So we have a second tv on loft which is old Samsung. Typically TVs have very bad speakers and I wanted to something punchier but not invest in soundbar as it will be bulky. This works best for me. Its small enough to be unnoticed and being apple product, asthetically it looks brilliant. And it sounds amazing when paired with Apple TV 4k.

I already have a big HomePod and love it, this mini I just bought for my basement workshop does not disappoint. The sound is full and plenty to hear well at maximum volume. It won't blow you out of the room but it has a decent high volume and the sound is not lacking for anything. Speaking to have it take notes, set alarms, timers, add items to lists is a great feature you will actually use a lot! Good sound, small or not it's got good sound and I'm very pleased with it and setup is such a breeze with an iPad, or iPhone.

If you have an iPhone this little speaker is for you, if you have a Apple TV this is definitely for you. If you have Apple a Music music subscription, what are you waiting for? I bought one and was amazed at what was coming out of this tiny thing. I was so impressed I went back and got another! Stereo sounds twice as good as one lol. You can even link more then just 2! Set up is stupidly easy. You hold your iPhone above it and it automatically sets up like AirPods do. If they had this for $199 originally I would have gotten it years ago!

I have two of these in the bedrooms and combined to the sound bar connected to Apple TV in the living rooms, it’s a great setup. The minis are surprisingly good for the price and pair super easily to my phone and other devices. Siri works great as well. Recommended.

Can't say enough good things about these. The sound in a stereo pair is just mind blowing for such a small device. I do love the original HomePod and I wish that Apple wouldn't have quit making them, but these are very good and will be happy with them till the new HomePod full-size comes back. Only con is a delay when using them as external speakers with a Mac. Other than that perfection.

I bought a set of these for my living room to use as a stereo pair. I love using them with my Apple TV, and I can use them in somewhat of a surround sound way by also having my sound bar selected for sound output. Very good addition to my home theater setup. The blue looks awesome with everything else in my living room. Plus the other features are great for just listening to music and asking Siri to set timers and what the weather’s like today.

Amazing sound in this little package. Almost as good as its bigger sibling. Don't think of it as a competitor for Amazon and Google devices. Amazon's primary goal is to sell you stuff. Google's primary goal is to sell you (your data, that is). Their "assistants" are pretty good at what they do but the speakers don't sound all that great. Apple is about the music; they don't sell your data. Siri does what it's supposed to do. HomePod and HomePod mini are for music and they work beautifully and sound great.

If you are in to the Apple system, the mini is perfect for small rooms with plenty of available volume. While it cannot reproduce deep base, unlike it’s bigger brother it does not try to produce bass sounds that are out of it’s normal range, which is a plus. As long as you don’t crank it all the way up, the sound is very good given its price point. If you use IOT devices using Apple’s HomeKit, it can be your required hub and enable vast improvement in Bluetooth connected devices that use Thread.

Grabbed three of these and have not been disappointed. I never would spring for the original HomePod due to the cost, but the price on these allowed me to have one in the den, living room, and the bedroom. When you have them all playing in sync it’s the easiest ‘whole home audio’ you can get. Handoff between my phone, Powerbeats pro headphones, and the mini isn’t as smooth as I like but it doesn’t take much to get it corrected when it does mess up. One of my best audio purchases in years.

Great speaker but wait until they are on sale

I bought a pair of HomePods from Best Buy right before Christmas when they were on sale for $199 apiece. At that price, the ability to play music (directly from Apple Music or via AirPlay from an iPhone or iPod) or sound from an Apple TV more than justified the price for the pair. (I have them set up to play as a stereo pair.) A good stereo would cost as much and saddle me with unsightly speaker wires. And the bass on these is just awesome, particularly when you figure the relatively small size. I liked them enough that a few days after Christmas, I decided to pick up a second pair to use in another room. However, at that point the price had gone up to $300. They are nice speakers but at $200 apiece they are pricey; at $300 apiece they are way overpriced. My advice. Wait until they go on sale for $199 either at Best Buy or at another retailer that Best Buy will price match. As for Siri functionality, I was pleasantly surprised. She can hear me even when the HomePods are playing music pretty loudly. And most of the basic commands I’ve tried work well. Voice control of HomeKit accessories seems brisker than the same command given to Alexa. However, when I ask Siri to turn on a group of lights she does fine but when I ask her to turn off the same group, she replies, “I can’t turn off a scene.” Odd. Where Siri still falls down is on knowledge-based requests. She still tends to want to send you the information as a link to a website you can view on your iPhone or other screen. Since HomePod has no screen, these requests cannot be fulfilled. The basic bottom line is these are great speakers when on sale but overpriced at full price. Smart speaker functionality is getting better all the time but still needs some work. Oh, and you still need an iOS device to set the HomePod up, so if the HomePod is your only Apple device, you’re out of luck,

So far it's been great. I had Google home Mini's (Free or very cheap price paid) and these sound better and are more useful because I have apple devices. Yes, you can't mount them to a wall, but I can live with that inconvenience. They are a great size. I will definitely be getting another one. So my whole house is covered. The full size is still a better option I think for bigger rooms. I use mine in the kitchen, bathroom, office. Full size in the bedroom and AppleTV/Soundbar for the living room.

HomePod Mini Speakers—Sound Throughout the House

Set up multiple HomePod Mini speakers for music throughout the house, all controlled by voice or phone. The speakers were relatively easy to set up, and they can be placed out of the way, either hidden or visible.

Let's start with the good! They sound really great for the size. I've got two and I love listening to the same thing upstairs AND downstairs at the same time. Pretty cool! They're easy to connect and when they work well they work great. The downsides... They rely on a wifi connection. Our wifi cuts out when we're hosting multiple people at our house and that is EXACTLY when we WANT TO USE THEM. So they cut out constantly because they rely on wifi instead of just Bluetooth connectivity. The biggest con, is that they don't work with Spotify, which is where all of my girlfriends playlists are (I bought them for HER for Christmas). So when you want to control it using "Hey Siri" it starts playing apple music and the playlists are straight trash unless you go through and remake all of your playlists. So I created a playlist for them to play so I could set and forget for an afternoon. Except it kept playing from the album the songs were from instead of the order of the playlist. Apple Music is doing great things with Lossless audio but the playlists and radios are a DEAL BREAKER. They work great for having a timer that you can set and listen to from anywhere in the house. But honestly... We're probably going to return them. The smart home technology is just not there yet and having a reliable Bluetooth speaker that you can just bring around with you instead of having it plugged in all the time and needing wifi outweighs any of the smart tech advantages. They WOULD be so cool. If they worked how they were supposed to and worked with Spotify. I have everything Apple. iPad Pro 12.9 2020 with Magic Keyboard and Pencil (so does my gf.) Our business runs from the MacBook Pro M1 Max and M1 13''. Amazing technologies. I even have the AirPods Max, I'm a bonafide Apple sheep.... but these things suck.
