Was very impressed by what you can do with this. It's very small, the bass is amazing, and makes a great gift for anyone in the Apple Ecosystem. One thing that impressed me the most was that for Apple TV, you can use this as the replacement speak for your television. If you have 2 of these, you can stereo it for the room (even sounds good with just one). Deep bass and multiple uses like intercom, doing Siri searches, weather, music, and setting timers in the kitchen. There are other smart home things you can do with this, but haven't delved that far yet! Quite pricy but definitely has much potential. The Home app for Apple needs some improvements though...only one owner and you need to add people to it to be able to have multiple users on one Homepod.

Full Disclosure - I did end up returning this HomePod. I just don't think the concept is for me. That said, I was really impressed by this little speaker. The amount and quality of the sound that came out of this little orb was nothing short of incredible! The main reason why I bought this speaker is because it can be an Apple Home Hub with Matter support, which is very important for smart homes. However, the Apple TV can also provide the same experience, and I don't really use speakers, so the Apple TV made more sense for me. Still, this speaker was really impressive in it's quality, was simple to use, and I LOVED the blue color that I purchased. If I listened to more media out loud, rather than with my AirPods, this would have been a no-brainer.

I got it for under 50 dollars from the exellent refurbished option, and it came out flawless, the only complaint that i have is it does get slightly annoying when your phone is tryng to constantly connect, and it does sound really balanced, but i like bass to be punchy, which is slightly lacking ( EQ might help).

I really like this speaker. The sound is as good as anything else at this price point and is as strong as any for a smart speaker. Set up is easy using an iPhone (more on that in a second), and it does what you need it to do. It also has a small profile. I would recommend getting two of these as opposed to one of the main HomePod, as these can go anywhere and provide great sound. The one downside I've experienced so far is that Siri takes longer to fulfill requests and commands on my home network. Other smart speakers are snappy and quick but the HomePod will often tell me to "hang on." Again as other smart speakers on my network respond better it's probably with the unit but hopefully this will be addressed on a future software upgrade. The other thing is that buying this speaker will cement users further in the Apple ecosystem. I would not recommend anyone use this with an Android or non-iOS device. That said if you are an iOS fan, by all means. As time goes on I am sure I will discover other uses for this but for now it's a very good and promising unit.

The Apple HomePod mini has completely exceeded my expectations! Connecting it to my Samsung TV and Soundbar through Apple TV was an incredibly simple and intuitive process—Apple’s ecosystem just works flawlessly. The sound quality is phenomenal—rich, clear, and immersive. But the unexpected bonus? I can listen to TV shows and movies directly through the HomePod mini, keeping the audio focused near me without blasting the TV late at night. It’s a game-changer for late-night watching! If you’re looking for a compact, high-quality speaker that integrates effortlessly with Apple TV, I highly recommend the HomePod mini!

This is the first one of these we have bought. The set up was easy and works great with iPhone. Automatically sync your settings from iPhone and works great with Siri. It allows multiple user to sync with it and recognizes when that user is near. I plan on purchasing more of these to set up in other areas of the house, so that when we move around it will follow us. It even works as an intercom to talk to other users in other parts of the house. I did purchase this one from Best Buy and then found out that they no longer give reward points for Apple products, so I will purchase all my Apple devises directly from Apple. If you have a Apple credit card and put your purchase on it you get 6% back unless you do a 0% payment plan, then you only get 3% back. Still a pretty good deal.

This was a birthday gift I got and I absolutely love it!! I love telling Siri to play a playlist podcast or song asking her to play something for me and being able to control the lights and tv in my room also love that I can set an alarm and have it play my playlist so I wake up listening to my favorite music! You can also set the alarm to play podcasts too! I love that it acts as a hub so I can control my HomeKit devices away from home if I accidentally leave the tv on or lights on or even the HomePod on playing music! It’s got amazing sound quality and the volume is great I can hear it from afar if I have it up loud and I love that I can tell Siri to lower or raise the volume! The bass and everything is just amazing!!!

A Compact Smart Speaker for Apple Enthusiasts

The Apple HomePod Mini is a sleek, compact smart speaker that delivers impressive performance for its size. Its design is minimalistic and fits seamlessly into most home setups. The sound quality is commendable, with balanced audio and surprisingly deep bass for such a small device. However, it doesn't compare to larger, more premium speakers. Siri integration is smooth but limited compared to competitors like Alexa or Google Assistant, especially in terms of third-party app compatibility. It shines in Apple-centric ecosystems, seamlessly integrating with other Apple devices and offering features like Handoff. While the price is competitive, it might not be the best choice for non-Apple users due to its limited cross-platform functionality. Overall, the HomePod Mini is a great option for Apple loyalists seeking a compact and stylish smart speaker with decent sound quality.

The HomePod Mini sounds excellent, but because of its size is has less bass than the original HomePod. The Mini is perfect for small rooms, and the ability to pair two of them together to make a stereo pair for Apple TV is fantastic. If you have multiple HomePods and HomePod Minis in your house, you can AirPlay music to all of them. If you have a HomePod in all your rooms, the intercom feature is excellent to send voice messages to your whole household or specific HomePods. If you're into Apple’s HomeKit ecosystem, the HomePod Mini is in a great smart hub to manage your HomeKit compatible devices. It is future-proof since Apple added the new Thread network protocol, which is yet to roll out in new smart home devices.

Great sound for such a small speaker. Perfect for small rooms like restroom or small bedrooms. The sound is pushed to the bottom and bounces off the surface to create full sound. Sometimes it does feel a bit too bass-y, / heavier on the lows and wish it had slightly clearer sound. It never distorts but it’s more comfortable to listen within the 50 to 75% volume range. Maybe that’s because I live in an apartment and I’m too scared to get too loud. The cloth covering on the white one seems to show slight imperfections around the top and where the cloth is stitched right where the cable is. Wouldn’t say it’s a dealbreaker, but feel like it’s probably less noticeable on the black one.

