Excellent sound and fairly compact. 2 of these together are really impressive. I really like the sound profile. I just wish the integration with music services other than Apple Music was improved.

I had one of the old Apple Hi-Fi speakers many years ago and I liked that one. Once Apple announces that they were making the HomePod I was excited to see what it would be like, and the sound is incredible. This little speaker really packs a punch. While the speaker sounds great, it does lack some of the "smart" functions that I was hoping for. Siri is lackluster in the speaker right now, however, software is updatable. Apple has already announced that Airplay 2 will be supported later this year, and that's only the tip of the update iceberg that is to come. Siri can easily be updated to get smarter each month. I believe that Apple will be pushing out these updates as they are ready.

This has to be one of the most satisfying purchases I've made in a long time. The setup was simple, it integrated well with other devices, and the sound quality and volume is absolutely fantastic.

For a company that's never made a speaker, it's very very good. Clean sound and bass, Siri is good. The assistance intelligence can be better but speaker wise it's perfect

Pioneer in home AI, portable digital music, home automation etc. Still lags behind other brand but sound quality and ease of use is unbeatable. A lot of catch-up to do..hopefully will be perfect sooner than later

I’m admittedly a huge Apple fan and deep in the ecosystem but I’m not one of these massive fanboys who can’t look at things objectively. Based on my initial impressions for two days, I like it, but I don’t love it. It’s an amazing speaker...it sounds incredible really...but personally I don’t see it as a good value yet. Maybe as I use it more and learn more of its functions I’ll be more impressed. For me...most Apple products have an immediate wow factor and it justifies the price...that didn’t happen for me on this product. Not yet anyway. Luckily I got it on the Black Friday sale so that helps. Apple’s original MSRP price was just a bit optimistic to say the least. Excellent sound, everything is else just ok so for me the jury is still out.

Yes, Siri is not as fully featured as it should be. Never mind that, it’s all about the sound. I tested this in multiple rooms with multiple types of music and once it adjusts itself to the size of the room, it’s on! With the multiple speakers it does present you with a “pseudo” stereo image, actually it’s like a L, R, Center (vocals), out of one device. Set it as the output of the Apple TV 4K and my ears could not discern exactly where the “pseudo” surround sound was coming from while watching a movie. Bottom line, if you need to speak to an inanimate object for information, use Siri on a different iOS device. If you want an incredible sounding speaker, buy a HomePod.

This speaker sounds great and is easy to set up. And if you get two you can pair them up to have surround sound, close to atmos as you can get without actually having speakers thru out the room.

Like many we passed on HomePod due to its high list price. But when we decided to try some home automation, we went with HomeKit. The HomePod does a very good job as our home hub and is responsive even when it is playing music (which it also does a very good job at). We also added a HomeBridge to integrate in some older items that aren't HomeKit compatible (a Nest thermostat, a Sleep Number bed, and some Wyze cameras). Ours is in the living room, which works well since it is close to the front door which will be getting a BlueTooth only HomeKit door lock and BlueTooth range might be an issue from the other side of the house. If they come out with a smaller one we will add a second in our bedroom to plus-up the sound from our TV, but the current size is a little big for use there. If you can get one on sale these work well as both a home automation hub and a smart speaker, especially if you have a majority of HomeKit compatible devices and an Apple Music subscription.

I bought this speaker to place on a kitchen countertop. I have an open-concept kitchen with an adjacent family room and dining space. This speaker is placed at the center of this combined space. The sound is impressively loud and clear. We can talk to Siri with a normal level voice across the room, even when music is already playing loudly and she can discern the instructions. Within the Apple ecosystem (we all have iPhones and Apple Music family plan), this device is a very convenient extension. Whenever we are in the kitchen/family room area we just talk to Siri via this HomePod to get things done. I'm also buying HomePod minis to extend this functionality throughout the house.

The Apple Home pod is very easy to use. I got my first one for Christmas and since have asked for a second one for my birthday. Great sound and easy to use voice command allow me to play my music right from my itunes library.

The best sounding speaker I have heard. People complaining about not able to stream 3rd party music services. YOU CAN STREAM 3rd PARTY MUSIC SERIVCES. Use your iPhone or what I use to keep from draining the battery on my iPhone I use my iPod. You can use AIRPLAY to play music through the HomePod. I listen to iHeartRadio, SiriusXM all the time with great sound.

I purchased a HomePod after switching from the Android/Google Home platform to the iOS ecosystem and was instantly blown away by the massive improvement in sound quality over my Google Home. I used the HomePod as my primary speaker in a tiny home and it easy filled the entire 170sqft space with a full, crisp sound. I now use it as part of a whole home audio system in which it fills larger rooms with no issue. While Siri leaves much to be desired, the integration into my smart home, and easy music control via Apple Music is more then adequate for my needs. My only regret is not purchasing more of them before Apple discontinued them.

Great sound and very easy to set up! We have this in our kitchen and play music anytime we are cooking or eating dinner, since it is as easy as telling Siri to play music from our playlists.

Got this Apple HomPod during the Black Friday sale, was able to pick up at the store within an hour, the design is very Apple...simple and neat, and the quality of its sounds are great, and very easy to use, love it.

I bought this HomePod primarily to control our HomeKit Smart Home Devices (Phillips Hue lights, Ecobee Thermostat) without having to always have a phone or tablet on us. On first install, the HomePod wanted to set itself up as the primary Hub for our devices. We already had an Apple TV set up as the primary Hub, and the HomePod seemed to fight it for supremacy, leaving us unable to remotely connect to our Smart Home devices. After I disconnected and reconnected the HomePod, it seems to be playing nicely with the Apple TV and we’re able to control things remotely again. When we are home, the HomePod controls everything very well, and it’s nice for every member of the family to be able to ask Siri to turn smart devices on and off. As far as music quality, HomePod has been touted as the best audio quality in a smart speaker - it certainly sounds much better than the little Google Home Mini we have in one of the bedrooms. We previously had a UE Megaboom in the Living Room where the HomePod is, and I don’t know if I’m enough of an audiophile to tell much difference. The Megaboom always sounded great - the HomePod sounds great.

This is the second (4) that I purchased.the first ones went in the master bedroom. The second (4) went in too the guest bedroom. I love the sound. Rich, full sounding speakers that don’t take up a lot of room.

If you have everything apple this is definitely a must have specially if you use Apple Music! Nice and smooth on the high end and a pretty darn good low end specially for its size. A bit pricey but I got it as an open-box so it ain’t too bad.

I absolutely love the sound quality of the device. Best smart speaker I have used when it comes to sound. However, this may be a situation of my not so good WiFi, but connections could be hard to reach from time to time. So my advice is if you are into sound quality, you’ll love this device

If you don't have a smart speaker and you use Apple Music, this is the one to get. I tried it for two weeks and wanted so badly to keep it. Apple puts a lot of restrictions on Siri, some in the name of privacy, which is good, but some seem to be there just to steer you away from competitive services. With Alexa, you can access radio stations on iHeart and TuneIn and use alternative music services such as Pandora, Spotify, and Sirius XM (many services need paid subscriptions). In the end, I returned it because Alexa offers me greater functionality. I thought about keeping the HomePod just for music, but it's too confusing having two AI's for different purposes.
