Speaker with Bells, but does not Ring

Had to return this product. I rarely return items I purchase because I tend to do exhaustive research to a fault, but I didn't with this product because I thought Apple made it quality. However, I was wrong. The speaker continuously dropped connection, the audio would skip, and I would spend more time trying to reconnect my device rather than enjoying my music or podcast. I would recommend a speaker with fewer bells and whistles (no siri or Google), but better connectivity like the Bose - SoundLink Color Portable Bluetooth Speaker II.

I have had 2 people come into our home, and while we had music playing, they both said, "that sounds good!" Definitely a 5-star speaker, but I am giving the Home Pod 4 stars because it was a little tough to sync with other iPhones at home.

If you’re looking for a great sounding speaker and are into the Apple ecosystem this is great. I have all my home automation hooked up with Homekit and it works great.

Very good sound with an OK Siri interface. We have a "great room" that needed the "extra" from the HomePod as our HomePod mini just could not give enough to enjoy music

Only good as a speaker. No display to view any info such as weather or news. Google home hub is far superior since it has a display.

    I’m having issues with mine

I’ve had this three days and I had such difficulty playing my music using my phone. I had to keep say “Hey Siri play” and then the song I chose. Even now sometimes I can’t play my Apple Music using my phone to navigate what songs I want, it’s connected to the HomePod but music plays through my phone speaker only. Then it out of nowhere started to blink white and played this jingle sound like a reminder. I had none on my iPhone or iPad. It did that twice and I still don’t know why. I don’t like that I have to plug it in, I prefer Bluetooth. Honestly for me, it’s more of a hassle and I really wanted to love this product. I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who isn’t savvy with devices. I might return in the next week if I continue to not be able to use my phone to directly play my music which is biggest reason why I bought this.

Love these units, sorry Apple stopped production. Once Apple updated their software, these work great in stereo mode. They sound great, and I use them almost every day.

I got this on a little sale, but wish I would have bought it earlier. I use it everyday to blast music for breakfast, parties, working out at home or so many other things. It works so great and looks so good.

Sound quality excellent playing back music as a speaker phone or reading back the news. Not as advanced with skills as Alexa or Google but will get there. I put little furniture felt pads on bottom to avoid the reported ring issues

This is my second HomePod, meaning a have one in my bedroom and one in my living room, and it is the best music-listening experience with the easiest set up. Love letting friend connect with ease on their iPhones and of course the smart-home features!

HomePod has an awesome sound, on mid volume, for its size. I have a Pair as my bookshelf speakers connected over AirPlay to my AppleTV 4. Awesome to watch TV and listen to music. Siri needs to become smarter.

Perfect compliment to my living room. Sound is amazing and I ability to connect it my other Apple products is a major plus. Getting weather reports or selecting music in a split second is even better.

Leave it to Apple to combine the best of their tech and Beats technology. I especially like how seamless it is with all my Apple tech I already own. The speaker is powerful but compact. The 7 mics find it easy to hear me speaking to Siri, even when volume is turned up. And it's great to connect 2 speakers for a more immersive surround sound experience. The only downside I can find is that the speaker is hard-wired to a power source, so it's not portable - in that it doesn't have it's own battery supply. That's not an issue for me, but it could be for others.

The sound quality is a 10 out of 10. And it fits nicely into my Apple eco system. Automations in HomeKit have made things so much easier.

The Apple HomePod is GREAT -- the sound is amazing and works well with our other Apple devices. We purchased this as the base component for building our Apple-centric smart home. Highly recommend this product!

We bought two of these so that we could use them upstairs and downstairs in our house. We were able to stream music off of Spotify and play it to both speakers simultaneously over airplay. Sounds awesome!

Own iPhone, MacBook, iPad, iPod, Watch, Mac Mini, etc Positive - perfect size and shape for desktop speakers - not much else Negative - ordered 2 speakers from Best Buy. Mildew smell as if stored in damp basement for 5 years, returned - ordered 1 speaker direct from Apple. Mildew smell as if stored in damp basement for 10 years. Missed return window. - size matters (for sound quality in speakers) - my used Bose Companion Series 1 Version 1 Goodwill stereo speakers sound better. New version retail is $100 - biggest complaint is lack of stereo option when using MacBook. i spent months looking for non odorous speakers only to find out no stereo option.