I already had a HomePod for my main living area. I bought this one to use in my bedroom. I enjoy how I can choose different music for each HomePod directly from your iphone. I verbally speak to Siri to play my playlist. This small speaker surprisingly has a lot of bass. I can ask Siri the temperature and or to set my alarm. I didn't buy the Amazon echo to prevent myself from over spending on ordering items. I don't like the cord. It does pair easily via bluetooth to my phone, laptop, ipad, and etc. I use my HomePod daily to listen to podcasts as well. I like this mini speaker, because I didn't want to buy two large HomePod. Visually it is aesthetic and cost efficient.

I was really impressed with these the first time I turned the music on in my house. I got one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom. They’re perfect for these spots because they take up so little space. In a small space like an average sized bathroom in hey really shine because of the room gain you get with the bass. But the sound really blew me away when I went upstairs and was directly above our downstairs bathroom and could actually hear and feel the tiny speaker through the floor. The intercom function is useful and Siri really does seem to be more well tuned on this than even my iPhone. If you’re in the Apple ecosystem these things are a no brainer at the price.

I've tried all of the smart speakers, and really think Apple has the best. I've bought full Alexa and Google Home setups, and ended up returning them. They will advertise they do all of these things, but you may be able to get it to work once, then you're just out of luck. Nothing but constant problems. Automations never worked. Anything even mildly complex beyond "Alexa, turn this on", they just struggle with. Third-party skills are usually incredibly poorly developed and barely function. I thought Google Home was a lot better than Alexa, but both of them had non-stop problems. Amazon devices seem to be incredibly cheaply made, mainly software. I've been over at family members houses and randomly their echo speaker will start playing someone else's recordings. Just all around really terrible frustrating experiences. I've been getting into the Apple ecosystem lately, and decided to give HomePods a try. Most Apple smart home devices are quite a bit more expensive than their Amazon/Google counterpart (although Google's prices have been coming up, hopefully means better quality), but with Apple you really get what you pay for. Never really had any problems with HomePods. I really like streaming audio all throughout my home, it has worked nearly flawlessly. I bought some more expensive Phillips Hue lights. Before, with smart lights, they would randomly disconnect and you'd have to re-set them up, it was ridiculous, with Apple HomeKit and these Hue lights they never have any issues. Audio quality on HomePod minis is also a whole lot better than echo or google home speakers. The downside to Apple smart home devices is they don't have as much functionality. I think mainly in terms of third-party support. For example, I have a Shark smart vacuum that with the Amazon and Google speakers, in theory, you should be able to tell it to clean a room. In practice it almost never worked. Even with an Xbox you're supposed to be able to tell it to turn on your xbox or load a specific game, or to show your security cameras. This really never worked right for me either. So, with Apple it doesn't have as much functionality from third-parties, but from my experience what it's missing really didn't work for the most part on their competitors platforms, so it's really not missing out on much. But like with other Apple products, they don't sell you something that doesn't work. It's very high quality, music sounds amazing, the microphone does a great job of picking up on your voice. I do wish they'd add a few things though, like being able to tell Siri to play an audiobook rather than having to airplay it, it would be cool if you could get notifications from your phone on these, and I think integration with Apple TV could be better, although I think the recent updates were supposed to add on that.

I recently purchased an Apple HomePod mini from Best Buy, and the experience has been excellent in every way. The HomePod mini itself is a fantastic product. Its compact design is sleek and modern, fitting perfectly into any space. The sound quality is remarkable for its size, offering rich, immersive audio that fills the room. The integration with Siri and Apple’s ecosystem is seamless, making it incredibly convenient to control smart home devices, set reminders, and play music with simple voice commands. The buying experience at Best Buy was also top-notch. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful, guiding me through the features and ensuring I made an informed decision. The checkout process was smooth, and the product arrived promptly and in perfect condition. Overall, I am thrilled with both the Apple HomePod mini and the service from Best Buy. Highly recommended!

Everyone knows the weaknesses of Siri. I believe they are related to Apple's (up until now) refusal to let 3rd party apps on (unlike Amazon or Google). So no discussion of that. Pros: Sounds MUCH better than Echo dot. Fills my home office almost completely. Much better bass than expected. Really small. Easy to hide/remove from sight. Obviously good integration into Apple ecosystem Cons: Expensive when compared to other entry level items Siri (I don't consider this a Con but many do) What's with this crazy power arrangement that really makes an item that should be portable not portable? The unit can be separated from the USB charger but doesn't have batteries?!? Really odd. Make it battery or make it plug in. It doesn't do either all that well.

There’s no question that the HomePod Mini is a tall order against a similar priced Amazon Alexa but there is less to choose between them than you think. If you’re fully bought in to Apple Music and Apple Home then it’s a no brainer. The good news is that it sound amazing for something so small. Setup is dead easy and streaming music either by doing the “Hey Siri” command or by using iOS or IPadOS AirPlay is similarly simple. It also looks way better than an Alexa or Alex Dot. If you’re wholly Android and don’t use Apple Music then you’re better off with a different device,

I have two HomePods I’ve been using for about a year now, and I absolutely love them! This is why when I was ready to add to my sound system, I was intrigued by the HomePod Mini. It’s compact, and when I say compact, it’s REALLY TINY, and it comes at a miniature price too! However, the sound this little thing produces is what really sells the product! I was shocked that it could compete with my HonePod!! If you are on a budget but want to have the Apple smart speakers as part of your home tech., I suggest the HomePod Mini! You won’t regret this purchase!
