APPLE - HOMEPOD - WHITE This is my second Apple HomePod in the white color. I love everything Apple, and I own 98% of their products, some more than one. Anyway, I use mine as a stereo. Music plays out of both of them, at the same time. I set it up like that via my iPhone 11 Pro Max, and my iPad. I love the sound, it’s so crisp and clear. The base in this is immaculate. You really can not go wrong with Apple, honestly.

    Enjoying Apple HomePod

My family is really enjoying the Apple HomePod. We have it in our sitting room and listen to music when we are in the adjoining kitchen area. The sound is rich and has a lot of bass. This speaker is also very loud which my daughter loves. We have it connected with the Home App and it is capable of turning on and off our Hue Lights. Highly recommend this speaker. We also have a Google Home and Google Mini. The sound of the Apple Home Pod just blows out the Google products.

One of Apple’s Best Kept Secrets

In terms of playing music, setting timers and alarms, and much much more, the Home Pod is simply the best. We have 4 of them in pairs. As we walk from one room to the other, it is impossible to detect any change in quality, volume, or anything. Space tech :). Once they go mainstream on things like lights and switches it will dominate the market.

As a stereo pair is where these truly are exceptional! I do say these are $50 overpriced/ should be either $250 or be $300 individually and have a pair special for $500. When these first hit at $350 each and $700 for a pair I’m like are they serious?! After the price cut they are actually worth considering. Sound is beautiful, clear, powerful, rich and balanced yet leaning a touch heavier on bass.

I bought this as to function as the hub for my smart house. All of my smart home devices work within Apple universe, so this seemed a good buy. No doubt it’s expensive. But I love it! The sound is beautiful, the base tones are unbelievable. I love how it works with my iPad and iPhone to play music and control smart devices. I strongly recommend.

I’m an Apple user through and through so, homepods (I bought two on sale) make sense for me. My wife and I have iPhones, Apple TV’s throughout the house, iPads and Apple watches. Ahem! Apple... you got us. So, homepods make sense for us compared to other smart speakers for that reason among others. I happen to like Apple’s privacy policies better than googles or anyone else’s. If you’re going to have these devices in your home “listening” to you all the time, I prefer that they’re Apple devices. I bought two of them and connected them as a stereo pair in our living room and they do sound pretty dang good. I have an actual stereo/hifi multichannel systems upstairs in my theater room. The homepods certainly can’t match the stereo imaging/sound of that system but, with careful, precise placement, they do offer good stereo imaging and sound. Not great, not spectacular, but good for what they are which are small smart speakers after all so, expectations in check. For their size/weight they sound very impressive and even at very high volume they don’t sound at all stressed. I first tried a single homepod but as our living room is medium to large in size and open to the kitchen/dining area, it didn’t fill the space as I had hoped. Set up as a stereo pair fixed that problem and I can hear them pretty much anywhere in our home. They’re very even sounding with no real peaks or dips overall. They just sound good. The Siri function works perfectly almost every time too. Siri’s well known limitations compared to other virtual assistants not withstanding. We subscribe to Apple Music (naturally) and that service works perfectly via the homepods. As we’re “Apple people”, they work for us and we’re quite happy with them especially as we picked up two of them at a substantial discount while on sale. Back to stereo for a sec, I have noticed that they can sound great with “audiophile” tracks. YouTube is not an audiophile streaming service, but when I play audiophile quality music from YouTube there is an improvement in airiness, delicacy and separation and vocals sound better too. So, they can sound very good on certain high quality tracks even over less than audiophile quality streaming services like YouTube. The homepods are smaller than I thought (or remember) but pack a solid punch in sound quality. Great product and we’re happy with them. Now, let’s hope Siri gets a huge update to finally bring it up to par with the other virtual assistants.

This is the 6th HomePod we have bought. The sound quality is really outstanding especially considering the size of the speaker. However, when you put two in the same room and make them a pair, the sound quality is absolutely amazing. Also, Siri works well and you can use it to turn off lights, set timers, and even take phone calls and send texts.

These are the best audio speakers I have ever heard. These speakers allow you to hear every sound and nuance of a song. I’m hearing things I’ve never heard before, even in songs I’ve heard several times. You probably won’t get as much use out of them, unless you are part of the Apple ecosystem. It has voice commands that work very well if you have Apple Music. However, at $300, the price is steep.

I was really impressed with the sound quality of this smart speaker. The bass is impressive and this is probably the best smart speaker for incredible sounds for $200.00. Pick it up with the $100.00 off promotion. The bad part is it only works with Apple Music. Siri can get funky sometime and not respond. I also get annoyed with I ask Siri to turn the volume to max and she ask “are you sure it’s too loud”. Overall it’s great. I mainly use it as a center piece to the kitchen. I went with all google product for the actual smart home because it’s more functional.

