went in for pc replacement and ended up buying the imac. have no regrets for moving away from windows, etc. easy set-up, looks great and has no cables/wiring, wireless keyboard and mouse are fantastic. future replacements for my other laptops/desktops will be mac computers. they appear to be pricey but with the cost of spyware, internet security software, etc needed for the windows based units the gap closes quickly.

After 20 years of being a PC I am thrilled with the Mac. Extremely easy to setup and use. Looks good and has a cool keyboard and mouse. It is so nice not to have to hassle with viruses and equally as irritating antivirus programs.

Bye Bye PC... I'm a Mac now

I am a long time PC user and this is my first Mac. The associates at Bestbuy were very helpful and did not push me into this mac, they just simply showed me the differences between the PC that I originally went in there looking for and the mac that I bought... I'm an armature photog and this computer is great for photo editing and storage. iPhoto is awesome as is all the apps on the system. trust me if you can afford the extra $ to step up to a Mac you won't be disappointed. I never saw myself as a "Mac person" but I was wrong. I will never go back to PC. This is a must have unit if you like your computer to work.

    Best Decision

When my last PC Laptop stopped working after trying to load Windows 7 I decided enough is enough. I decided to make the switch and I am never going back. The MAC is so much faster and less annoying then the PC. I am going to buy iWorks to be able to open and send Windows software but for now I am using my work laptop. The display is amazing! It is all high def and everything looks so much better. The display alone makes this computer worth the money. DVDs look great and so do web videos. The computer walks you through everything when you first plug it in and it had no issues finding and connecting to my home network. One of the big differences I have noticed is the quickness of start up. It starts up in under a minute from being shut down. When I first started it up I also noticed only 10 GB of hard drive is used up. This is a huge difference to what I remember about a new PC. I remember a PC is initially crammed with useless software that takes up hard drive space. Overall I am happier then I thought I would be and I can honestly say I will NEVER go back to a PC.

    Totally In LOVE!!!

After months of drooling over mac products, I decided to jump head first into their world. I purchased this Imac, the airport extreme, and apple tv...they all work flawlessly together. The iMac takes some getting used to, but it's quick to learn and learning is fun. I've always had a pc, and decided to also purchase a cheap desktop just to avoid installing the windows OS on the mac. Not even 5 min out of the box i was getting "Not responding" errors, and couldn't even exit the programs. Even control alt delete wasn't co-operating. This is sooo typical of PC's, and I'm officially DONE with them and their endless ability to disappoint & frustrate me. I also had to talk to mac's customer support, which alone is worth the purchase. You can schedule a time online and they'll call you... And guess what? These guys are friendly, courteous, and get the problems fixed FAST! Did I mention that the customer support isn't outsourced? All in all, expect a magnificent machine that will change your computing habits forever, and an amazing technical support team if something leaves you confused.

We dumped our PC's at Work

At the urging of my kids, I bought a IMac 3 years ago to replace my PC at home. I've been a PC user since the early days, even learned how to program back in the Intel 8086 days(late 70's). After a month of loving it and kicking myself for waiting so long to convert, I took it to work and let them 'Play" with it. The next week all our office PC's were replaced with the IMac! Not one service call, virus, spyware etc since. It does everything a PC will do only faster & easier and without the headaches. I think the negative reviewers here are PC repair guys who are slowly seeing their customer base going away. The support from Apple when needed is top notch, and the re-learning curve from a PC is short, even my 73 year father picked it up in a day & he too is now a IMac user. No more PC's for us!

