While I am not the one who uses it (as it was a gift for my sister), what i do know from what she tells me is that it was a great purchase, as the ease of listening is great between her apple devices. the only downside is that it does need the wire to work, pardon my ignorance but before purchasing the homepod, there wasn’t much research done on our part regarding the use of the device, as well as needing internet connection to work well, we thought it was just an easy to use bluetooth device. all in all, it is a good device yes, but one that is stuck within the apple ecosystem once more.

Really enjoying this product! The set up is crazy easy with your iPhone and for a small device the sound is pretty impressive. It doesn’t take up much space and I have it tucked away in the corner of a side table in my living room.

Great size, it fits almost anywhere, I currently have this one in my bathroom and it’s sound good. Just a couple of things I’ve noticed when I go to change the volume it sometimes disconnects. Not a very big issue.

This is a great little speaker/smart device. Really good sound for such a small footprint. With Siri and Apple HomeKit integrated, it makes for a convenient voice-controlled home. If you use Apple products, everything is connected so you can easily set reminders, add calendar events, check the weather and news, and play music by voice. If you get two, you can set them up as a stereo pair for a well-rounded sound experience.

    A decent little speaker

I’m a avid fan of apple products, I have everything except the AirPods Max. So I never owned a smart speaker and when the HomePod came out I didn’t want to pay $350, so I waited and I was able to cop a HomePod Mini. My initial impression wasn’t too good, I almost returned it but I gave it a chance and I like it. The one thing I was taken back by was that it’s not wireless, it has a cord (what isn’t wireless in 2021?) this thing. Despite that small hiccup, I do enjoy being able to tell Siri what to do, I like not having to burn my phone or iPad out playing music. I can just tell Siri to play certain things without running the battery down. I have a Beats Pill and I love that but that strictly a speaker (great sound) but I just love this little speaker. So overall it’s not bad for the price, the sound quality is decent and I’m sure if you have two it’s even better. But I do like it, they are more features in the Home App. I guess once I maximize all of its potential I can honestly say it’s a 5/5 but for now I give her a solid 4/5 stars. Worth the money or at least a try.

Beautiful design (as expected by Apple), great quality sound, easy to use and it easily pairs with another unit. Siri's smart capabilities still have a ways to go but as far as sound quality is concerned, I think Apple is leading the pack.

I purchased this with the idea that it would act as alarm clock for me when I decided to take all other electronics out of my bedroom at night. Like anything Apple branded it off course works seamlessly with your iPhone so Siri works great and the “handoff” feature of placing your phone on top of the speaker and then whatever you’re playing starts playing on the speaker also works great. Sound is also surprisingly good for such a small speaker. However, if you’re like me and want to use it as an alarm clock of sorts I would recommend against it. Annoyingly, you can tell Siri to set an alarm and it will, but if I happen to wake up early and want to cancel the alarm, I would have to start talking to Siri and ask to turn the alarm off. No problem if you’re single but if you’ve got someone sleeping next to you then you’re having a conversation that will inevitably wake them up. There’s no way of getting to your iPhone and turning the alarm off on the HomePod specifically. Because of that, I went with Amazon Alexa echo spot which has a digital clock and weather display, Alexa voice recognition to turn an alarm on and the ability to turn the alarm off directly on the unit to or my phone - and it’s $50 cheaper.

I love this speaker. It’s convenient and small and has a nice style. It is easy to talk to Siri from across the room. Or even when loud music is playing. They are also pretty loud for their size. I have 5 in all and may get one more

The HomePod mini delivers impressive sound quality for its size, truly packing a punch. While it’s not quite as powerful as the regular HomePod, it still offers a rich audio experience. Having it in your room, or pairing two for a stereo setup, creates a cozy, home theater vibe that’s perfect for an apartment.

