Fantastic
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HomePod received a lot of critical feedback at its initial launch, and in some cases rightfully so, but this is a FANTASTIC smart speaker for those in the Apple Ecosystem. I originally bought, and returned, a HomePod a year and a half ago and regretted it shortly thereafter. The recent sale was too good to pass up on however, so I took the dive again and will likely be buying a second. I have had Google Home devices scattered (mini's, normal Homes, a Home Hub, and a Home Hub Max) in my home for years due to wanting smart speakers, but not wanting Amazon devices. Privacy has become more important to me over time, and I have become more entrenched into the Apple ecosystem over the years as well. The HomePod sounds absolutely incredible, and is FAR more reliable as a smart home hub than the Google Home's we have had which constantly have issues connecting with our Philips Hue, and August Smartlock. The HomePod and Homekit never have issues controlling our smart home, and perform tasks much more quickly than our Google devices. Pair the better performance with better sound, and much more privacy due to how Apple handles requests on the HomePod and this is an easy choice to make. As is normal, the build quality is fantastic, and it looks great in any space. My main wish is that a HomePod mini and Google Home Hub like device is released so that I can replace my Google Home's entirely. Sure, the Google Assistant is smarter when it comes to random search requests and internet type searches, but for what I use my smart devices for 95% of the time, the HomePod is actually BETTER.

Absolutely Love this speaker
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the HomePod sounds great and looks good in my living room... works great with Apple Music, Siri is much better with the HomePod than just with the phone... this speaker knows and plays all of my favorite music even if I’ve downloaded it or not, so I find new music I like all the time... I would highly recommend this product to any Apple user for how seamlessly it works with all its products... Very happy with purchase...

Best Sounding Home Assistant Out There
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Apple HomePod is by far the best sounding of all the home assistant devices out there. Granted, they may not do as much in terms of control, integration and automation as other brands and are a bit on the pricey side of the market. But for me, neither are an issue since I'm using them mostly for streaming music. They fit the bill perfectly. Crisp and clear highs while also providing deep and rich bass response. All of this packed into a beautifully designed and solidly built unit from Apple.

Great sound, but price and small quirks overwhelm
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my spouse to use in her salon for music. Previously she was using a Google Home speaker, so she was due for a sonic upgrade. And the HomePod definitely produces better sound than a Google Home, no question. But unfortunately, the speaker just didn't work well for her. Her biggest problem was caused by plugging her Square mag-strip card reader into her iPhone while music was playing. No matter what she tried, plugging the Square reader into her iPhone made music on the HomePod pause (I assume the either the phone or speaker saw the Square reader as headphones or an audio device being plugged in). I tried to fix it, but couldn't ever figure it out. It drove her nuts though, especially since the old Google Home never had this problem. She is the type to just want things to work and be simple, and saying "Hey Google, play my salon mix" is about as easy as it gets. After a month with it, the pausing issue was on her last nerve. She decided to return it and she put that money towards a Dyson hairdryer, and resumed using the Google Home for her music needs. My second, and more general, gripe is the price. I purchased the HomePod in December 2019. At that time, there was a holiday price of $199. I think, sound-wise, that $199 is the right price for this speaker. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great, but it still sounds like a bluetooth speaker, which means a limited soundstage and some lack of clarity (particularly the highs and mids). It's just inherent in the design of a small object stuffed with speakers, you get a small footprint in exchange for a lack of clarity or separation. In my opinion, $299 would be much better spent on a pair of Sonos Ones in a stereo configuration, placed apart from one another. You'll get better stereo separation and a wider sound stage with a pair of Sonos versus the HomePod. You can also keep adding Sonos speakers as you see fit, to service multiple rooms or even create a surround system. Lastly, it is also worth mentioning that the HomePod is already a 2 year old product. Sure, it sounds great for a bluetooth speaker, and it does sound better than my $139 JBL Charge 4, but it doesn't sound TWICE as good. If you pay more than $199 for this is in 2020, you're paying too much. In conclusion, if you must own a HomePod, wait for it to be on sale. $199 is a fair price for a 2 year old bluetooth speaker, but $299 just isn't a fair price anymore when you can get two Sonos One speakers for a dollar more. Also, if you're getting this for a similar use-case as my spouse, don't be surprised if using your iPhone for other activities while streaming music to the HomePod causes problems for you.

Great sounding speaker for Apple Systems
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to use Apples HomeKit, you’ll need a HomePod. The sound quality and ease of use follows Steve Jobs saying, “it just works!” Love this little speak with big sound. I wish they advertise the tech they put into this device. E.g. the sound quality won’t breakup if you push the speakers to the limits because the speaker itself will make Micro adjustments to bass and treble to give the best sound! Now that’s high tech!!!