    Best Computer I've Ever Owned

I think I forgot completely what it's like to be a PC owner. I have had this Mac since October and I've never had one problem with viruses or crashes of any kind. The wireless mouse is incredible. One day my batteries were low, so I plugged in my old mouse and I literally could not stand it. I don't know how I survived using a mouse other than the Magic Mouse. It feel so good in your hand and makes everything easier--especially scrolling down in a document. The 1080p back-lit LED display is so bright, colorful, and beautiful. Videos look phenomenal. Everything is so clear and detailed. The design is gorgeous. I found the operating system very easy to use. I love the iLife programs. The Apple site also has thousands of wonderful downloads. The flat wireless keyboard is great as well. Like everything else, it does the job flawlessly and feels great to type on. I also own an iPod Nano and an iPhone and I can honestly say, Apple is the best when it comes to electronics. I don't even consider other brands anymore when it comes to these devices. The built-in camera and mic are great as well. Very clear pictures, video, audio, and sound. Getting back to the display, I've never seen a better one on any computer. Walking through Best Buy looking at monitors, it is the best. Period. The all-in-one design is great. No bulky boxes containing the hard drive. There is basically one cord that comes out of this thing, and that's the power supply. I would suggest buying the excellent, thin, easy to use remote for music and movies as well. The price is definitely worth every penny. You won't be disappointed!

This is so very easy to use. Just plug it in and go. Simple as that. Gone are the days that you take an afternoon to "set up your new computer". I suggest you buy the Mac Office software to go with it , (let's face it you need Excel, and Word, e-mail program, etc.) If you don't know how to do something there is a help tab, and it will guide you. You feel empowered instead of overwhelmed. I will never buy a PC again. It uses very little space, as there is no tower, no wires, and it is sleek, my home office looks uncluttered.

    Not quite a convert

I'm a PC user, by nature, and my cohorts at the office -- enthusiastic as they are about their Macs -- motivated me to convert. I bought the new iMac 21.5 (more than ample in screen size), and while I've been fairly successful at acquainting myself with the interface, I've experienced a few hardware issues. The Magic Mouse doesn't quite work it's 'magic', and I've had ... let's call them 'hiccups' with the CD/DVD drive. Reading and ejecting discs has proven troublesome, and when in use, doesn't exactly purr like a kitten. In fact, when iTunes is not running in the background, you might say that it actually growls. Perhaps it's a decent product, but it wasn't the Disney experience that I'd hoped for.

Not too bad for a Mac

I've been using PCs since the days of DOS and this is my first foray into the world of Apple (well, since the days of the Apple II). It was the first time I'd noted a reasonably performing iMac at a fairly reasonable price and I thought I'd give it a shot. What I've noticed right off is the ease of setup and use compared to a Windows PC (but of course, it is and all-in-1). It has fairly decent performance and the overall quality of the hardware is excellent. It's honestly the first time I've had a flat-panel screen that hasn't had any dead pixels, a testament to Apple's quality. The only problems I've seen with the system are the price, about half again as much as I'd have paid for a somewhat better performing PC with an equivalent LED backlit monitor, and a rather finicky DVD drive. I would not recommend purchasing the iWork/mobile Me package with the system as it's been a complete waste when put beside free software such as the full features OpenOffice suite.

I am 38 and have always has PC's...this year I bought a MacBook and decided that my kids need the iMac...it is the easiest computer to use and customer service is unprecedented....even if you want to ask the tiniest of questions they are beyond accommodating and helpful. Not having to install anti-virus software (which bogs down a computer) makes it worth the higher price tag in my humble opinion. Love Apple!!!

I bought this iMAC today after returning an HP Desktop earlier in the day. This unit is so easy to set up......unlike a PC. So this is my first MAC. The MAC ads are right on. I found Windows 7 to be flakey so I crossed over and won't look back. Even though I'll spend a bit more for software and hardware... the return will be worth it. In 5 minutes or less this puppy was running like a champ.

I bought the iMac two weeks ago. It was so easy to set up. Just plugged in the power and off we went. My Linksys router was slowing it down so I went back and bought the apple airport extreme wireless router and raised my downloading and uploading speed ten-fold... so... get that too. No kidding, ten-fold. I though my web problems were with my ISP! nope It can run windows 7 w/64 bit which I have to do for a couple of apps, but don't really need it. I can just get better apps. If you ever have hated your computer, you should make the switch. The quality of this product is second to none in my opinion. The apps that come with it are ones that you actually like. iChat, GarageBand, iMovie, iPhoto. all are awesome. I love GarageBand, you can download piano and guitar lessons, not just lessons, but lessons from Musicians like Alex Lifeson from RUSH,Norah Jones, Sting, Sara Bareilles, etc... so cool, and not too expensive. I am very happy with my switch to apple... never EVER going back!!!