    Sonos Play 1 sounds better

The sound of the speaker is very subjective. And all of the early reviews came out people are making comments about how it sounds so clear and that if you close your eyes you would think you were at the concert. I don’t hear any of that. Some of the tech writer The sound of the speaker is very subjective. And all of the early reviews came out people were making comments about how it sounds so clear and that if you close your eyes you would think you were at the concert. I don’t hear any of that. Let’s just say I lost a lot of respect for some of the tech writers after they review of this product. It just sounds OK. I do think the Sonos play one sounds better and much better. Some people were comparing the HomePod sounded as good the play 5. I would say these people absolutely wrong! You cannot adjust the EQ at all. I prefer less bass and more treble, but you are stuck with how Apple wants you to hear it. It often sounds muffled to me and not clear and crisp like other reviews were saying the week it came out. Also, different genres of music sounds different than others. I believe this is a result of their computational audio. This needs to be fixed in my opinion. I think computerized sound is not the best idea when it comes to speakers. It is priced too high for what you get. This Siri capability is no different then on your iPhone. I was trying to make a justification for keeping it as a HomeKit hub, but everything I ask the HomePod to do you could simply do the same with your iPhone. I am a huge Apple fan, but cannot give the HomePod a good review. If you’re buying it strictly for the quality of sound the Sonos play one blows it away. If you’re buying it as a personal assistant others are much better. However, I do trust Apple and Siri from securities Much more than Amazon or Google so there is something to say for that. I’m sure it will get better as time goes on, but it’s not there yet. I think the build up of how good it sounded as a speaker is grossly exaggerated.

    The hype is true

First off, I’ll say that the hype about the sound quality of the HomePod is true. It sounds incredible. As a musician and someone who has dabbled in studio recording, I care about and pay attention to sound quality. And, for the price, the HomePod has excellent sound quality. I also have a Bose SoundTouch 10 and a Sonos Playbar. This speaker truly blows the Bose out of the water—and I’m not one for exaggeration. The dynamics and depth of the HomePod simply cannot be matched by the SoundTouch. The HomePod has crisp highs and booming lows coupled with a spaciousness that seems to surround you. Even my wife, who doesn’t pay much attention to sound quality, can notice the difference. Interestingly, the HomePod holds its own against the Sonos Playbar. The Playbar is louder and has better stereo separation (which are both to be expected). However, the HomePod holds its own, even as a single mono speaker. As far a the “smarts” of the HomePod, it suffices for my needs. I use the Home app and have several HomeKit products. My HomePod can control my lights, locks, thermostat, and sprinklers without much issue—though, it’s not perfect. Sometimes it can’t communicate with my devices; but, it works far more than it does not. And the microphone on this speaker is amazing. It can hear you without a problem from across the room with loud music playing. I do wish the HomePod could play live radio. That would make it a more complete home speaker. Additionally, I wish Apple opened it to native Spotify streaming (which is extremely unlikely to happen). As an Apple Music user, this doesn’t bother me, but in my opinion, it does affect the overall experience with the speaker and should be noted. The HomePod is a powerful speaker that simply works. It can play any audio via AirPlay 2, including audio from Apple TV. At regular price, the HomePod is expensive. If you can pick it up on sale, I highly recommend it.

This is my second Homepod, I like the idea that I can play one in the bedroom or the other one in the kitchen, or even them pair together and play at the same time. I also takes commands pretty well, as far as opening the front door or turn on the lights, and even open the garage doors, and of course play the tunes..

This was easy to set up since it read all the information it needed from my phone. The sound is incredible. I am still annoyed that I have to start Pandora or Spotify on my phone and airplay it to the speaker instead of just asking Siri to play it on the HomePod. I was able to create a AirPlay II speaker pair with my "Apple TV/Samsung Sound Bar" in another room so that the same music played in the Kitchen and the living room. That is useful. I bought this on a super sale at less than $200. At that price it seemed to me to be a good deal.

So so sad this is discontinued. I have a stereo pair hooked up to my Apple TV and they sound amazing. Music sounds incredible and the bass coming from such a small speaker is unbelievable. Voices on tv shows and movies sound clearer than a Sonos Beam I returned for sounding muffled. Let’s talk about Siri, though... It’s great at doing basic things, but wish it was smarter. The voice sounds far more natural and human-like compared to every other assistant - it even does a creepy-real “huh?” When you say “hey Siri” but don’t say anything else. The microphone picks up your voice even if you’re whispering across the room. There’s also a Siri bug that prevents it from playing music when it’s paired to an Apple TV. If you say “hey Siri play something”, it keeps saying “something went wrong with Apple Music”. I’ve tried logging in and out, I’ve even tried factory resetting and I can’t get it to work. The only way it’ll play music is if I do it manually through the Apple TV or pair it with my phone. This bug is also pretty...old...and wish they’d fix it with an update already. With that said, it fits really well into the Apple ecosystem and works well with other devices. Sound is so loud and clear I never need to raise the volume over 60% but it never distorts if I do.

I purchased two HomePods for the stereo pairing. The sound is the best of any smart speaker on the market still to date. Pairing is simple and I love the Siri integration. I have my Apple Music subscription turned on and is all I have to do is ask Siri to play something I like. Airplay 2 is awesome as well. Can control volume and everything else from the iPhone now. Highly recommend this to anyone who is into quality of sound type speakers.

I first bought the HomePod mini, because I didn't want to spend 300$ on this kind of music device. While the mini is ok, but a bit disappointing due to its small size (and the corresponding sound quality), the "big" HomePod does everything right: ease of use, great sound quality, nice design. And the best thing: together with the "big" HomePod, the mini now also makes sense!

I purchased two of these to work together as my TV sound system. The soundbar I had from Klipsh would not connect half the time. I do not have that issue with these Homepods. I also love that I can control the volume from my phone and play music from my iPhone to them. My only thing I wish is to make Spotify the default music app to play music from when I ask Siri to play something.