    Great sounding, not-so-smart Apple speaker

I absolutely love my original HomePod (the big one), so when Apple released the mini, figured it would be great to have additional wireless speakers to place wherever and try out a multi-room audio experience. The sound quality is surprisingly good considering how small they are! Comparable bluetooth or smart speakers I have heard sound like they're going to blow up when they get close to reaching their upper volume limit, but the HomePod minis have barely any distortion at their highest output! They can get really loud too! The bass is present, but not room-vibrating, and the sound is very balanced. I use a pair of HomePod minis connected to my Apple TV and the audio sounds great for casting music or watching TV. Since these are purely wireless speakers (there are no inputs other than the attached power cable), I have fairly frequently had issues with audio cutouts or lag when casting music through Airplay. Sometimes the music just stops completely and starts playing through my phone instead. Not a super seamless experience, but could come down to router issues. There are times when I cannot even select the speakers because they disappear from my Airplay menu, even though I am connected to the same Wifi network they are on. Important note too – If you can't cast audio through Apple's Airplay protocol (so basically only through Apple Devices), you won't be able to get these to work – they lack bluetooth audio functionality! Plus, Siri is not very helpful when asking for requests. I would say 60% of the time it will be able to 1. Recognize what I say and 2. be able to do the request I asked. Lots of "hmmm, I'm not quite sure" or "could you say that again?" responses. After a couple of years of software updates, you would think the experience would be slightly better, but smart home assistants still have a lot of evolving to do. They still don't work well with music streaming services other than Apple Music (at least when asking to play a certain song or artist), so that is a continuous burden since I do not use Apple's services. For these reasons, I basically only use these for the purpose of listening to music or casting through my Apple TV audio. They sound great, but there are a lot of software optimizations that need to be made for these to work as seamlessly as they are advertised to.

Amazing sound from such a small speaker. I have two connected in a stereo pair and they work great as speakers for my 4k Apple TV. Much better than my previously larger and more expensive soundbar. I really like the minimalistic look.

Conflicted on this purchase. I wanted a home hub that my kids could access music, timers and other resources. This provided that function well. I’ll just create a pro’s and con’s list to summarize the rest. Pros: The hardware itself is quality. The speakers, the voice recognition, the overall build quality is on par for what I’d expect from an Apple product Besides the features above, one amazing feature I find using more and more is the intercom function which allows you to announce to specified Apple products a voice recording. Time to eat is no longer yelling, I can call for kids if I’m upstairs, I recently went through a bout of strep so I could speak to them while remaining isolated. It’s simple but helpful. Can dual set up for tv speakers or surround sound which is much better than most tv speakers. Acts as home hub, which is needed for automation features with series Home/HomeKit The cons: Premium price compared to other similar items (echo dot etc), but is to be expected as quality is higher and it’s Apple. But price point is not terrible When multiple devices are around sometimes Siri doesn’t perform the action. It’s supposed to detect which device is closest by voice sound, but it’s funky at times. Especially since my charging rack is close by. The pod itself sometimes doesn’t complete shortcuts as it has to interact with other devices. Example is I have a remote start unit for our minivan which works with Siri. I can tell my phone or my watch “hey siri start my minivan” and it works 98% of the time. It works only about 50% of the time on HomePod. I understand why, but to make it almost always work would hamper other commands. Some simple commands cannot be done. Like “hey siri re-record a voice memo…” requires to push the red button. Other interactions with apps require a phone that shouldn’t need them. Apple is slow on working in some of the basic elements. While it is still better than most other assistants in many areas, it still has some glaring faults

The only thing that’s keeping this from getting 5 Stars is the lack of “skills” or “apps” that are compatible with the HomePod lineup. The only music app that currently works (somewhat) is Pandora. I still have issues with it playing stations that are on my account and there for have to play them using Airplay. Airplay is a great feature being able to play almost any music or radio app. The downside is you have to keep your phone charging or you are going to drain your battery rather quickly. It would be wonderful if Apple had something like a Sonos style app linked with 100’s of music providers and can stream music directly over the internet I would be happy to give it 5 stars. Where I am most impressed is the Sound quality!!!! It was much better than expected. I imagined slightly better than echo dot, but this thing rivals Bose soundlink mini. Music sounds extremely clear, bass is present just not room shaking. Bass heavy music is not this things strong suit but most music sounds pretty great on this thing. Hope my review helps!
