devices like Apple TV, then you can not go wrong with this smart speaker as you will know the capabilities as well as limitations of Siri. The sound quality and volume that comes out of this small speaker is seriously impressive. However if you intend on using anything other than an iOS device, look elsewhere and don't waste your time because this is not made for Android devices and you can not connect anything via USB or AUX port because there are none.

I knew it wasn’t the best speaker to buy with an assistant on it, but I have many Apple products and thought I’d give it a shot. It was a little weird setting it up especially cause it didn’t connect through Bluetooth like I thought it would. It used your WiFi to connect to it. You had to control the settings through the home app which I didn’t like and it was laggy when trying to play music from Apple Music to it. It had a tap feature that you could use with your iPhone to transfer what you were listening to on your phone to the HomePod, but it took awhile and it actually started playing music from my iPhone when I didn’t want it to when I got close to the HomePod. I’m giving it 2 stars because it did sound alright, but everything else about it was disappointing.

Easy setup and really good sound quality. Smart features aren't as advanced as Amazon Alexa but Siri does everything we need.

Need WiFi therefore not mobile but good sound in my room and great for setting alarms

Got these yesterday. One in each color. They are small, but they produce great sound. If you are invested in the Apple Ecosystem then these are great.

I really like the ease of use. At first, you have to be patient with the setup, but if you follow the directions closely, you will be just fine.

Sound quality for a small speaker is amazing and connectivity was easy. Just expected to do a little more with the mini home pod I read some future updates. Works great with My smart bulbs from Phillips hue.

This little thing has a great big sound. It’s nice that it comes with its own power block too.
