This is probably the worst thing I have bought to date. I love it when it works 5% of the time but 95% of the time is does not work. It constantly has problems connecting to wifi forcing me to reset it every single time. They added a reset homepod instead of remove and if that stuck i would’ve loved it but after using it once i can’t seem to access that feature again, forcing me to remove it and re add it every time. This is been the least enjoyable experience i’ve ever had with apple products and when i’m trying to tell it to do anything wifi related it always says trouble connecting to internet go to home app bla bla bla but when i go to home app it just says homepod not responding. No reset no wifi settings nothing just saying it’s not responding. If i wait a couple days it’ll reconnect to the wifi but that’s ridiculous l. DO NOT BUY

As of 11/20/23, all my HomePod speakers all sound OK. The 1 star is due to Siri not being smart at all. I have a HomePod in my front room, home pod mini in a bathroom, and another HomePod mini in a bedroom, While music is playing I'll ask Siri to turn it up. Siri will respond by saying "OK, I'll speak louder" and NOT adjust the music volume. Also, I'll ask Siri a question on one speaker, and Siri will answer on another speaker in a different room. Or I'll ask Siri to play some music and a random speaker in another room will start playing. Also, apple makes it even more troublesome if you choose to use another service besides Apple Music. To conclude, Siri needs updates to be functional and is currently more of an annoyance. I'll update this review one things get better.

The sound of the speaker is excellent...Siri is not very smart like Alexa but the sound is everything in this speaker.

I bought two, for a stereo set, when on sale. Figured they'd work well with my Apple devices. The wonderful: music is beautiful, TV and films are generally fantastic. I use it primarily with my iPad Pro 12", iPhone 6s Plus both on iOS 13. Occasionally on my Mac, in the Music app. I believe the latest iOS update improved the speakers' reliability. Classical, rock, folk, jazz - all excellent. With the improved reliability lately, I won't return them. I was otherwise considering it, The eh: one speaker often picks up sound before the other. The lag isn't huge, just annoying. Occasionally the connection doesn't happen. I have to try a few times, both in Apple Music and using Airplay. The speakers cut out on occassion, then resume sound. Depending on the app, Airplay can be a nightmare. In Music, Prime Video, Netflix - rarely problems. Airplay in the Criterion Channel app sometimes works, sometimes becomes a nightmare and unuseable. MacOS: like everyone else....why limited to iTunes? When my older MacBook eventually fails, hopefully not for a while, and if I can purchase the 16", I'd like to watch films on the newer, larger screen and use the Homepods. Siri: gets confused. The speakers are in my bedroom. I did not purchase them for Siri but for their music quality. When my iPhone, iPad, and HomePod are in the room together, I can say, "Siri, turn off the lights," and at least two-three devices respond. The device occasionally become confused and turn the lights off, then maybe turn a lamp back on again.

I am disappointed that I have to buy Amazon music to enjoy music that I don’t have in my library, I didn’t realize this when I bought my Home Pod Mini.

Compared to others in the same size category, the HomePod is a clear winner. It truly sounds great

What’s better than my Samsung surroundsound tonight is just the HomePod as my main source of music