Great speaker but you have to like Apple
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HomePod speaker is fantastic, and even more amazing when you combine two together for stereo. What I like with the Home Pod vs the Sonos is that the bass is impressive. It's like there's a subwoofer in this tiny speaker. There are some not great things though : first the speakers are NOT bluetooth. Second, you better use Apple Music as your way to play music. Yes you can use spotify, etc, but it must be used through your iphone...no iphone, no audio from homepod speakers. So to recap: you better be in the Apple world to really appreciate this speaker..but if you are...wow.

Welcome Home(Pod)
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Apple HomePod brought joy to my cold dead heart seconds after I set it up. It immediately bellowed out songs that I hadn’t listed to since my first iPod, the iPod mini. Maybe it was random, maybe smart design, but it evoked an immense feeling of nostalgia. The sound quality is excellent. Bass is not heavy handed, but it is strong. Siri picks you up wherever you are in the room, even if you whisper. This is a purchase that you will not regret.

Stereo pair sounds great & setup seamlessly
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic product for one such as I already bought into the Apple ecosystem. The sound is superb for all except low bass, setup was a piece of cake, and they just work! The stereo pairing was setup from the get go and they really fill the great room of our house with excellent sound. I'm an audiophile and they sound as good as physics can allow them to for such a convenient portable speaker. I do wish they could play from an iTunes home-sharing computer. Note that excellent value was at the then on-sale price.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my fifth homepod, yes my fifth and I still have the original 4. I love these things, they are absolutely incredible when setup properly. I have two sets of them, each in stereo mode one of in our he master bedroom which is great for controlling our hue lights as well as watching movies and listening music, very high quality fidelity. The others are paired in my Bar, Great for sports & music, etc. these things are fantasticly easy to control easy to use once you get past original Wi-Fi connection process which doesn’t take a lot of brains.

Great Music - Great Sound - Worth the Cost
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apple Home Pods sound great. It's so easy to ask thrm to play almost any song or entire album by any artist. If you have an iPad or iPhone you can use Apple Music to search by song, artist, or type of music, This includes background music from TV or movies as well as test sessions and composing sessions. There are also a number of good videos available. I have a stereo pair of Home Pods that have given me hours and hours of entertainment. Definitely worth the cost. Highly recommended

Not so smart but beautiful sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're getting this speaker for its "smart home" function, don't. You're better off with Google or Amazon offerings. As far as the sound quality, this takes the cake for me. I have all of the smart speakers, and these (i bought 2 and set them up as a stereo pair) are mind blowingly good for their size. There is excellent sound separation and bass has been tuned just perfectly. If i want smart home functions I use Google but when i want to listen to music, these are my first choice.

Very happy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this as a gift to myself. I think the sound quality is out standing. I wish there was more things you could adjust in it but the sound wow! Siri is Siri, if you don’t like get on your phone you’re gonna feel the same in the HomePod. Very easy setup and since I only have Apple Music I feel this is perfect for the Apple home. It’s fun to start playing music while not home and freak out those at home. I admit I bought it thinking I needed it for my HomeKit accessories however I didn’t buy enjoyed it enough not to return it.

Nice sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had the item for two weeks. Sound is great, Item is cool but I don’t think it’s worth the price it is. It’d be better if it was Bluetooth capable. It’s just an unnecessary luxury item.

Great Wireless Speaker for Apple Owners!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, this speaker only works if you have an apple device, but if you're looking for a great wireless speaker that streams over WiFi instead of bluetooth, HomePod is the way to go! I love it and it can pick up my voice from a distance to either make it play music or even turn up the volume while it's playing. I have no issues with it yet. It does what I bought it for and it's so nice being able to play music now from my bed without having to get up and turn something on and having to connect my phone. I have my speaker setup next to an old 2.1 computer speaker setup in my room and one day my dad thought my music was playing from my 2.1 setup. He couldn't believe the sound was coming from just the HomePod. It's heavy and for a good reason! It puts out a good amount of volume and great quality sound. According to Amazon Music's app, the HomePod is playing at 24bit/48kHz for it's maximum streaming quality. I have a Hi-Fi setup in a separate room with studio monitors and an Onkyo receiver as well and the HomePod is still a great substitute when I don't feel like turning on my whole Hi-Fi setup. I highly recommend the HomePod based on my experience, but you definitely have to first consider how you plan to use your wireless speaker and what you need from it. But again, for my needs it's been perfect and I have no regrets! I wish it was completely wireless being that it needs to be plugged in to work at all, but again that's what makes it able to put out the sound that it can.

Love the sound quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the HomePod on blackfriday with BestBuy providing a $100 off sale price. I think $250 is a much decently priced HomePod over the initial price that Apple had it. I have absolutely no regrets purchasing for this price. The sound quality is great. Works flawlessly with my computer and iPhone. I wish the sound quality would be better synchronized with the video I play whether it be on my Apple TV or my MacBook, but overall still satisfied with my purchase. I am sure down the road I will incorporate home kit more as apple increases Siri capabilities.
